Kristen Stewart Fears The Media/Paparazzi Is After Her Soul

Yesterday we saw the new coverphoto of Kristen Stewart on the cover of the new issue of Dazed & Confused magazine looking, well, dazed and confused and today we get to see a couple photos from her Dazed photospread. Additionally, we get to hear from the lass herself explaining how she believes that the ever-present paparazzi is after her immortal soul. Uh huh. Dazed and confused alright:

It seems like everyone wants a piece of the “Twilight” cast these days. Ever since they began filming the first movie in the series, the “Twilight” stars have become immensely famous. And with that fame comes all the speculation about their personal lives and the media’s never-ending need to see what the group — especially its leading stars, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson — are up to at any moment of the day. It’s something that Stewart addresses in the September issue of the British magazine Dazed & Confused. And it’s a fitting topic following the photos that surfaced of Stewart and co-star Robert Pattinson getting cozy at a Kings of Leon concert last weekend in Canada. “The fact is, the paparazzi and most interviewers, they want your soul,” she said in the magazine. “It’s so scary because your persona … and I guess I now have one, because people think of me in a certain way … is all based entirely on quick snippets of crazed moments in your life. And that is what people then base their entire opinion of me on!” She added that in those interviews, people can misconstrue what she says in any number of ways. “Anything you say can come and bite you in the ass,” Stewart said. “It’s not even like you say things you don’t mean, it’s just that sometimes they come out wrong.” The 19-year-old also said that when she chooses projects, she’s careful to pick roles that she can relate to. “With ‘Adventureland,’ and pretty much everything else I’ve done, I’ve been lucky because they’re characters I really identified with,” she said. “Sometimes, I’ll read something and it has something about it that makes you need to live it, and if you don’t, it’s like an unconsummated relationship.”

You gotta admit, she’s absolutely right about the way people form opinions based on tiny snippets of her life that are seen from afar. But, because she is a carefully guarded celeb, that is all the public has to go on and the gaps have to be filled in by conjecture and assumption. She’s wise enough to know what’s going down, you’d think she’d be wise enough to understand that nothing about her sitch can be changed. The girl may appear a bit squirrely but I suspect she’s far more normal that most people believe or want to believe. At the end of the day, she needs to just enjoy her fame and fortune cuz it could disappear sooner than she prolly would like … the same goes for any celeb. It would behoove her greatly if she just focused on the blessings in her life cuz her bucket overfloweth these days.

"I led the way in the sexual-shenanigans department in the first season"
Ryan Kwanten Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten is featured inside the new issue of GQ magazine, the one with Michael Jackson on the cover, modeling some pieces from various Fall/Winter 09/10 collections and lookin’ YUM all the while. Here is a photo from Ryan‘s GQ photospread and the blurby little accompanying interview piece:

In season one of HBO’s True Blood, actor Ryan Kwanten had sex by a Dumpster, suffered a drug-induced perma-erection, was accused of murdering four women, and got swept up by a religious cult. Oh, and he was naked (at least partially) in eleven of twelve episodes. “I led the way in the sexual-shenanigans department in the first season,” says the 32-year-old Australian native, who first made a name for himself playing a lifeguard on an Aussie soap. Kwanten may play a dim womanizer on-screen, but offscreen he’s smart enough to suffer the indignities of his nude scenes with a smile. While other TV networks are struggling to keep the lights on, True Blood’s viewership has doubled, easing HBO out of its post-Sopranos slump and assuring Kwanten that he’ll remain taken care of through the global meltdown. Besides, Kwanten says, “This season, Anna Paquin is far more naked than I am.”

‘Tis true, Anna Paquin may be more nekkid overall but, to be honest, I don’t really pay much attetion … for obvs reasons. Ryan has that hot/dumb look that tends to suck people in immediately. He seems to get more interesting the less clothing that he’s wearing. After the jump, check out all the photos from Ryan‘s GQ photospread — yes, he’s shirtless in at least one of the photos …

The Jude'stache rises from the dead
‘Sherlock Holmes’ Actors Recalled For Reshoots

Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law and Rachel McAdams have been recalled to the London, England set of the Guy Ritchie directed film Sherlock Holmes. It’s not entirely clear why reshoots for the film have been ordered but it’s generally not a good sign when a director has to reshoot scenes for the film. At least one good thing comes from these reshoots … the resurrection of Jude Law‘s infamous Jude’stache:

