Naomi Campbell stepped out with her manfriend Vladimir Doronin and friends to do a bit of partying at Acqua Pazza in Ponza, Italy this week. Clearly the supermodel felt it was a fine occasion to get all dressed up … so, natch, she decided to dress like Native American princess Pocahontas:

As a world famous supermodel, Naomi Campbell has access to an amazing closet of clothes and the vaults of many fashion houses. But last night the model opted for a down to earth fancy dress look as she stepped out with boyfriend, Russian boyfriend Vladimir Doronin. But thankfully she didn’t go for complete authenticity, as the mobile phone throwing model opted not to accessorise the outfit with a tomahawk. Naomi and Doronin headed out with a group of friends all in fancy dress, for dinner at restaurant Acqua Pazza in Ponza, Italy. And with her hair in plaits and a headdress, Naomi made sure to look the part of the famous squaw. Her boyfriend went for a similarly striking look – as a naval officer. The 39-year-old model has been enjoying her holidays in Italy for the last few weeks.

I didn’t get the impression from this report that the event was a costume party but it had to have been … right? Sane people don’t just dress up in costume to dine out at fancy restaurants, do they? Whatever the hell was goin’ on, at least Naomi looked good as Pocahontas. I’m gonna assume the event was costume only and not jump the conclusion that Naomi done lost her mind. After all, we know that Naomi Campbell is a bastion of sanity, right?

The newly divorced and freshly acquitted Amy Winehouse was spotted making her way out of a nightclub in London, England last night looking very much out sorts and not well at all. Amy was snapped sucking on her thumb as she tried to make it thru the crush of onlookers on her way to her car. Something tells me that she is not really handling life back in the big city very well:

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse appeared to be reverting to childhood as she sucked her thumb on a rare night out in London since her quickie divorce. At 25, she’s two decades too old to partake in thumb-sucking. But given recent events, including closure on her failed marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil and her appearance in court for allegedly attacking a fan, Winehouse looked to be in need of comfort. Dressed casually in dark denim jeans and a navy blue tank top, and with her signature beehive, the singer huddled under an umbrella with the protective arms of her minders surrounding her. She then gingerly crawled into the back of a waiting car with friend Tyler James, a lesser-known English singer. The pair had been drinking at favourite local haunt the Good Mixer pub in Camden, and left at a respectable time of 8pm … The Back To Black star has been looking a lot healthier since her eight-month stay on the island of St Lucia. Her once scabby and red skin has been replaced by a clearer complexion and even the odd freckle. But she is still clearly emotional, and seems to suck her thumb when times are bad.

Yikes! Amy Winehouse is but a shell of a person … the poor woman looks absolutely wrecked. I realize that she had to return to London from her isle paradise on St. Lucia to take care of her biz (ie. the divorce and her assault charge) but I think it’s high time she pack up her stuff and get back to the island as quickly as possible. The crazy London lifestyle seems to be too much for Amy to handle. She may still be a bit of a trainwreck in St. Lucia but at least she looks happier there. Sucking one’s thumb in public like this is not a good sign that she is doing well in London at all :(

Back in February, just days after we got word that Chris Brown brutally assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna, Wrigley’s announced that they would be suspending Brown‘s commercials for Doublemint gum until his legal troubles could be settled. At the time, the chewing gum company decided to hold off on firing him from this ad campaign until a determination of his guilt could be made. After Brown plead guilty to assault in court last month, Wrigley’s has finally decided to FIRE Chris Brown from their ad campaign … as a Doublemint spokesperson, he is dunzo, y’all!

He was on the bubble for a while — but now Wrigley is “formally terminating” their relationship with Chris Brown. The chewing gum company had previously “suspended” their campaign with Brown in February after the incident with Rihanna, saying they “believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen.” But last month, Brown pled guilty to felony assault — and now Wrigley has given him the permanent heave-ho … which means you’re more likely to hear that “Double Your Pleasure” song at a wedding than on TV. So Chris dodged the jail bullet — but his wallet may have a more serious hit.

