The Waiting Game
Like the rest of the 1.6 million people who registered for tickets to attend Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples Center here in downtown LA tomorrow at 10AM, I kept checking my email inbox to find out if I had been selected as one of the lucky few who will be allowed to attend the services tomorrow …

… and in just a few hours I will find out for sure if I will be allowed to attend. If I am able to procure tickets for tomorrow’s service, I will do my best to share as much info from the service via Twitter (you can read my Twitter profile HERE) to try and include as many of y’all as possible in the service. If I am not allowed to attend, then I will be at home just like so many of you watching the events unfold on live television. I am hopeful that I will be successful but, well, you just never know until you get that wristband secured to your arm and those tickets are placed in your hand.
No big plans for tonight just yet … David and I have been invited to a fun event in WeHo that we may attend but we’ve not decided whether or not we’re going out. Keep those fingers crossed, hopefully Pink is the new Blog will be able to report live from the Michael Jackson memorial service tomorrow morning.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Trent. You always keep your readers informed and hopefully you get that email. Will keep checking back here and via twitter to see if you got selected…

I thought you Twittered last night saying you didn’t get picked? Either way, I thought of you this morning seeing people who registered, got picked, but don’t live in California and now don’t know what to do.
Idiots. If those people hadn’t registered, people who actually LIVE in California and want to go (like you) would be able to.
I really hope you get to go, Trent! You always keep us informed, and its history!

I received my denial email this morning but fortunately two of my co-workers received the golden emails and will be attending tomorrow. One is walking around with her wristband on. We’re joking that we’re going to slip something into her water bottle and saw her hand off. Yeah a bit graphic but it’s for Michael’s memorial!!!
@Gina Z.: Yeah, they are idiots! I just hope there is a way for them to decline the tickets and they then go back into a queue to be redistributed.

Why is anyone attending this? Why are we celebrating a psychologically demented pedophile? I just don’t get it. RIP MJ – now please return to regular television programming and real news.

Ay, Linda.
Beat it.
Thank you.
July 6th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Ay, Margie,
Linda’s right.
Dude didn’t even WANT TO BE BLACK and all these leaders of the Black community are acting like he was some savior or something. He didn’t even want black children, y’all! He hated being black! But go ahead and deify this perv. This whole show is so ridiculous and hypocritical.
July 6th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Ay Neferteri.
I’m a big supporter of child’s rights and it pains me when children are hurt especially in a sexual manner. However, this man was tried and cleared. Besides, what overwhelming evidence pointed to him being a perv? I’m not going to lie and say the man was all there. He obviously needed a therapist to help what pain fame and celebrity caused not to mention his father. As for his whole skin color, who knows what he was thinking? It goes back to my comment about him needing therapy. How is it hypocritical though? Say what you want but his contribution to music and well as his efforts to combat famine, etc. cannot and should not be denied. Besides, tomorrow, don’t tune in. Let the people who want to watch enjoy and celebrate what Michael Jackson did for music.

Innocent people don’t pay off accusers, especially when it’s child abuse. Period. Dude slept with little boys, admitted it, paid em off with MILLIONS, and since it was all in the great state of California, where people like OJ and Robert Blake dazzle those idiots with their starpower, he got off. No wonder he medicated himself to death — guilt will do that to you.
July 6th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Lol.
Settlements don’t imply guilt, Sweetie. He admitted sharing a bed and nothing else.
July 6th, 2009 at 2:30 pm
You’re a chick and it would be creepy if YOU shared a bed with little boys, SWEETIE. Or don’t you think that was creepy? Settlements are the same principle-wise as a no-contest.You don’t settle if you’re innocent. Deify the pedophile all you want.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
Congrats on the tickets Trent! Keep us all posted tomorrow!
July 6th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
I hope you det tickets!!!!!
July 6th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
i meant the tickets
July 6th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
Wow. Hostility? Realize that most of the HONORING of him, is more of honoring his contributions to pop culture-music and dance. Say what you want of his innocence/guilt or what have you, his impact cannot be denied!
Either way- congrats Trent, keep us posted!

@neferteri He never admitted anything. That demented little boy came out and said he lied.
July 6th, 2009 at 8:13 pm
@P — The story that circulated that the boy recanted his allegations is not true. It was a fabricated story that made the rounds after MJ’s death.
July 6th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
Oh. Haha dam Trent, I was trying to prove a point! :P
July 6th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
I stil dont believe it’s true though. I know for a fact I would never accept any amount of money if I believed my daughter had been molested.
July 7th, 2009 at 1:28 am
neferteri: “You’re a chick and it would be creepy if YOU shared a bed with little boys, SWEETIE” – really??? I think this says more about you!!!
July 7th, 2009 at 5:12 am
Thanks, Lauri.
My point exactly. Unfortunately, when one is accused of molestation of a child, you are guilty and branded for life. I don’t know what happened and if MJ did or didn’t except he was found not guilty. Famous people get sued all the time from big to small things and rather than go through the motions of a lengthy trial cause you got shit to do, they settle. Sometimes to avoid the embarrassment of a trial or not. Whatever. Today is about celebrating Michael and I, for one, will be watching.
