Jamie Lynn Spears & Casey Aldridge Still Playing House
Contrary to reports going around the Internets today that claim that Jamie Lynn Spears and her underage babydaddy Casey Aldridge are dunzo, TMZ has photos of the couple still lookin’ seemingly together. Casey-Lynn were snapped out on the town in McComb, MS with their little girl Maddie Briann lookin’ very much the happy family together:

Whew! I’m glad that rumor has been debunked. I’m sure a great many of you were standing on any number of high buildings and bridges all around the world racked with worry that Jamie Lynn and Casey were on the outs. I’m sure it comes as a HUGE relief to so many of you rooting for this couple to beat the odds and stay together forever. Tho, I imagine it comes as NO RELIEF to see that Casey has no problem smoking around his infant daughter or that JL seems to let him. Blah.

Holy shit….. sounds like you guys are ready to string him up and let him hang!! If you could see more people from this area, you wouldn’t be *as* disgusted by THEM. Do you guys think Britney stopped smoking while she was pregs with her 2 kids? Ha.
And NO- I don’t think it’s okay to be smoking around kids while you’re in a house or a car….. but standing outside… I doubt she’s getting too much smoke inhalation…

I have been a smoker for seven years and I have been recently trying to quit. I was standing outside with my friend who is still a smoker and was surprised at how much smoke I was still inhaling.
Being outside doesn’t make the second hand smoke inhalation any less damaging to that babies young lungs. If you want to smoke, that’s your right, but EVERYONE knows how damaging smoking and secondhand smoke is. If he can’t or at this point doesn’t want to quit that is his prerogative, but as a FATHER he should at least be responsible enough to at least walk around to the other side of the car to minimize damage done to both his child and the mother of his child-unless she’s puffing away too and we just can’t see it…

We were all disgusted to see Britney smoking while pregnant. We were also disgusted to see Christina Applegate smoking after her cancer diagnosis. I’m not sure what area you come from, but we all see disgusting things in our own areas-I’ve seen babies at bars and I’ve seen a woman bring her child to an outdoor bar with tons of smokers around while the baby slept in his stroller. There are LOTS of things to be disgusted by, but just because people have done worse, does not mean we should just shrug our shoulders and not be AS disgusted when we see a father smoking in front of his baby daughter-outdoors or not.

the worst i saw was this group of nasty women (prolly five generations 12 years apart) and the youngest had a massive sumo baby in a stroller. there was a 2L of no name cola in the bottom of the stroller and when the baby cried they filled her bottle with the cola.

How do you know the wind wasn’t blowing in the other direction? I’m not saying it’s not hurting the baby at all – I’m just saying it’s worse to do it inside a house or car with a baby in there.
I’ve been in houses where people smoked with their kid sitting in their lap… it’s a lot more disturbing to me than seeing them outside, smoking, with the kid 2 feet away. Smoking while pregnant is even more repulsive to me….
I disagree that there is the same amount of damage occuring in free-flowing outside air as there is with being trapped in a house or car with it. There’s no way she’s getting as much smoke outside in free-flowing air, than she would be if she were in a car or home with it.
WITH that being said – they prolly smoke in the house with the kid in there any damn way. (a lot of people still do- I do NOT)yeah – it’s wrong, but it’s not *the worst* thing you could do to a child.
I personally do not think it’s cool at all to let kids inhale any cig smoke – for fear of activating the nicotine sensors in their developing brains. As for JL smoking – I think JamieLynn has been seen with some cigs before – hasn’t she?? I’m not trying to say your post was pointless… but I disagree with you saying that smoking outside is THAT freakin damaging to the kid. If it were me, I’d definitely be trying to keep the smoke out of her face or her direction, even if I were outside (and maybe he was doing that, but I have doubts)…. But at least they’re not drunk and abusive.

I’ve seen people giving beer to toddlers… I wonder if people think smoking outside around a baby is worse than that. I also saw someone put whiskey in a baby’s bottle, to “help him sleep”…. As for people saying that “there’s worse things but it doesn’t mean we should just shrug our shoulders”….. so, bitching about it on a blogsite is doing something to help???
In some areas of the U.S. they don’t have as much anti-smoking propaganda…. which could also be why you still see things like this.

Obviously smoking in an enclosed space is going to subject someone to more second hand smoke than smoking outdoors. I’m not going to debate which one is worse. Smoke is smoke, either way it is secondhand smoking and it is causing damage. I’m saying outdoors or indoors, wind or not, they shouldn’t be smoking around their baby. I think that’s the point everyone here is trying to make. There is really nothing to be amazed about.

Oh nothing to be amazed about other than the fact that you obviously missed my point…..I consider this having an open dialogue-not bitching as you put it, which is better than silence. I don’t recall implying that we should start a no smoking around your baby revolution. There are plenty of parents that do harmful things to their children and sometimes all we can do is to talk about it. Or you can call the authorities when we see someone giving alcohol to a child. Yeah, that’s obviously worse, and it’s illegal. Did you do that or are you just “bitching” right along with us and actually not doing anything when you have the chance?

Smoke aside. Maybe we should give them some credit for sticking it out (when they are so young) and trying to stay out of the spotlight and out of LA for the sake of Maddie. They’ve made more effort than the Palin’s.

I don’t think they have ever lived in LA though have they? If they are happy together than more power to them. If they are just “sticking it out” then they aren’t doing Maddie any favors. I spent my childhood wishing my folks had just put us all out of our misery and divorced.

If anyone was walking down the street and saw this picture ( non famous mother holding baby, non famous father smoking, realistically no where near the baby) then they wouldnt even look twice, everyone is only critical because there famous!! Joanne is right.
Jamie Lynn could have quite easily have moved to LA for work and the lifestyle a lot of people would love to have and considering shes in a position where she could pursue this and she hasnt proves her head is screwed on.. Good Luck to them and Jamie looks great after having a baby only a year ago…
