Chris Brown has released a short video today addressing his fans and offering up his apologies for his assault on his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February. As y’all should know by now, Brown worked out a plea agreement where he will serve out a sentence of probation instead of going to prison for physically assaulting Rihanna. This new video is meant for Chris to talk directly to fans and apologize for his criminal behavior:
The video really speaks for itself. He reveals that he wanted to apologize sooner but decided not to on the advice of his lawyers. While I’m impressed that he does not offer any excuses for his criminal actions, he is still on my shitlist. I don’t know that I will ever be able to see Chris Brown the way I used to see him before this incident but, at the very least, he is finally offering up the apology that many people have been waiting for for some time. You know, he is what 19? He made a really terrible drunken mistake. TERRIBLE, no excuses. BUT when I was that age I did some bad things too.. There is no excuse for his abuse, but if he truly is seeking help, and this truly was a “rage of passion” maybe we should give him a little slack. He’s just a kid. And Michael Jackson can molest little boys, but be world wide HEAVILY morned? He makes a drunken mistake and people want to end his carreer. If hes truly sorry, then lets let him be. I’ve been a big Chris Brown fan in the past and yes I don’t really care for him. But people THINK if he IS truly sorry, the HELL he is going through..

All of you saying i am wrong, have u been in the situation. No probably not. I HAVE and my BF did hit me ONCE and never again, i stopped that sh*t and he got the help he needed, so thank you the classes do work. And he has moved on from it and it has never happened again, so much for your “theory” . So please stop saying once a hitter always a hitter . That is NOT always true, maybe alot of the time but not always. People can change and grow. Most of you on here are so unforgiving and are basically saying he can never overcome this well your the stupid, ignorant, close minded ones. Well, he does seem honest and with some help he will probably grow. But then again, how much can one believe a “convict” that is sitting with bling in his ears and wears a fancy version of the “orange suit”? Probs to him for looking as snappy as he does, though.
I’m not impressed. It sounds very scripted, as if his lawyer had written it for him.
It also sounds like he took 1,000 videos before he could post one that sounds somewhat acceptable.
It sounds as if he’s trying to sorry, and I bet he is, but he’s not allowed to say what he truly thinks.
He should have made an unscripted, raw video with many, many excuses and tears.
At least that would have been more acceptable.