It was a sad, sad day last May when I was forced to Peace the Spork Out the Jude’stache … so it’s nice to see it alive and well and back in action. Sure this Jude’stache is a fake Jude’stache worn only for the reshoots but it looks so much like the real Jude’stache that I don’t think we have any cause for complaint. Again, it is worrisome that Sherlock Holmes requires some reshoots — after all, X-Men Origins: Wolverine had the same problem, ordered some reshoots and, well, the movie still sucked. One hopes that these reshoots for Sherlock will make the film better and not worse. It is nice to see the gang in full costume again, if for only a short while. It wasn’t until I saw these new photos that I realized how much I missed the Jude’stache.

The mag remembers 'When MJ Was Cool' before the 'weirdness claimed his legacy'
Michael Jackson Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

GQ magazine has put a younger Michael Jackson on the cover of their new issue in tribute to the days, as they put it, when he was cool. Here is MJ on the cover of GQ along with a portion of the coverstory article titled Back in the Day:

Begin not with the miniseries childhood of father Joseph’s endless practice sessions but with the later and, it seems, just as formative Motown childhood, from, say, 11 to 14—years spent, when not on the road, most often alone, behind security walls, with private tutors and secret sketchbooks. A dreamy child, he collects exotic animals. He likes rainbows and reading. He starts collecting exotic animals now. His eldest brothers were at one time children who dreamed of child stardom. Michael never knows this sensation. By the time he achieves something like self-awareness, he is a child star. The child star dreams of being an artist. Alone, he puts on classical records, because he finds they soothe his mind. He also likes the old southern stuff his uncle Luther sings. His uncle looks back at him and thinks he seems sad for his age. This is in California, so poor, brown Gary, with its poisonous air you could smell from leagues away—a decade’s exposure to which may already have damaged his immune system in fateful ways—is the past. He thinks about things and sometimes talks them over with his friends Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross when they are hanging out. He listens to albums and compares. The albums he and his brothers make have a few nice tunes, to sell records, then a lot of consciously second-rate numbers, to satisfy the format. Whereas Tchaikovsky and people like that, they didn’t handle slack material. But you have to write your own songs. Michael has always made melodies in his head, little riffs and beats, but that isn’t the same. The way Motown deals with the Jackson 5, finished songs are delivered to the group, from songwriting teams in various cities. The brothers are brought in to sing and add accents. Michael wants access to the “anatomy” of the music. That’s the word he uses repeatedly. Anatomy. What’s inside its structure that makes it move? When he’s 17, he asks Stevie Wonder to let him spy while Songs in the Key of Life gets made. There’s Michael, self-consciously shy and deferential, flattening himself mothlike against the Motown studio wall. Somehow Stevie’s blindness becomes moving in this context. No doubt he is for long stretches unaware of Michael’s presence. Never asks him to play a shaker or anything. Never mentions Michael. But Michael hears him.

The TV Guide
Depeche Mode Brings ‘The Tour Of The Universe’ To Hollywood, CA

Last night my good friend Josh and I made our way to the famed Hollywood Bowl to see Depeche Mode live in concert on their second LA date on their Tour of the Universe. When tix went on sale for this tour earlier this year, I mistakenly thought the show here in LA would take place while David and I were to be in London, England (you may recall, he and I were planning to attend Michael Jackson‘s This Is It Tour at the O2 Arena for David’s birthday) but by the time I realized my mistake (and after our London trip got canceled for obvs reasons) all the tix for the DM shows here in LA were sold out … or so I thought. A few tix were released over the weekend and I managed to get two great center seats for the show:

I love seeing shows at the Hollywood Bowl and I’m so glad Josh is a big DM fan like I am. He picked me up with his convertible top down and the DM blaring, we had a blast. After the jump, check out some of the photos I snapped at the show last night and check out the full setlist …

Cam Gigandet Takes His Little Darling For A Shopping Excursion

Here are a few supercute pics of former Twilight star Cam Gigandet with his beautiful baby daughter Everleigh Rae (who was born last April) enjoying a lovely afternoon of shopping on Robertson Blvd. at Kitson Kids yesterday. His babymama Dominique Geisendorff was also along for the shopping trip but she is not pictured here … I mean, the pics of just Cam and Everleigh are just too damn cute … behold:

It’s a shame that Cam‘s Twilight character James had to be killed off in the first movie because he’s one of those pretty boy actors that you like to see pop up in movies from time to time. He was great in Never Back Down and not so great in The Unborn … but was a happy sight to see in both films :) His baby girl is so precious … it’s nice to see Daddy and Daughter hanging out together. He looks like a sweet dad. Hopefully he’ll get new work very soon so he can continue to take his little princess out for shopping excursions.

