Back in May, Victoria Beckham launched her latest batch of solo ad campaign photos for Emporio Armani Women’s Underwear before she teamed up with her hubby David Beckham for a couple of new joint ad campaign photos in July (you can revisit the behind the scenes video from the Armani photoshoot HERE). Today we get to see the latest Armani ad featuring VB all by her lonesome … this time, she’s wearing her undies while climbing a horizontal ladder … which will SURELY inspire folks to rush out and buy bras and panties:

Victoria Beckham has featured in yet another campaign for fashion label Armani. Reprising her wacky role as a geisha-style lingerie model, Victoria posed provocatively in a metallic bikini and high heels. Having worked her way up to Hollywood royalty from the humble beginnings of Hertfordshire, Victoria is no doubt used to climbing ladders. Notably absent from the shot though is husband David, who regularly features in the campaign with Victoria … This new shot is just the latest in the couple’s multi-million pound advertising deal with the Italian fashion house. Last year, David signed a £20million deal to become the firm’s new global ambassador, while his wife later clinched her own £12million deal to represent Armani underwear.

I ain’t gonna lie … the Armani Underwear ads just don’t do it for me without Becks and his bulge in the mix somewhere but I guess VB‘s gotta make her own money somehow. Perhaps this new solo photo of Posh is a signal that mebbe a new solo photo of Becks is on the way? Here’s hoping. Fingers and toes, y’all … fingers and toes.

Janet Jackson, who was hit really hard by the loss of her older brother Michael Jackson in June and then reports of her split with Jermaine Dupri in July, just relaunched her official website and has announced to fans that she is ready to move forward with her life and get back to work. In addition to announcing that she will appear in a new Tyler Perry movie and will be releasing a new book later on this year, she also reveals that she will release her next studio album during the “first quarter of 2010″:

Later this year, Janet will publish her first book, providing an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with issues of self-esteem. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her uniquely successful career not only in music but in television and motion pictures. The next months and new year will also bring another film starring Janet as she joins Tyler Perry in his sequel, Why Did I Get Married Too, followed by a new album slated to released during the first quarter of 2010. Summarizing her career and her incredibly raw albums, Janet has said, “Here I am. I’m coming on. Musically, I have it. You want it. And I’m giving it to you.” Continuing her growth as an artist and as a person Janet intriguingly states, “I’m proud to have stayed in the game and survived. And I’m proud that I’ve remained true to myself. But if you go back and listen to the music, you’ll hear how that self is always changing.”

I know this is great news for longtime Janet fans (my boo David, among them). I’m happy to know that Janet is focusing on her work during this tough time and hopefully she will find solace in her art. I haven’t been too fond of her last few albums but I full support her work and wish her nothing but the best. Janet joined Twitter about 17 hours ago and has already amassed over 25,000 followers with just one tweet. It really does look like she is ready to get back in the saddle again.

Milo Ventimiglia is among the stars (including Will Arnett, Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Channing Tatum and others) who appear in a new series of online parody videos for Mean magazine called Cinemash. Milo‘s video features our fave Heroes hero portraying the role of Oldboy as he opens a can of whoop-ass on a bunch of AIG executives. For those of you who are not aware, Oldboy is a 2003 South Korean film that highlights the virtues of bloody vengeance. Here is what Milo looks like as Oldboy in this new parody video along with the Cinemash press release:

Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Elle magazine … and while the coverstory interview has not been released online just yet, Elle is already teasing the issue by releasing Jen‘s coverphoto, a few excerpts from her interview and a very revealing photo:

On using humor to get through tough situations: “I remember being 7 and asking my mom if I was as pretty as [my best friend] Monique. Firstly, kudos to Jen for finally realizing and accepting her lot in life … she will forever be the terribly wealthy pretty girl who is destined to remain single for all time immemorial. Secondly, wow her mom was a beyotch! Even if your mama doesn’t think you’re as pretty as other kids, the least they could do is lie (tho, I’m of the mind that good moms could never see another child more beautiful than their own). I wonder what other nuggets of info Jennifer will be revealing in this issue of Elle magazine. On Monday we learned that the newly blonde Britney Spears made her way out to a club late Sunday night to enjoy a night on the town with some friends … what we didn’t know at the time was that Brit Brit met up with the also recently new blonde Lindsay Lohan at the club and the ladies partied together. While a report from Life & Style magazine makes clear that the old BFFs didn’t do anything “crazy” on their night out, I can’t help be be reminded of those dark days when Britney was a complete trainwreck mess a couple of years ago … she was spotted partying with Lindsay and Paris Hilton on occasion. Could those dark days be upon us again:

Britney Spears may have a new hairstyle, but she’s back to partying with old friends. On Aug. 2, Britney showed up after 2 a.m. at Full Frontal at The Grand Star Jazz Club in LA, where she danced and chatted with Lindsay Lohan. Friends from Andy LeCompte’s hair salon, where Britney got her new blond ‘do earlier that day, joined the girls. An insider tells Life & Style, “There was no craziness, just a lot of fun and dancing.” Britney and Lindsay stayed until the club closed, around 3 a.m. Lindsay tells Life & Style, “It was such fun!”

