Prince William Keeps Gettin’ Thinner

The Thin Red Royal Line
July 25th, 2009

Prince William participated in an event that was meant to highlight the plight of homeless youth in the UK yesterday but, unfortch for him, ended up highlighting the fact that his hair is thinning at an exponential rate. Prince Wills has been suffering from hair loss for some time now but, for the most part, he’s been able to keep it relatively under wraps. But on a wind-swept mountain yesterday, Wills could no longer hide the fact that the poor guy is losing his hair … much like his father Prince Charles:

Prince William battled torrential rain to trek up a Cumbrian mountain with a group of young homeless people today. The royal completed the two-hour fell walk with youngsters from Centrepoint in Newcastle, which supports young people living on the streets. William, who is patron of the charity, said it was a great opportunity to provide them with a different perspective on life. “A lot of these guys have never done anything like this so it is a real challenge for them and I have really enjoyed meeting them,” he said. He spent much of the Ullswater Valley trek with 18-year-old Jonny Glendinning, who has 19 piercings on his face and body. Their unlikely friendship began when William joked that his facial piercings might freeze in the inclement conditions. Mr Glendinning, who was made homeless last year when his mother threw him out, said: “We were chatting about my piercings and he joked they would freeze up in this weather. I think he was a bit surprised when I said they have done before. I didn’t know he was coming until last night but he was a lot more down-to-earth than I expected, he was canny.” William supported the group throughout the trek and, when they reached the summit, he told 19-year-old Rebecca Burden: “See, I told you that you would make it, it was easy wasn’t it?” The prince wore a Patterdale Mountain Rescue jacket for the walk from Greenside Mines to Helvellyn mountain. Team leaders from the Mountain Rescue England and Wales charity, for which William is also patron, arranged the expedition. Staffed by 3,000 volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day, the charity makes more than 900 rescues a year, half of which are carried out by the 12 Lake District teams. William said: ‘These men and women are unsung heroes. They are up and down these mountains rescuing people with broken legs every day.’ He also helped the youngsters from Centrepoint to raise a London 2012 flag to mark three years until the start of the Olympics. Later Prince William, a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF, will board a steam boat with families who are looked after by WellChild, the national charity for sick children.

Balding or not, I still love Prince William. He seems like such a stand-up guy, I’ve been quite impressed with pretty much every interview of him I’ve ever seen or read. He is a shining example of the best the British Royal Family has to offer. It’s such a bummer that the poor guy is losing his hair at such a young age tho :( Mebbe he can put in a call to Beyoncé’s people and mebbe she can hook him up with a righteous weave or something? In any event, I’m sure Wills will continue his hard work for the people of Great Britain … but I’d suggest he wear more hats, we wouldn’t want him catching his death with that much exposed scalp.

way to block the pussy trent

  4. Noel Says:

I don’t understand what is the obsession that celebrity bloggers have about people losing hair. It’s normal. It’s called aging. So what? He is still hot. He does a lot of charity work and he has a good personality. Hair or not, it shouldn’t matter at all? Celebrities or royalties or whatever are just like normal people. Losing one’s hair is a very hard and very stressful period in anyone’s life. It can cause someone to lose self esteem. People should put themselves in other people’s shoes before judging others about looks.

  5. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Noel — Firstly, it’s not really normal for a person in their early 20’s to lose their hair. It’s not uncommon but I wouldn’t call it “normal”. Secondly, can you point out where I am judging him or his looks? I said it’s a shame that he got his father’s hair but, that’s all. I wouldn’t say that I’m fascinated with hair loss, I’m merely pointing it out.

  6. Wow! Says:

awww shucks! when he was a young lad, i thought he would grow up to be a total hotty but it looks like the younger prince trumped him on that!

  7. Noel Says:

    @Trent

Nonetheless, everyone loses their hair at one point so, it’s not really news. However, I just find it truly annoying whenever I see posts like these. Celebrities are human – so what? hair loss big whoop, you know what I mean? A person is not defined by their hair – I’m sure you know that.