The kryptonite-powered cyborg villain comes to The CW
First Look: Metallo On ‘Smallville’

First off, I have to make clear that I do not watch Smallville very regularly, in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a full season of the show. Back in the say, I was a faithful fan of Lois & Clark but never really got into Smallville. This is odd for me because I am a HUGE DC Comics/Superman fan but, well, the show is entering its 9th season and I fear I’m too far behind to catch up. That said, I keep my eye on the show because I love modern retellings of the Superman story. Brian Austin Green, who starred on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles before it got canceled, is coming to Smallville in the upcoming 9th season and will portray the villainous cyborg Metallohere is our first look:

He was killed by a robotic assassin in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles last spring, and now Brian Austin Green is coming back to TV as a different kind of cyborg. In a two-episode arc on Smallville (beginning with the September 25 season premiere), Green plays John Corben, a new Daily Planet reporter who becomes the comic-book villain Metallo. In the aftermath of an accident, Corben is mysteriously outfitted with a heart made of kryptonite. Executive producer Kelly Souders won’t reveal the identity of his Frankenstein-esque savoir, but says Corben is turned into “a rough version of Metallo, a first attempt at the technology, and eventually he’ll get sleeker.” So might we see him again? “Well of course—it’s Smallville,” she says with a laugh. “We’re actually throwing some ideas around right now in the hopes that we might be able to bring him back for another episode.”

You might think that Metallo looks a lot like Iron Man, particularly because of the chest battery pack but it should be made clear that Metallo was created as a Superman villain by DC Comics in 1959 and Marvel Comics/Stan Lee created Iron Man in 1963. But, I digress … it’s great that Brian Austin Green will be back on TV this coming season even if he is appearing on Smallville for only a 2 episode story arc. See, every time I check in with Smallville to see what they’re up to I get inspired to watch the show. Mebbe the appearance of BAG will be the trick to get me to tune in more faithfully.

La Diva Latina graces the cover of the 15th Anniversary issue
Jennifer Lopez Does ‘In Style’ Magazine

Jennifer Lopez is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of In Style magazine, which is celebrating its 15th Anniversary in September. J. Lo is lookin’ her fabulous best for the mag, as usual. Click HERE to check out a few photos from her In Style photospread and read below for some info about her appearance in the mag:

Jennifer Lopez is showing everyone what 40 and fabulous looks like in the September issue of InStyle. The dancer/singer/actress/designer/mom graces the magazine’s 15th Anniversary Issue’s cover in a cutting-edge, sculpted Jil Sander dress and Hermès spiked cuffs, all in a sophisticated black and white palette (minus her bright cherry red lips). Inside, the black-and-white theme continues as the mother of two smolders in classic JLo style — thigh-high Christian Louboutin leather boots paired with a puffy-sleeve Louis Vuitton dress and Marc Jacobs bracelets, and later in a body-hugging hooded sweater by ALC, the label of Lopez’ ace stylist Andrea Lieberman. As seen in the shoot’s exclusive behind-the-scenes video, despite a short hiatus after having twins, Lopez still knows how to pose like a pro, working it in floor length gowns by Versace Atelier, Givenchy, and Nina Ricci, as well as a Herve Leger cut-out dress that proves Lopez isn’t packing an ounce of baby weight. “She knows how to play for the camera,” says photographer Michelangelo Di Battista of Lopez. “It makes my job easy.

It’s crazy, J. Lo never seems to age! She still looks as fabulous as ever. While I realize that a lot of her perfection in this photospread (as well as pretty much all photospreads in all magazines) is due to the adept use of Photoshop, you cannot deny that Jenny from the Block is still lookin’ amazing these days. In Style chose well when they selected her for the cover of their 15th Anniversary issue. After the jump, check out a short behind the scenes 60 Seconds of Style video from her photoshoot and a few excerpts from her coverstory interview…
