Opening in theaters February 12, 2010

Yesterday we got our first look at a batch of promo stills from the new horror film The Wolf Man starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt and today we get to check out the first movie trailer released for the film. Altho The Wolf Man won’t open in theaters until February of next year, it’s clear the movie studio wants to get a jump on launching the promo machine now considering the movie’s release date has been pushed back by almost 2 years. Here is the trailer for The Wolf Man:

Universal Pictures has revealed the new trailer for director Joe Johnston’s The Wolfman, opening in theaters on February 12 … In the film, Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate. As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself… one he never imagined existed.

While intrigued by this new take on the classic horror monster, I’m not sure that the trailer really grabs me. I tend to bristle at period pieces and, to be honest, some scenes remind me of the HORRRRRRRIBLE film Van Helsing which stars Hugh Jackman and came out a few years ago. That stinker of a film really ruined so many of the classic Universal Pictures monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man) that the memory of how bad it is seared into my brain :( I guess I was hoping to see more action in this first trailer. It looks like the love story will take center stage … I’m not sure that’s gonna do it for me. The movie is still many months away from release, we shall see if any future promo items will change my mind and get me more excited to see this film.

Bump Watch!
Sarah Michelle Gellar Pumps While She Bumps

Here are a few amazing photos of the beauteously bumped out Sarah Michelle Gellar out and about in SoCal earlier this week. After spending some time doing a bit of shopping at Barney’s New York, SMG drove herself to the gas station in order to fill up her cute little Toyota Prius all by herself!

See, SMG ain’t gonna let a little thing like being pregs get in the way of her shopping or her ability to pump up her own car. She continues to look amazing as her bump continues to grow. I think we still have a couple more months of fun pregs pics to look forward to from Mrs. Prinze-Gellar. LOOOOVE her!!

Mimi drops her 4th celebrity fragrance
Mariah Carey Releases A New Fragrance Called ‘Forever’

First there was M by Mariah Carey, then there was Luscious Pink by Mariah Carey and let’s not forget the special edition Wal-Mart only fragrance Ultra Pink by Mariah Carey which we *just* heard about a couple of weekends ago … but now there’s yet another smell released by, you guessed it, Mariah Carey. Mimi is releasing a 4th fragrance this week in a new ad campaign that is launching in beauty magazines. Here is a scan of her latest ad campaign for her latest celebrity fragrance called Forever by Mariah Carey:

Mariah Carey may have pushed back the release of her anticipated new album, but there’s no stopping another launch the beauty maven has in the works. Following the success of her two previous signature scents, M by Mariah Carey and Luscious Pink, the singer is poised to hit another high note with a new fragrance for fall — and she’s debuting her sexy ads online exclusively on PEOPLE.com. “Fragrance is so personal,” she tells PEOPLE, “and Forever captures that glamorous feeling that I want to share with my fans.” The opulent floral scent, which will start at $42 for a 1-oz. spray, will contain notes of lotus blossom, tuberose, gardenia, exotic woods and white musk.

You got a lot of smells, Mrs. Mimi … and you really seem intent on pushing them out one right after another. Granted, she released her first two fragrances with quite a bit of time in between but this new Forever fragrance is comin’ out hot on the heels of her last fragrance Ultra Pink. Is it just me or does something seem … off … about this ad? It kinda looks like her eyes are painted on or something … it’s kinda creepy. But, I digress … Ultra Pink, which can only be got at your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart, is on sale now but you’re gonna have to wait until next month to pick up this latest fragrance. It remains to be seen if this newest venture will sell well enough to evoke the sweet smell of success or not but something tells me that this won’t be the last we’ll be smelling of Mariah Carey.

As LAPD take an extra, hard look at his just released nekkid vid
Eric Dane Surfaces After ‘Sex Tape’ Scandal

Eric Dane was spotted making his way out of a medical office in LA yesterday just days after a naked “sex tape” involving Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart and some other chick hit the Internets. As if the public shame of having a nudie tape make the rounds on the Interweb wasn’t bad enough, now it turns out that the LAPD is looking into the possibility of illegal activity taking place in the video. It turns out that a DVD of the full length video was sent anonymously to the police, which sparked their investigation:

Eric Dane’s naked romp with wife Rebecca Gayheart and third wheel Kari Ann Peniche may have been a “private, consensual moment” according to his attorney. But according to the police, it could also have been a hotbed of illegal activity. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Thursday to E! News that its Detective Support and Vice division is taking a closer look at the DVD that mysteriously made its way into their possession this week, with an unnamed source saying the video may feature some malfeasance on the celebrities’ part. While the tape features the trio lolling around in bed and sharing a soak in the tub, no one actually has sex (which wasn’t illegal last time we checked, anyway). But Gayheart at one point says that she should lie down because she’s “so high,” per Gawker, which posted an edited version of the breastfest. No details were given about what authorities might be looking for, but LAPD spokesman Det. Via Nueva tells E! that they are in the process of examining the “voluminous contents” of the DVD. Well, yeah, they’re nice, but we wouldn’t call them voluminous…

Yipes! See, it’s one thing to appear in a “naked tape” (as Dane‘s lawyer likes to clarify since no actual sex acts are featured in the vid) but it’s quite another to brag about the state of one’s alleged drug intake on video … especially a video that has been made available to the world on the Internets and has been made available in “voluminous” footage on DVD to the police. But, to be honest, as scary as the prospect of prosecution may be, I find it highly unlikely that any criminal charges will come from this video. While the vid that we saw earlier this week was edited down and did not show everything, I really doubt the police will find anything that would result in criminal prosecution. Meh, you never know … mebbe there might be a cache of illegal substances featured in the DVD that police now have in their possession but methinks we would’ve heard about that by now. Again, as if any of y’all really needed a reminder, DON’T TAKE PHOTOS/VIDEO OF YOURSELVES NEKKID … and deffo don’t record any illegal drug activity. Duhvs.