I am all for Chris Brown losing as many endorsement deals as possible because, really, does any company want to be associated with a known woman beater? The boy may be talented but he is also a menace and should be punished for his crimes. I’m sure this dark mark on his persona will fade in time and the new endorsement deals will come rolling in somewhere down the line but, on this regard, I’m happy to know that Chris Brown may actually begin to feel that he is being punished for his heinous crime.

Yesterday we learned the happy news that on and off-screen lovers Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer (who co-star in HBO‘s True Blood) got themselves engaged to be wed … and today we get to see pics of Anna proudly showing off her new engagement bling. Anna took her doggies out for a stroll and very blatantly flashed her new engagement bling to the curious paparazzi:

I mean … I’m happy for Anna and Stephen and all but … I can’t say I’m too impressed with this ring. It looks like a mood ring that someone would buy at a museum gift shop for about $1.50. Unless this cloudy stone is some sort of expensive moon rock, I can’t say that I believe that Mr. Moyer spent much of his hard earned True Blood money on Anna‘s ring. BUT, it’s not the rock that’s important … it’s the sentiment and lurve behind the rock that matters. Again … much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple on their upcoming nuptials. Here’s hoping Anna‘s actual wedding ring is a bit more substantive ;)

So … last night David and I were invited to attend the Hollywood premiere screening of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and we HAPPILY made our way to Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. for the event. Ever since it was first announced last year that G.I. Joe was headed for the big screen I was ANXIOUSLY awaiting its release. I’ve been a HUGE G.I. Joe fan since I was a young child. My best friend in Elementary and Junior High School, Jeff Fuhrman, and I used to pay G.I. Joes together and would pretend to be characters from the cartoon all the time (particularly when we were learning how to swim in 6th grade, we were both very scared of the huge diving platform but pretended to be brave Joes when we had to take the plunge). I loved collecting the G.I. Joes from the 80′s (ie. the small action figures) rather than the larger, Barbie-sized dolls from the 60′s and 70′s (tho I do have an anniversary edition Cobra Commander action figure that is on the larger size) … but I’m digressing. I’ll admit, the first commercial for the movie that we saw on SuperBowl Sunday earlier this year had me worried … then there was all that bad buzz … but I can ASSURE you — the movie is really freakin’ fun!

From the first peek at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as The Doctor/Cobra Commander, I had hope that the final product would be as cool as the cartoon was and I am SO RELIVED that the movie turned out so well. Let me be clear here, G.I. Joe is LIGHT YEARS better than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I’m convinced that fans of the cartoon will love the movie version … which is basically a cartoon come to life. The colors are vibrant and bold and really make it feel like a real-life cartoon. The FX are STUNNING. This movie was made by Paramount, the same studio who did the Star Trek movie … they know FX. I believe it cost $175 million to make this film and it shows … they did not skimp on the CGI, I just loved all of the battle/action scenes. Let me address the “robot suits” used in the film that everyone seems to hate. To be honest, the suits are just G.I. Joe versions of the Iron Man suit … it worked in that movie and it works in this movie, too. Plus they are only used in one action sequence … but really, all of the action sequences are amazing! Three key sayings from the original cartoon are used in the movie and very adeptly, I might add. Be on the listen out for the classic G.I. Joe phrases — A real American hero, Knowing is half the battle and “life-like hair and Kung-Fu grip” (which was the way the action figures were described on the packaging). There are a few G.I. Joe cameos which I don’t want to spoil … but wait ’til you see who plays Gung Ho ;) I also loved how multicultural and gender friendly the film is … the Joes and Cobras are made up of many races and the women are not treated as weak characters. Sienna Miller‘s Baroness is BAD ASS! In all honesty, she was my fave character (tho Storm Shadow comes in a close second). Channing Tatum has a shirtless scene … people, what more could you want?

There are a few things that I didn’t like but they are so marginal, they don’t really detract from the movie overall. Marlon Wayans (Ripcord) is the weakest character in the film. He does the comedy relief but mostly, I just wished he’d shut up. I REALLY didn’t like what they did to Cover Girl … you’ll know what I mean when you see it but I was all WTF??? That part didn’t make any sense to me at all. I didn’t really like the connection between Duke and The Baroness (but I did like the connection between The Doctor and The Baroness). She is a purely evil character and should stay that way. Snake Eyes never speaks, we all know this, so why does his costume have lips? It’s freaky … I could do without the lips.

