You could have delayed reaction time that could lead to an accident if, for example, an animal or something dashes out in front of you or the driver in front of you stops short. A friend of mine used to teach defensive driving and would ask the people in class if they had ever had a drink or two while out to dinner. After almost all raised their hands, he pointed out that the only thing separating them from many people who have gotten DUI's is luck.
