Here are new photos of Mischa Barton lookin’, well, odd on the NYC set of her new TV series The Beautiful Life which, in all honesty, doesn’t look all that beautiful at all:

Mischa has been in NYC ever since she was released from the psychiatric hospital here in SoCal and she’s been pretty much making the most of her new freedom. I believe these photos are of her first actual work on the TV show. I dunno, I still do not think she should be throwing herself into a new project so soon after her mental breakdown, and these photos don’t help, but she is a big girl and I guess she’s gonna do what she’s gonna do. I guess it would be easier to believe that she’s no longer crazy if she didn’t, well, look crazy.

Last month we learned that Lifetime TV will be airing a one-off episode called Project Runway: All-Star Challenge which will pit some of our fave designers from previous seasons in an ultimate challenge for design supremacy … as well as lead into the much-anticipated new season of Project Runway on August 20. Here is our first look at the cast of PR: ASC gathered together with hosts Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn:

While I am VERY excited for Season 6 of Project Runway to debut on Lifetime TV, I’m just about as excited to see the All-Star Challenge as well. Lifetime managed to cull together some of my all time fave designers and I cannot wait to see them go at it again. Last weekend we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar, pregs with her first child with hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr., had her baby shower here in SoCal with a few friends and family. New photos published in the new issue of US Weekly magazine give us a little peek at the festivities that took place. The shower was held on August 1 at The Rise in Hollywood and was attended by SMG‘s celeb friends including fellow Buffyverse alum (and on-screen little sister) Michelle Trachtenberg and actresses Shannen Doherty, Kristin Chenoweth and Eva La Rue (who co-starred with SMG back during her All My Children days):

The shower revelers snacked on iced cupcakes from Sprinkles, got make-up tips and mini-make-overs from Napoleon Perdis and snapped funny photos in the on-site photobooth. Sounds like a fun party. As I said last weekend, by the time the shower rolls around you know it’s almost time for the mommy-to-be to blow. Hopefully we’ll be congratulating SMG and FPJ on the glorious arrival of their newborn child!

Well, well now … what have we got here? It appears that Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford and Twilight‘s Ashley Greene are new close friends as the pair were seen snogging up a storm in the back of her limo as she made her way to the airport bound for Vancouver, BC earlier this morning. Chace and Ashley both attended the 2009 Teen Choice Awards last night and clearly hit it off with one another:

No word on whether or not this is a new fling, the beginning of a new relationship or a one-time thing but I’m sure these two are breaking hearts all over the place. My guess is that this was just a one time thing (tho one wonders what exactly went on betwixt the two of them last night leading up to this smoochy goodbye) but who knows … perhaps we’ll be seeing Chace and Ashley lockin’ lips again in the future.

Here is our first look at the cover artwork for Whitney Houston‘s first single Million Dollar Bill off her much-anticipated new album I Look to You available in stores on August 31:

The single artwork looks a little bit like Mariah Carey‘s album cover for her new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, don’t you think? While the songs I Didn’t Know My Own Strength and the title track I Look to You have previously been leaked to the Internets (either officially or unofficially), Million Dollar Bill is the official first single from the album. The track was written by Alicia Keys and can be streamed online in full HERE. The song has also recently be released to radio, so you might have already heard it. I think the song has a great uptempo sound to it … perfect for a first single. I’m anxious for the album to be released cuz I’m very curious to hear what other people think of the disc. But while we wait for the album’s release, we can at least content ourselves with this new track. So … what do y’all think? Do we love?

I flew home from Detroit yesterday evening with only a 30 min. delay … which, believe me, ain’t bad at all. I managed to use my time on the flight to finish The Lovely Bones (which I started last week). Oh man … what a strangely beautiful book. I’ll need some time to process it but it was not what I was expecting. I’m very relieved that I found satisfaction at the end of the story, I was afraid that I was gonna hate the way the story concluded. I’m so curious to see what the movie version will look like later on this year. Great book, thank you so much for all y’all’s suggestions.

I managed to watch the 1984 film Tron on my iPhone while flying home as well. I watched it many, many years ago but the story blew my mind, I had no idea WTF? was going on. Even watching it this second time wasn’t all that easy:

Man, I remember that this movie was so epic when it was released back in the day … truly one of the big sci-fi films of the decade. When I learned that Disney is releasing a sequel film next year titled Tron: Legacy, well, I had to re-watch this film to get caught up. I loved it. I also love the look and feel of the upcoming sequel:

David and I stayed in last night, watched True Blood and I started re-reading Good Omens for The Turtle Party: Book Club. It’s good to be home, even for a short while. My NYC trip will be along shortly.

