However, I do feel like I can partially understand...but I happen to agree with the editior of Out. If we can't laugh at ourselves then we are taking ourselves too seriously. I can laugh at jokes pointed at lesbians. I don't only laugh at jokes that make fun of Republicans, I also laugh at jokes that make fun of Democrats. I can find humor in serious issues. It's called having a sense of humor. Not everything has to be taken so seriously that we automatically jump to being defensive. I respect that the "gay community" has a problem with Bruno. I hope too that other homosexuals can respect that some of us find Bruno to simply be a funny movie. It's interesting that none of these people were falling out of the woodwork to proclaim how Borat was hurtful and mean spirited. They only care when the joke is on "the gays".
