Michael Stipe: Guy With iPhone?
Now … let me preface this entire post with the caveat that NONE of this is confirmed and, at this point, it is ALL speculation … but … the industrious kids at ONTD! stumbled upon what might be a photo of R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe posing with his iPhone and with a couple of young male compatriots. Apparently, there is a semi-pornographic site called Guys with iPhones that allows guys with iPhones to post photos of themselves for all the world to see. These photos are predominately risque and oftentimes NSFW … yes folks, there is a lot of p33n in the photos. Last weekend a set of photos were submitted that were all posted at the same time, seem to have been taken in the same bathroom and MIGHT feature one R.E.M. frontman. Here is the photo in question … do you think it looks like Michael Stipe?
To be honest, I think the guy in this photo looks a bit too young and buff to be Michael Stipe … but there is a striking resemblance. Could it really be him? And if so, he is just showing off his hot young mostly nekkid male friends for everyone to see? HMMM … to be honest, I’m not 100% convinced that the first photo is of Michael Stipe and the second photo is of Thomas Dozol … I mean, it could be them but … I dunno. I’d say I’m 90% sure … which is still pretty high ;) In any event, it’s very plausible that Stipe could’ve posted his photo along with the photos of his young friends … and, on that account, I can’t be mad at him. What do y’all think … is it him?

i dunno. the second guy doesn’t look like thomas dozol. he looks too young and too lean. i’d like to think michael stipe is a smart guy and wouldn’t be stupid enough to do something like this. i’m saying, not him.

In the picture that you linked of Michael & his boyfriend, he looks exactly like the person in the shower. They have the exact same glasses and goatee. Looks like it’s him to me! If it’s not he’s the best impersonator ever.

It’s Mr. Stipe in the first picture. I think he was doing it just for fun. And it’s not his boyfriend in any of the other!! He looks a lot better than that, just search for pictures of him and you’ll see how beautiful he is. :-)

Seriously, I have a nicer bathroom than that. Cheap common bathroom tile, metals rods? plastic shower curtain? It’s either A. totally him and purposely staged in his friends mother’s bathroom (is that gold bond?) or B. Totally not him and staged in somebodys mothers bathroom(is that gold bond?)

It’s definitely him. Same exact bone structure and glasses. He is very fit looking in real life although clothes cover up the six pack. Click on the link Trent posted about the boyfriend-Stipe has a collection of photos all about shirtless people in mirrors in his apartment. could be a fetish?

I don’t think it’s him. This guy does look a lot like him, but he’s also wearing the trademark glasses and half of his face is obstructed (and if he were intentionally trying to impersonate Michael Stipe, a few well-placed shadows in Photoshop could easily help him in that effort). I don’t know, maybe it’s him after all but to me something just seems off.

I don’t remember Stipe being so muscular. Back in 2008 he looked more like this (http://www.boston.com/yourlife/home/stylephile/15690612-15690615-slarge.jpg), but I guess the chest hair pattern is similar… so it probably is him.

When he’s home, Michael eats at the same restaurant every Thursday at 10pm and I saw him there on the 25th June and the phone he was using WAS an iPhone but it was black… Not that this REALLY means anything but still!

Actually Stipe has been one who seriously maintains his body and has that sort of scrawny muscle tone. I think its totally him.
