Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo Are Dunzo!
Sad news to impart today … according to sources, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo decided to call it quits on the eve of her 29th birthday on July 10. Apparently the couple have been fighting on and off and after Tony refused to participate in a “Barbie & Ken” themed birthday party the couple decided to end their relationship. Jessimo are dunzo, y’all!
Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have called it quits, sources tell Usmagazine.com. A source close to Simpson confirms they broke up the night before her 29th birthday July 10. She was supposed to celebrate with a Ken and Barbie-themed party. (On Simpson’s birthday, Romo spent the night at Los Angeles hot spot My House.) “She canceled her party because of this,” the source tells Us. “She’s doing OK.” Adds a close friend of Romo’s: “It’s been a long time coming.” Still, another source tells Us the volatile couple could always get back together. “They go from one fight right into another, without a second break,” the source tells Us. “It’s always something with Jessica.” Reps for both stars could not be reached.
I mean … yeah. When last we saw Jessimo together here on the blog they were enjoying happier times in NYC back around Valentine’s Day. I do not know Jessica Simpson but I imagine it is difficult to be romantically involved with her. It seems to me that she comes with a lot of baggage not the least of which is her meddling, overbearing father papa Joe Simpson. To be completely honest, I’m surprised that Tony Romo lasted this long. He endured a lot of grief during his tenure as Jessica’s boyfriend … I guess, in the end, being with her wasn’t worth it anymore. IMHO, he would do better to find himself a less high-profile girlfriend next. I honestly don’t know who would be a good match for Jessica. I guess it’ll, eventually, be up to Papa Joe to decide.

Yeah, at least wait a couple of days AFTER her birthday. I’m surprised they even lasted this long as well. It’s funny how she has baggage when she doesn’t have any kids or anything but her father is worse. She should fire him as manager and get a new one to revamp that career or whatever she does that she does?

a part of me feels bad for Jess – i mean, her little sister is married, has a kid, and seems really happy – but her daddy just wont let her have any of that.

I don’t see how anyone can make judgements about what it is like to be in a relationship with Jessica. Yes, there was Newlyweds, but she has been through a lot since then. Sometimes things don’t work out…I think it is kind of cruel to just assume that Jessica (or her family) was root of all evil and caused the breakup.

Maybe Tony didn’t want to participate in a party that was Barbie themed and she still wanted to and he said no? Who knows? But, I agree with Trent. She seems like a high maintenance girl. Do what you want with her and then dump her.

Wow, well, not terribly surprised. I really thing she did herself a lot of damage with all the sh!t she talked about Tony and Carrie. Like, you don’t air an ex’s dirty laundry, especially when the ex doesn’t want to talk about her. Just saying.
As far as Jessica and Nick, hasn’t that ship sailed? Nick pretty much can’t stand Joe, so I do not see it happening.

Jessica’s dad may be high-maintenance but Pete Wentz gets along perfectly fine with Ashlee’s dad so he can’t be THAT bad??? I don’t think Jessica is actually that dumb. She just plays dumb to get attention like Paris Hilton. Her biggest problem seems to be her dependency on men and dating players/douches doesn’t help either. Men just lose respect for her cause being blonde + playing dumb + clingy are major turnoffs.
If anything, I actually feel sorry for her…she was supposed to be more ’successful’ than Ashlee but now Ashlee has everything she doesn’t – a career, family, husband and respect.

My first thought was also that she and Nick Lachey are both single now. I think they should get back together. Although, I don’t really know why they got divorced, but I just thought they were a really cute couple when I used to watch Newlyweds.

She gets him a boat for his bday, and he dumps her for hers. Niiiiice…and I hate that I laugh about it, but I can’t help it. I can’t feel sorry for her–CANNOT–because she puts herself into these positions. She divorced Nick (allegedly at her dad’s insistence), because she was the bigger star. She allegedly ran around with all these guys–Knoxville, Levine, etc–trying to get sex symbol credibility. She dated John Mayer, hoping people will take her seriously. Then it was Romo to bring her back to being that down-home-Texas-all-American girl. She seems very high maintenence, not too bright & very naive. I’m sure she’s very nice and unconditional and sweet, too, but I’m with everyone else–29 & a Barbie party? She seems really immature. I actually thought that this one had a chance–she said in every interview that Tony loved her for her. My guess? She started pressuring him into marriage & kids, since her sister has that…

it doesn’t matter what theme her birthday party was (i personally think it’s kinda cute because they both fit the barbie and ken parts), he should’ve done it because she wanted him to do this for her, for her BIRTHDAY. he shouldn’t've have acted like a little brat, throwing a hissy fit.

Trent, I’m sorry, I love you & your blog, but to say Jessica is high maintenance and he probably left because of that is SO ironic when you’re always pulling for Lindsay & Sam – you always want Sam to take CRAZY SUPER HIGH MAINTENANCE Lindsay back – hmmmmmmmmmm…
Anyway, he really could’ve dumped her a month ago or waited until after her bday but it sounds like a fight caused it -either way, mean move :(

why is anyone around here comparing lindsay and jessica, two totally different types of people. Jessica is the epitome of high maintenance. That’s not an opinion but a fact, as to the reason why Romo broke up with her, Im not sure, I thought he would leave since the beginning b/c he likes to do his own thing and he’s a young enough guy still to not feel the need to be tied down yet, I think he really tried with Jessica more than with anyone else yet, but I just think she wanted him to fit into her mold, rather than let him be himself. I don’t see her as an aniston b/c I don’t think simpson is still hung up on lachey and jen aniston is definitely still hung up on the brad relationship( and Im not even talking about her having feelings for him b/c I don’t think aniston wants brad at all, I just think she’s hung up on how things went down) I feel sorry for jess for the way this had to turn out but who knows what drove the man to dump her this way, oh and one more thing Joe simpsons has never cared for ashlee the way he does for jessica that is a known and obvious fact, he has always been involved in their careers but ashlee wasn’t his favorite as we all well know, he doesn’t give two craps what ashlee does( that’s why ashlee is the way she is, she had to get attention from someone, she sure ’nuff wasn’t getting it from her mom and dad)

@trent I think you like Lindsey and Sam together cause they are a high-profile gay couple. I’m a little sad that you think Lindsey is “greater than” Jessica when Lindsey has been the poster child for bad behavior. I love coming to your site everyday, I just hope your bias towards Jess will not show through on the posts you make about her. You always seem to have to take a dig at her on any post even if the post is mostly positive in the first place. Jess is my NIN/Tori/Brit so please be positive, damn even Perez hasn’t been so tough on her lately.
Jess will move on and find someone a lot better and hotter! Tony has acted like a douche with this break-up. Can’t wait to watch her new VH1 show!