Last night tweens of all ages convened at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City here in LA for the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. While the show doesn’t air on TV until tonight, the whole shebang was filmed last night. Britney Spears was on hand to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, the Ultimate Choice Award, from the Teen Choice folks but it was Twilight that cleaned up … taking home 11 surf board trophies. Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals and some deets from last night’s affair:

“Twilight” struck a vein at the Teen Choice Awards. The adolescent vampire drama dominated Sunday’s ceremony with 11 wins, including choice movie drama, romance, liplock, rumble and soundtrack. Kristen Stewart won the movie drama actress category while Robert Pattinson picked up two surfboard-shaped trophies — one for movie drama actor, another for male hottie. “We’ll see you guys in theaters November 20th,” co-star Taylor Lautner teased the squealing crowd. Lautner and Ashley Greene, who will appear alongside Stewart and Pattinson in the upcoming “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” were honored as the male and female movie fresh faces while Cam Gigandet was crowned movie villain. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke joined the cast on stage to accept the adaptation’s pack of trophies. The Teen Choice Awards, which were selected by over 83 million votes cast online, honor celebrities in TV, film, music and sports. Several winners — including 16-year-old Miley Cyrus and show hosts the Jonas Brothers — took home multiple trophies at the 11th annual ceremony at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Gibson Amphitheatre. Cyrus sailed away with six awards, winning for comedy TV show and actress for “Hannah Montana;” music/dance movie actress and hissy fit for “Hannah Montana: The Movie;” music single for “The Climb” and summer song for “Before the Storm” with the Jonas Brothers. Cyrus also presented Britney Spears the ultimate choice award. “I’m a huge fans of hers,” Cyrus said before a subdued Spears accepted her own surfboard. The Jonas Brothers won five trophies, including choice male red carpet icons. They kicked off the show performing on a tiny stage that moved through the audience. Throughout the taped ceremony, the trio completed dares submitted by fans. At one point, younger brother Nick was challenged to hug a lineup of female fans. “It’s just hugs,” Joe cautioned the women. “You’re not going for long-term relationships here, girls.” Other big winners included “Gossip Girl” and Zac Efron. Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick picked up TV drama actor, actress, villain and TV series awards for the sudsy CW show while Efron won for music/dance movie actor in “High School Musical 3″ and comedy movie actor and rockstar moment in “17 Again.” The ceremony itself was peppered with several odd moments. Kathy Griffin arrived on the red carpet with Levi Johnston, the teenage ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Mike Tyson took shears to Joe Jonas’ head as part of stunt. And before presenting the choice hottie awards, comedian Dane Cook pleaded to Vanessa Hudgens to keep her clothes on. The Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.

LOL! Yes, it was Dane Cook‘s shout-out to Vanessa Hudgens‘s nekkid pics that was the TRUE highlight of the show … which you can watch HERE just in case FOX decides not to air the interaction on TV tonight. Paris Hilton posted a couple of tweets on her official Twitter profile over the weekend confessing that she snuck off to a vacation destination in Tahiti but she failed to mention that she snuck off to said locale with her on-again boyfriend Doug Reinhardt (you may recall we learned a couple of weeks ago that Pug Dilton have gotten back together). Here is a photo snapped of the happy couple trying to be all incognito while on holiday this weekend (clearly, if they are vacationing together, they are truly back on again) along with her tweets:

I believe this is the first time we’ve seen Pug Dilton together in a photo since they broke up earlier this year. I wonder where else they have been sneaking off to together … HMMMM.

Did you know that Channing Tatum, hottie star of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, used to be a stripping go-go dancer? That’s right, US Weekly managed to scrounge up the incriminating photos of Channing, who used to go by the stage name Chan Crawford, when he was a member of the male-revue show called Male Encounters back in 1999. Unfortch for the lucky folks who got to see Chan in action with Male Encounters, the revue had a “no nudity” policy … but Chan did strip down to his undies … behold:

Apparently, Channing danced with Male Encounters for about a year and made $50 a night (plus tips). As exciting as this may sound to fans, his stint as a go-go boy ain’t nearly as interesting as his stint as a nude model. Yes, Channing used to model for high end fashion photoshoots that sometimes required that he be nekkid … for artistic purposes.
