The ‘Saved By The Bell’ Kids Reunite For ‘People’ Magazine
Jimmy Fallon, that loveable late-night talk show host who used to make us laugh sometimes on Saturday Night Live, has very famously made it his life’s mission to reunite the cast of the 90’s TV series Saved By The Bell for a possible appearance on his show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He even got SBTB star Mark-Paul Gosselaar to appear on his show in character as Zack Morris last month. Well … I’ve got news and bad news for Jimmy … the Saved By The Bell kids have decided to reunite BUT they chose to do so on the cover of People magazine rather than on his show. How’s that for a hearty slap in the face?

Two decades after the show’s debut, the cast of “Saved by the Bell” has reunited! Mario Lopez (Slater), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa) look back at their TV high school days — in the new issue of People magazine. Fans of the cult TV sitcom can thank Jimmy Fallon, who started a petition to reunite the Bayside High class of ‘90, but where is Dustin Diamond (Screech)? Now a stand-up comedian, Diamond tells People he is no longer close with his castmates and he’s working on a tell-all called “Behind the Bell.” For more about the “Saved by the Bell” cast and what they have been up to, pick up People magazine — on stands this Friday, July 31.
Whew … I’m actually glad that Dustin Diamond (Screech) was not included in this fun reunion. He has turned into quite the sleeze in recent years (BLECH! who could ever forget that disgusting sex tape he was peddling a few years ago). It’s kinda crappy, tho, that the cast decided to diss Jimmy Fallon for the cover of People magazine. Jimmy has been working so hard to get these guys back together and POOF! People magazine does it one fell swoop. Nonetheless, it is great to see the gang back together again. I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it.

@trent: LOL! I loved the ep when the girls were in a “band” and Jessie was all hopped up on caffeine pills. “I’m so excited! I’m so excited!. I’m so…so… SCARED!”

I also loved SBTB as a kid and remember watching it with my sister. Anyway, I think it’s cool that they reunited, however, I feel that they should still do an episode of the Jimmy Fallon Show together. He was the one who came up with the idea.

@Brooke, yes! I loved when the formed Hot Sundae! SBTB was my show…and I’m there to get this issue. I’m so glad the left Screech out, tho.

July 29th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
It would be cool if they did a reunion show or movie. That would definitely be fun!
July 29th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Does Tiffani’s hair look just as 80’s today as it did back then? Hmm.
July 29th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
I’ve seen the sex tape, ugh. Oddly, not as disgusting as his “how to play chess” video.
I’m holding out for a Blossom reunion, my dolls are gonna treble in value! To like five bucks! WHOA!
July 29th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Tiffany looks like she’s supporting a couple of “BumpIts” under her ‘do! ACK. Oh, and money talks, BB.
July 29th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Yeah, super disappointed in Tiff’s hair – LOL
July 29th, 2009 at 5:25 pm
I wonder what Jimmy is going to say about this….
July 29th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
LOL that episode with jessie really was so hysterical. I loved it. Beware of those caffeine pills LOL.
July 29th, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Damn they are all so good looking still! Actually Magio id better looking now than ever yum.
Swcrerw Jimmy Fallon his show totally blows
July 29th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Wow, that show completely made me think High School was something different. BOY was I wrong. What I find most interesting is that out of all the girls Mark dated from the show, he and Lark’s was the longest and most serious.
July 29th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
man he went to my elementary hahahahaha.
geez.

There was a blind item a couple of months ago about this too! It said something about a hit teen show from the 90’s doing a reunion on a major magazine cover, but only if two of the stars were excluded from the shoot. Everyone was guessing that it was Screech and Belding. That’s two blind items revealed in one day, I feel like it’s Xmas!!
July 30th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
Wow, was Screech edited out of the 1989 picture? It looks like there is a big blank spot where he most likely used to be. Sucks that they didnt’ go through with the Jimmy thing though (although, are we sure they won’t?).
July 31st, 2009 at 9:12 am
Cute!! But what about lovable Mr. Belding?
August 4th, 2009 at 3:44 am
If you do just a little bit of research you will see that Dustin Diamond and Dennis Haskins was left out of the photo by People Magazine. They even photo shopped Dustin out of the original photo…….. that’s harsh