Man … I’m not gonna lie … this is worrisome behavior. I totally believe that Britney and Lindsay played nice and stayed out of trubs but this seems like a very slippery slope to me. Britters has been clean, we presume, for sometime now … but the temptations that exist in club environments could be too much for someone in recovery to handle. Let’s not forget, Britney is still under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears. I’m glad that Britney is tasting some freedom again … let’s just hope she is able to handle it better this time around. What do y’all think … is it too soon for Britney to be partying with anyone, let alone partygirl Lindsay Lohan?

Yesterday evening David and I were invited to a special preview screening of the new Meryl Streep/Amy Adams film Julie & Julia here in Century City. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the film beforehand … only what I saw from the few trailers I had seen. I remember watching a few eps of The French Chef starring Julia Child when I was younger and I’ve always loved her so … the movie sounded fun:

It really should come as no surprise that the film is a veritable tour de force. Meryl is simply amazing! The whole film is thoroughly charming, I loved it from start to finish. It’s interesting, Julie Powell — the food blogger whose book the movie is based on — started her blog in August 2002 (which you can still read online HERE) … the same month and year that I started my first blog (August 13, 2002 to be exact). I really love her story … seeing it come to life on the big screen was a true revelation. While the film focuses mainly in the “relationship” between Julie Powell and Julia Child, it also focuses on each woman’s relationship with their respective husbands. The movie is funny, poignant, romantic and very, very sweet. David and I really loved it … as did the audience, who audibly gave their approval throughout the film. Foodies MUST see this movie, you simply must. I do encourage all y’all to check it out when it opens in theaters this Friday. I won’t be surprised if Meryl gets nominated for her performance as Julia Child. She looked like she was having the time of her life in this role, it was really fun to watch. To be honest, it’s a movie that I would see again ;)

This afternoon our friend Marissa is flying in to LA from NYC on her way to Hawaii and she is spending her 3 hour layover with us … it’ll be amazing to see her in our neck of the woods. Tonight, I’m meeting up with my friends Tamar, Ollie and Caleb to get our Book Club started … we haven’t decided on a book just yet so I presume we’ll get that sorted out tonight … along with our club’s secret handshake ;) I promise to share our Book Club progress along the way.

In June we got our first look at the promo artwork for the upcoming 4th season of the amazing Showtime series Dexter and last month we got our first look at the trailer video for the show which premieres on September 27. Today we get to check out a very cute new promo poster for Dexter which kinda encapsulates the tone of the coming season:

OMG … love this campaign! Dexter as a daddy is just too brills … however will he be able to fit in all those ritual slayings in between naptime and diaper changing? Making Dexter a new father is a great new plot development that can either make for a great season … or a not-so-great season. I’ve already made clear that I kinda didn’t love the last season with the meddlesome Jimmy Smits character but I really loved the 1st and 2nd seasons of the show so … I have high hopes season 4 will be just as good. September 27 can’t get here soon enough for me.

With filming to begin shortly on the third installment of The Twilight Saga, the support cast of newest sequel film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have begun making their way to Vancouver, BC this week in preparation. While the big stars — Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — prolly won’t be flying in to town until the last minute, the support staff has to arrive early. Here are pics of Kellan Lutz (who plays Emmet Cullen), Ashley Greene (who plays Alice Cullen), Xavier Samuel (who plays Riley, Victoria‘s newborn vampire) and the newly cast Bryce Dallas Howard (who plays Victoria, taking over for Rachelle Lefevre who was unceremoniously fired from the role just last week) arriving in Vancouver last night:

As you may already know, Kellan and Ashley play members of the central vampire family (the Cullens) in the film and Bryce plays the evil vampire Victoria who is hellbent on killing Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) for her role in the killing of her beloved companion James (played in Twilight by Cam Gigandet) who was actually slaughtered by hero vamp Edward (played by Robert Pattinson) while saving Bella. Xavier will play Riley, a newborn vampire created by Victoria to lead her army of vamps against the Cullens and their tenuous werewolf friends (lead by Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner) who are banded together to protect the life of the very human Bella. Ye gods, you just *know* a story this epic is going to be AWESOME! Well, we’ll see. The other castmembers of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse should be streaming into Vancouver all week long … so get ready, Canucks. The vampires are coming.

In early July we learned that former popstar and sometimes actress Hilary Duff would be joining the cast of Gossip Girl in the show’s 3rd season this Fall and yesterday was her first day on the job. Here are a few pics of Hil D. with her new GG cohorts Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively on her first day of filming on the NYC set of the show:

Clearly, Hilary is trying to get more acting gigs under her belt … she’s been in a couple of movies recently and did a guest stint on Law & Order: SVU earlier this year. This new gig on stint on Gossip Girl could be just the right vehicle to get her back on the acting map. Long gone are her days on Lizzie Maguire, so she’s got some work to do to get back in the public consciousness as an actress. While her attempt to get her own show on NBC, titled Barely Legal, didn’t get picked up by the network at least she can take heart that the folks at GG took pity saw that she would be a great asset to the show. I mean … she’s already decked out in a hipster straw hat … she’s well on her way. Do any of y’all think Hil will blend seamlessly in with the rest of the cast or will she stick out like a big “guest star” sore thumb?
