‘Torchwood: Children Of Earth’ Invasion
"We Are Coming. We Are Coming. We Are Coming ... Back!"

Last May we learned that the 3rd season of the sci-fi masterpiece series Torchwood would be airing as a unified 5-part miniseries titled Children of Earth. The entire mini-series has already aired in the UK and aired Mon-Fri of this week here in the US … but in case you missed any of it, the entire series can be seen IN FULL on BBC America tomorrow starting at 1pm:

I was sent the entire mini-series on DVD and HOLY EFFING SHIZZ is it awesome! I’ll be spending my afternoon finishing up the eps I’ve yet to see but I strongly urge those of you with the time (or the DVR space) to tune in to BBC America tomorrow to catch the entire mini-series. The first ep get things off with a creepy BANG! that will surely pull you in and force you to watch the rest of the eps. Torchwood is one of those amazing shows that gets everything right … the writing, the acting, the storytelling … if you’re not watching Torchwood you are doing yourself a grave disservice. Check it out y’all, I promise you will love it!!

It played Mon-Fri on BBC-America. It was amazing to the nth degree. I cried my eyes out during the last episode. It was really well done though.

  2. daniela says:

I was so devastated after day 4 and 5. I thought it was a good story but series 3 changed Torchwood beyond recognition. Wasn’t too happy with it.

  3. Marianne says:

I can’t agree with you more, Trent! I was sucked in by the commercials and HAD to see this show. It’s wonderful! I was surprised how emotionally invested I was after day 3. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out for so long. I hope Season 4 is in the future.

The last good bye wasn’t that believable. ( i wanted to see more of a struggle from Jack. Plus why did they kill Yanto. I thought the whole series would continue, but they are waiting for BBC to pick the show up. On the bright side NEw Dr WHo today & Primeval. Ohhh and Skins season 2 is coming…. Love BBC America

  5. E says:

“Children of Earth” was relentless nihilistic misery and I don’t ever want to watch the show again. Should have been called “Children of Death”.

  6. Steph says:

I’m not a tv person, but I love this show. However, this season traumatized me. Period. I love this show, and the characters, but seriously? Did they have to *** (in case you haven’t seen it yet)?!?!?!!? I wanted to scream! How am I supposed continue watching it now? Mr. Davies better have some kind of major master plan. Otherwise, I’m incline to agree with ‘E’ and ‘daniela’.

  7. N says:

The Children of the Earth specials were absolutely amazing! I thought it was a great ending for the series.

  8. Hannah says:

For those that don’t have BBC America, Comcast on Demand is playing it all under free tv series. Thats how I’m watching it. Just finished day 4.

  9. leah says:

I’ve been watching all week since BBCA has been playing it all this week, as a proper mini-series. It ended with a bang… not sure what a new series will bring since they killed off Ianto. Killing Owen and Tosh last series was pretty bad, there goes all the chemistry!

However, new Doctor Who starts this Sunday on the BBCA. Wahoo!

  10. Dayna says:

Gosh all my favorite characters are being killed off :*-(

also, did anyone else LOVE it when Jack was regenerating
    it was amazing.

Check out Being Human, its an awesome british scifi show
    :-)

I watched the first three episodes of the first season of Torchwood, but I somehow couldn’t get into it. My partner Mark and I watched Season 3 on BBC-America this past week at the urging of his co-worked who is OBSESSED with John Barrowman. I must admit that by Friday I was obsessed with Ianto Jones! Days 4 and 5 were completely and totally gut-wrenching!! It reminded me a bit of the last days of Buffy . . .

  12. Jake says:

I don’t watch the show but it makes me really happy that Cardiff is getting some limelight. I had a bitch fit when I saw stills of when Kylie was in Dr Who and was standing where I walk pretty much everyday.

  13. Cait says:

So in previous interviews Russell T Davies said they had season 4 all ready to go if it was picked up. But then shortly after the series aired in the UK I read a few news articles saying that he was moving to the US (LA to be specific). What does that mean ? Has anyone else heard anything more ? I was heartbroken to find out that David Tennant is leaving as Doctor Who, and now this.

  14. Amanda says:

I wasn’t so impressed with previous seasons, but this mini-series was fantastic! The thing about Russell T Davies is if he gets it right, he gets it right. But if he gets it wrong, it goes horribly wrong! But this one was well done. Bravo!

  15. Shade says:

    @Cait
RTD is going to America but he isn’t leaving Torchwood although he i leaving Dr Who. I did hear a rumor that it might have been picked up today. Not really sure about that though to be honest. But from the viewing figures in the UK alone I would say it’s definitely coming back.

Anyway… I love that you like this show Trent. I liked CoE but I have to say I was majorly disappointed with another death. There has been a pretty strong reaction over here from the fans about it. I have to say I think they’ve taken out the most empathic character. :( But what did you think about it Trent? When you’ve finished watching of course :)