  8. Courtney Says:

He’s still a cutie, balding or not!

  9. Noel Says:

    @Trent

Hair loss can occur at any time btw. it’s not just early 20s. It’s a fact. However, I don’t hate you for the post. I’ve just gotten annoyed of bloggers calling someone’s thinning or losing hair – “news” it’s not really news. It’s called aging and genes.

  10. debho Says:

He looks more like his Uncle Edward every day! To go bald early seems to be a trait in the Windsor family.

  11. kate Says:

Looks pretty studly to me – with or without hair on top. The bod and the face are still rockin’.

  12. Lulu Says:

I think he just needs to embrace it, and shave it all. Bald is sexy.. Think Jason Stratham… Yum!!! :)

  13. Kara Says:

I actually think Charles has MORE hair than William. And that’s just sad.

  14. PixiesBassline Says:

I was going to say the same thing Lulu said: JUST SHAVE IT OFF. Shaven looks better than that thin stuff, frizzling around in the breeze…. AND I AGREE WITH TRENT- it may be genetic- and what a blah gene to get- BUT- it’s NOT THAT normal for guys in their 20’s to be thinning THAT bad. I’ve NEVER known any guy to have gotten THAT much thinning at such an early age! (not saying that Wills can help what nature did to him).. He’s still handsome… but it would look better if he’d just shave it off.
And who cares if we’re picking on him about it… people pick on Madonna for having an aging process – and she didnt’ even start aging until she got OLDER…..

  15. kransyi Says:

shaved it all. think in bruce willis he looks better now

  16. cor Says:

It is fairly normal for some guys to lose their hair young – I went to school with a boy who started going bald before he was 16.. typical male-pattern baldness. It’s genetic but also connected to high testosterone levels.
Wills would look better perhaps with a much shorter hair cut, but then that would make him look a lot older and a good deal more “butch” than he maybe wants to look at this stage of his life. Ultimately…. it’s his decision, he’s still hot as hell, handsome and seems like an altogether well rounded, decent guy.. who the heck cares about hair?! I bet his girlfriend doesn’t give a damn :-D

  17. Kristy Says:

To me it always seemed like Wills was the more responsible one – definitely a king in training – and Harry was just a lot of fun. ;) Not that that has anything to do with hair or hair loss, but still fun to think about …

  18. Sarah Says:

the bottom left one reminded me that he’s still a good looking guy. i’d like to see him completely bald. i think his bone structure might support that look…but you are right that he needs to wear a hat on cold days either way. dude needs to watch out for his health!

  19. Jake Says:

He is a very attractive guy I can’t imagine a skinhead in the royal family but if I was going bald at his age I’d shave it all off… though I would probably then walk around in pink drag queen wigs xD

  20. Fashionista Says:

starting to look like his father.

  21. Vishaal Says:

He should just embrace it and buzz it. =) He’d look cuter

  22. Kristy2 Says:

Trent, I think your response to Noel is a bit flawed. For one, William is not in his early 20s, he’s 27. Secondly, the whole post IS judging his looks. Yes, you mention his good points including charity work, but you’re using terms like “Yikes” and “suffering” and “unfortunately” and suggesting that he hides his thinning with hats or jokingly, a weave. What isn’t judging about all of those comments?! A huge percentage of men will go bald, and while I suppose you are grateful that you don’t have male-pattern baldness in your genes, I think your comments are quite disparaging to those young men who are thinning. It’s hurtful, especially since it’s genetic and they can’t do anything to prevent it! Apart from making them look older, I really find it upsetting how badly men are made to feel about balding. Posts like this don’t help one iota.

  23. Striker Says:

this is the first ive heard about his hair lost. If early hair loss is in a person’s genes does that mean rogaine and all those other hair treatments wont work? Im sure the prince has $$$ to pay for it… unless he’d rather keep it that way to be representin for the other young and balding dudes in the world.