I did like many of the changes to the story that have been added for the movie … the familial connections between characters, the revelation that the Baroness‘s last name is de Cobray and the explanation on how Zartan is able to be a true master of disguise. Seriously, I could go on and on. I had A BLAST last night … I cannot wait to see the movie again. I’m just so happy that one of my fave childhood cartoons was turned into a very entertaining movie. GO SEE IT. I’m pretty sure you’ll love it. I loved it a lot. The ending was BRILLS!!!!!! See it and then lemme know what you think.

Last night Channing Tatum (Duke), Sienna Miller (The Baroness), Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), Byung-hun Lee (Storm Shadow) and others (including Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt who where proudly showing off her new issue of Playboy magazine) were on hand at Grauman’s Chinese Theater here in Hollywood, CA for the LA premiere of their new Summer blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The promo machine for the film got started last month in Sydney, Australia before making it’s way to Tokyo, Japan and then arriving on our shores in NYC earlier this week. I, too, was in attendance at the Hollywood premiere of G.I. Joe and, while my full review is on the way, it is with great pleasure that I tell y’all that THE MOVIE RULES!! I enjoyed G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 10,000 times more than the moronic Transformers 2 … and, to be honest (as far as blockbuster films go), I enjoyed it about as much as I enjoyed Star Trek earlier this year. Again, I’ll get to all of that later on … but gettin’ back to the premiere, I have to tell you … the Joes clean up pretty nice. Of course Channing was too hot for words (and yes, I did get to inadvertently run into him at the after party) but I was stunned by both Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols last night. Sienna was really workin’ that Hollywood glamor. The premiere was really fun and I can’t wait for all y’all to see the film and judge it for yourselves. It’s big, fun, outrageously over-the-top and will really serve the fans well, I think.

Nicole Richie was on hand in Beverly Hills, CA last night to debut her fashionable new line of maternity wear for A Pea in the Pod. Last month it was announced that Richie and Pod were teaming up to design a line of stylish wear for the pregs woman to wear and last night was its coming out party. Nicole, her burgeoning baby bump and others walked the red carpet last night in celebration … behold:

One of Tinsel town’s most fashionable moms-to-be is adding a little flair to maternity clothing. Nicole Richie, known for her Bohemian style, is teaming up with A Pea in the Pod to create a maternity wear collection, The former “The Simple Life” star announced on her blog on Tuesday. She’s extending her House of Harlow brand, which currently includes her successful jewelry range, to offer chic clothing choices for expectant women. Richie, 27, who gave birth to her line’s namesake, daughter Harlow, in January 2008, is pregnant with her and Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden’s second child. An “excited” Richie posted behind-the-scenes pictures from her shoot with photographer James White for the upcoming collection.

Our dear Britney Spears, who we last saw around these here parts partying it up with Lindsay Lohan late into the wee hours of the A.M. earlier this week, was spied lookin’ all faboo and shizz on the SoCal set of a new photoshoot where her ensemble consisted of a skimpy white bikini, a pair of hot shoes and a sassy black hat. It’s unclear what the photos will be used for but considering Brit Brit just nabbed 7 nominations at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and will be on hand Monday night at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards (to collect a Lifetime Achievement Award) it’s possible she is doing promos for either of those two shows. Whatever the shoot is for, I cannot help but notice how amazing my girl looks … behold:

Ahhh … it is such a lovely sight to see Britters lookin’ so well. She does have a great body, why not show it off every once-in-a-while? I can’t wait to see the outcome of this photoshoot whatever it is for. There have been some reports that Brit is planning to perform at the Teen Choice Awards but it is my understanding that she is merely attending the awards to collect her award and WILL NOT be performing. My hope is that she is saving her big awards performance for the MTV VMAs which will take place in NYC on September 13. We shall see … we shall see.
