So Trent… The first two singles are ballads? Doesn’t seem like much of a comeback… I’m SO excited for this album but I have a feeling I may be disappointed…

    • @Jay — Firstly, Whitney Houston sings ballads, it’s her forte. Secondly, ‘I Look To You’ not necessarily a single and is most likely being given away since it already leaked to the Internets last week. Keep the faith, this album is really good. For that matter, ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Stregnth’ has not been announced as a single, it’s just a song that leaked to the Internets as well.

  2. Mariah says:

I’m waiting for Million Dollar Bill to blow me away.

  3. Britney says:

Love this song…it did not disappoint. I love Whitney and her ballads. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!!!

  4. Jay says:

Trent – I think they are both great songs. But her voice doesn’t seem like what it used to be. I was waiting for that power house voice she used to have. Does she deliver on the other songs as “THE VOICE” that she used to be?

    • @Jay — You’ll have to decide that for yourself, I think she still sounds amazing … but let’s remember, she’s got a lotta years under her breath these days. Not even Mariah Carey can hit those high notes anymore.

  5. Jadedkitten says:

I’m sorry but I see this flopping ballads may be Whitney’s thing but does anyone want to heard a ballad on the radio now a days?

  6. Tony says:

YAY perfect Birthday Present to me! :-D lol

  7. Ashley says:

Absolutely love it! :) Yay for Whitney!

  8. Marcus says:

Allegedly the date was moved up due to the Grammy 2010 cutoff being August 31st. Also allegedly they are going to release “I Look To You” as well as “Million Dollar Bill” at the same time just in different markets. i.e, one on urban radio and one on pop radio.

As far as the song itself, I love it. It has great meaning considering where she has come since leaving the deadbeat dad BB. Welcome back to music that you will still know years from now. Kudos to Ms. Houston looking forward to seeing you at #1

  9. CHASE says:

Wait, does this seem smart? I mean, she hasn’t even recorded a music video or released a single officially… where’s the promo, BB?

  10. Ella says:

well one good thing about that is that now whitney fans can get a copy of her song legitimately without giving any money to the disgusting pedophile R. Kelly.

  11. Steven says:

Well, um, the best I can say is, she sings those same five notes really well. Where are the soaring vocals? I heard the little “whitney-isms”…but incredibly underwhelming and quite frankly, she does not sound like Whitney Houston. It’s such a shame that drugs have destroyed one of the most beautiful voices ever. Heartbreaking.

  12. DivaLover says:

Please !!! Give Whitney a break. Even if she hadn’t done all that mess with BB her voice would not have sounded the same as it did 20 years ago. So get over it. Even at half strength she’d be better than 85% of the so called singers out today. I’m just glad she’s back and singing again. She could have easily died and ended up 6 feet under like another recent great 80′s/90′s star that just passed.
