Back in June we heard about a jewelry theft on the set of an Elle magazine photoshoot (were a reported $400,000. in jewels went missing) and at the time we heard that Lindsay Lohan, who wore the jewels in the photoshoot, was among those questioned in the disappearance. Dina Lohan, L. Lo‘s mother and bastion of verity, went on the record to deny that her daughter had anything to do with the jewelry theft … Elle magazine issued a statement also exonerating Linds of the theft. Today we get to see the photos from that infamous Elle magazine photoshoot of Lindsay rockin’ all the jewels that, not long after she wore them, went missing:

Lindsay Lohan looks all temptress sex vixen in these pictures as she sparkles in front of the camera wearing blinging jewellery and over-the-knee boots. But this is the photoshoot where thieves stole £24,000 of Dior diamond jewellery including earrings and a necklace. The actress, 23, is wearing the bracelets and rings that they did not make away with. Despite the theft, the Mean Girls star still managed to shine in the photos wearing tiny hot pants and a figure-hugging bodice. Police are still investigating the jewellery theft from the studio in Islington, north London in June. A police spokesman said there have been no arrests and Elle magazine, which arranged the shoot, said they did not believe the actress was ‘in any way responsible’. Lindsay, who has dyed her hair peroxide blonde since the shoot, is rumoured to be ready to film Robert Rodriguez’s new film Machete, which is about to start shooting. He dropped huge hints to MTV.com, saying: ‘We’re casting right now, and the script just came out great. There are a lot of people we’re sending it to, big names – but nobody that we’ve signed yet.’ He added: ‘Lindsay’s cool. There’s actually a cool part in the movie for her – if she takes it.’ She told followers on Twitter the hair colour change was for a film role. Replying to one fan who told her ‘I miss your red hair – but you look beautiful as always’, she tweeted back, ‘it’s for a movie I miss it too… I begged (not to have it dyed). LOL.’

Damn, she looks so much better with her red hair (rather than that garish blonde job she just had done) … I can’t wait ’til she dyes it back. Regarding the stolen jewels, I don’t necessarily think that Lindsay had anything to do with the missing baubles … particularly because even if she did nick them, she’d never be able to wear them out in public. Back in April, Dev Patel‘s mother spilled the beans that her son was involved in a real-life romance with his Slumdog Millionaire co-star Freida Pinto after a photo of the couple lookin’ all lovey-dovey was snapped while the pair were on holiday. This weekend, Freida and Dev finally went public with their “secret affair” at a screening event of Slumdog in London, England. Clearly the couple cannot hide their lurve for one another any longer … as is plainly obvs from these new photos of the couple this weekend:

They’ve been coy about their burgeoning romance until now – but Dev Patel and Freida Pinto had no qualms about cosying up together at London’s Somerset House over the weekend. The Slumdog Millionaire stars – who, in a case of life imitating art, reportedly fell in love during filming – appeared together at an outdoor screening of the Oscar-winning hit on Friday night. And even though there was no red carpet in sight, the young actors didn’t skimp on the style stakes. Former model Freida, 25, looked flawless in a chic LBD and strappy sandals, while 19-year-old Dev rocked the mod look in a sharp black Dolce and Gabbana grey blazer, jeans and white shirt. Only a plaster on his forehead – reportedly courtesy of him hitting his bedroom cabinet while climbing out of bed – evoked his hapless Skins alter-ego, Anwar. Rumours surrounding the pair – who last week tried to give paparazzi the slip following a romantic dinner in New York – have swirled since they were catapulted to fame at the beginning of this year. At first, they insisted they were ‘just good friends’ , with Dev claiming: ‘There’s no romance. I’ve never had a girlfriend. I’ve always been focused on acting. But for now I’m having the time of my life.’ … Mumbai-born Freida – who has nabbed a slew of high-profile magazine covers including Maxim, Cosmo and Vogue since Slumdog’s Oscar glory – is due to appear in Woody Allen’s latest opus, which is scheduled to begin filming in London this summer. Dev, meanwhile, has recently been in Philadelphia filming The Last Airbender, and is also rumoured to be playing a lead role in a Hindi remake of Nadodigal.

Seriously, this has to have been the worst-kept secret romance in history … but they make a damn cute couple, nonetheless. It’s such a horrible Hollywood cliché for actors to fall in love while making a movie but something about these two hooking-up is really cute. They look good together … and I highly doubt Dev hit his head on a “cabinet” as he claims. You wanna bet it was the headboard? HMMM??? Whatever the case may be, I love Freida and Dev together … here’s hoping going public won’t turn out to be the jinx that breaks them up.

Last week all the Twilight news was about the firing of Rachelle Lefevre and the hiring of Bryce Dallas Howard but this week it looks as if the focus has moved back to promoting the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Two new character posters have been released to the Internets to hype up the film and, presumably, move focus away from the controversy and back to the rabid fandom. Here is the newly released poster artwork featuring the film’s protagonist Bella Swan:

Pretty standard, kinda meh. To be honest, the poster of Edward Cullen is very similar … just a close-up of his face … but considering how many Twilighters go ga-ga over the mere sight of the lad, well, I guess they’ll be happy with any new promo artwork that features Robert Pattinson as Edward. Last week Lindsay Lohan bleached her beautiful red hair to a light platinum blonde and this weekend Britney Spears followed suit. You may recall that Brit Brit decided to change up her look for the European leg of her tour The Circus starring Britney Spears and she dyed her hair a dark brown as part of her new look (you may recall she and her agent/paramour Jason Trawick got a couple’s make-over in June). Many people were none too pleased with the darker shade but Britters appeared to be happy with it. But on Saturday, she already seemed to be over her darker locks:
