First Tease: Madonna, ‘Celebration’

Last month we learned that Madonna has titled her latest Greatest Hits album Iconography and plans to release it on September 22 BUT, we’ve since learned that the album will actually be titled Celebration (with the first single also titled Celebration) and will be released on September 28. Today we get our first tease of the promo campaign for the album’s release. Here is a screencap from the new teaser video for Madonna‘s greatest hits album:
This teaser video is really short, it’s only 5 secs … but I do like the graphics. After the jump, check it out for yourselves — but make sure you don’t blink and miss it …
While I’m not sure the world really needs a 4th Madonna Greatest Hits album, I am looking forward to the new tracks that will be included. I can’t wait to see what other promo vids/materials from Maddy’s 2-disc greatest hits album will be released in the coming weeks.

Madge only has two GH’s. Immaculate and GHV2. Regardless, its senseless to release a GH after three albums that flopped in America.
@RJ — She also has a GH of ballads.
@RJ – Just because the albums flopped doesn’t mean the singles haven’t. But, then again, she only releases one single from an album that turns into success but then it kind of fails after that one is released… she does much better intentionally.
Zoinx, when you watch those 2 vids one right after the other you can really see the “work” Madge has had done on her timeless visage. Granted the first one appears to be from the True Blue vid (which was 23 years ago) and people’s faces change as they age (and as they dine on macrobiotic food), but still… the work appears evident to me.
This promo pic it’s a copy of the artwork of Britney’s album “Britney” (Slave 4 u, Overprotected, I’m not a girl…)
She picked a very Bette Davis shot to have Warholized.

I totally agree with Jake! it totally reminds me the artwork from Britney but I have to say I liked it! Madonna always knows how to do it!
yeah i like it to, but it’s a copy of other artwork… just blah!!! They need do somethin’ different… so…
this is a career retrospect. 2 discs of music from her entire career with WB and then some new tracks. It will be awesome.
@Jake – Do you know what you’re talking about? Madonna did FIRST the “Britney Artwork”. Just check out some of the SEX Book images and there is the same effect in a couple of them. So, Madge did it first almost 20 years ago. So get your facts right, bub,
JAKE- NO IT’S NOT. Madonna used that POP ART technique back in her SEX book (1991/1992).
RJ- you have no idea what you are talking about. Confessions was a huge selling album, even Hard Candy has sold nearly 4 million and Madonna has 56 top 40 hits (the most any artist has ever had in the last 30 years), more than enough to fill at least 3-CDs worth of hits. This album is a whole career retrospective.
Madonna also has a Warholesque cover for at least two of her 1980s singles.
@Trent. Forgot about that one! I always just count that as more of a compilation album than a hits one, since a lot of those weren’t singles. GOTCHA NOW, Though! :-)
Not everything is America, her last albums debuted number one in more than 30 countries each and her last world tours have been immensely successful breaking records for the top grossing tours in history by any artist, in my country she is the most popular singer and her recent songs are classics, pity the US has an issue with her.
I heard that Isaac, you are so true. I am a huge Madonna Fan and I hate how much America is cruel to there Artists. Madonna has proven time and time again to know what shes doing and does it better than the rest.
I am an American but American radio sucks. It’s horrible! They play the same few hits over and over. I get discouraged that she isn’t as popular here anymore but that does not diminish my love for her! It’s just funny the same people who are always talking smack about her are the same ones shelling out $400 to go to her concerts. Hmmmm. Does everyone know she has a meeting with marilyn minter. Maybe she will be doing the album artwork? Also, it is reported the song is not called Celebrate but Celebration.
Oh please I listen to XM and they play Madonna constantly, and her last 4 albums were all #1 in the USA.
