Yesterday turned out to be another quite night around these here parts. David and I were planning on hanging out with our friend Johnny but he had to cancel due to illness. Being sick in Summer sucks, so I feel for him :( We decided to just stay in and make it a lazy night. I managed to catch the 1995 movie Tank Girl on cable … a movie I hadn’t seen since I saw in theaters back in ’95:

Tank Girl stars Lori Petty, Naomi Watts, Malcolm McDowell and Ice-T and is based on the very cool post-apocalyptic comic book series of the same name. I had forgotten what a fun movie it is … and the soundtrack is to DIE for. Veruca Salt, Portishead, Björk, Hole, Joan Jett, Bush, Devo … to be honest, I think the soundtrack did better than the film did. Nonetheless, 1995 was a very good year for me and it was nice reminiscing about the good ol’ days with Tank Girl.

Today, David flies off for the weekend to spend some time with his friends. I’ll be here holding down the fort. I have been invited to the album preview event for Whitney Houston‘s new disc I Look To You so I’m planning on being there ce soir. I don’t think I can tweet from the event but I’ll do my best to report as best I can … with paper and pen. OY!
