LeAnn Rimes & Deane Sheremet Are Dunzo!
'People' magazine reports

In news that should come as no surprise to pretty much anyone, People magazine is reporting that LeAnn Rimes and hubby Deane Sheremet have separated. In the wake of reports that LeAnn has been creepin’ around on her husband with other men (namely Eddie Cibrian and Dean Cain … but mostly Eddie Cibrian), People quotes sources close to the couple that claim that they haven’t been living together for quite some time … they’re dunzo, y’all:

Four months after reports surfaced that LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were allegedly having an affair, a source tells PEOPLE that the country singer is no longer living with her husband, Dean Sheremet. “Le and Dean have been separated for quite some time now, but they’re continuing to try and work through their relationship, a Rimes pal says. The couple married in 2002, when she was only 19. Last August (six months before their seventh anniversary), they threw a “Seven-Year Itch” party to, as Rimes put it, “remember how blessed we are.” … Cibrian, 36, who is joining the cast of C.S.I. Miami this fall, has denied he was having an affair with Rimes, his costar in the Lifetime original movie Northern Lights, which they filmed last fall. In March, the Rimes pal confirmed the singer and Sheremet were having problems in their marriage, but maintained Cibrian was “not the cause,” adding, “There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set.” The couple’s Nashville home is currently on the market for $7.45 million.

As you may recall, we learned earlier this week that Cibrian and his wife Brandi Glanville announced that they are dunzo … so it makes sense that LeAnn and Deane would be having their problems as well, that is, if these reports of infidelity are to be believed. It really sucks for Sheremet and Glanville to be tied to such seemingly untrustworthy people. They are the ones suffering most in all of this because they are essentially being made fools of in the public eye. However any of this plays out, I hope that the spouses are able to recoup some restitution from their cheating louses … while it’s no substitution for a happy marriage, I’m sure large divorce settlements will go a long way in helping them attain some sense of satisfaction.

I’m so, incredibly shocked to hear this news!!

Cheating does not and should not automatically lead to a monetary settlement. While it is a horribly disrespectful thing to do to your spouse, one does not beget the other. Besides, none of us really know what was going on in either marriage… much like, as your reader, I don’t know (or judge) you on what went on between you and David, despite the fact that you were in a relationship when you met him.

    Lets leave it at that.

    • @hott shoes — cheating absolutely deserves a monetary settlement. breaking the vow of marriage is breaking a contract, which absolutely should be recompensed monetarily. whether or not the cheating actually took place remains to be seen but if this break-up moves forward, it will be in the hands of the divorce court to decide.

I agree with Trent. A marriage is a legal, contractual obligation (Ooo…the romance–but is is). When one partner cheats, they are breaking the contract and the other party is entitled to restitution. If this were two companies, there would not be any question. Now, if her husband was mistreating leading her to turn to another man, SHE should have gotten a legal separation for that, not had an affair. I do understand that problems in a marriage do lead to affairs and we don’t know what has gone on in either marriage. However, you end the marriage before beginning another relationship. When you are powerful or have money, it is idiotic to do otherwise.

A marriage is a legal contract. Usually, to break a contract you must have a breach (among other things). Infidelity is not necessarily a material breach. The Clintons are a perfect example. It is different for every couple. That is why cheating does not equal a monetary settlement. The views that you or I have for our personal relationships do not automatically translate to the relationships of others. Back to marriage being a contract: breaching a contract does not guarantee money damages. Or even the end of the contract itself. Many couples go to marriage counseling. Many get divorced but neither gets a cash settlement. Lots of poor people get divorced. Lots of women cheat, yet receive monetary settlements for various reasons (including marital contributions or children).

And of course, considering we don’t know what was really happening in either relationship. I just dont think its a good idea to start pointing the finger. It bad enough with LeAnn and Dean as they are adults w/o kids. But with Eddie & his (ex)wife… there are kids involoved. Its best to stick to the facts and let the courts decide the rest.

But for the record, as an adult, you are responsible for your own actions and the consequences of those actions.

I’m really disappointed this is happening with LeAnne. I hope all parties will get their privacy to work everything out.

I went to a concert on Thursday night with her and Keith Urban. She sang a new song called Better Off basically the lyrics were about separating because they’d be better off and she said that the song was important to her and fit her life really well so I was expecting to hear something like this very soon.
