I watch tori’s show and I believe that she feels the only way to talk to her mom is thru the show. evidently candy does not visit them or call and i think she still harbors bad feelings. me and my mom always fought. sometimes i wouldn’t go there for days. i was daaddy’s little girl and mom was jealous of that. This is normal, its in psychology books. but in the end, mom always had my back and i had hers. before my mom died,she moved in with me. I believe the press blows it up cause it makes good copy. candy of all people should realize this. if she wants to see her grandchildren and tori, why doesn’t she just pop up. my mom didn’t call or need an invitation to go to her kid’s homes or see her grandkids. I think tori would invite candy in if she showed up.

And to Michelle – what Tori negelcts to tell you is that her and her brother both have trust funds. And why should she be entitled to get ANY money? She got 800k – and is complaining? Some people will never see that in their lifetimes. Because her father made all that money she is entitled to it? Sounds like a spoiled brat to me.

I read Tori’s books and recently read Candy’s book as well. I am torn between which side I am on. I can see it from both points of view. I mean, I am sure Candy had a few issues as a mother, but YOU ARE 35. GET OVER IT. You are a grown woman. GET. OVER. IT. I am sorry, but you weren’t beaten, you weren’t sexually abused, you weren’t chained up in your basement. Your mother told you to get a nose job and FORCED you to get a BMW when you really wanted a VW. Awww, poor thing. Sorry I can’t see what I’m writing through the tears in my eyes. There is a certain point in your life when you can’t blame your childhood anymore. This is it. You want to cut your mother off? Go ahead. Do it. Stop wah-wah-ing every week about her. I am sure Candy made mistakes – who hasn’t – but to use her as a storyline is gross. I don’t blame her for coming out and trying to defend herself. She was given no choice. Hmm, I guess I’m on Candy’s side.

You are so right! I think that all of this is Candy’s fault. Maybe Tori shouldn’t have the kids on a reality TV show but would they be there if Tori wasn’t excluded from all of Aaron’s money? Tori may not have needed a reality show if she inherited any money and from what I read it was Candy who hasn’t given her any

“MIDDLE AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)” … OMG. If Candy was my mother, she’d be officially – DEAD to me after that!! … Candy clearly does not want Tori to do well … financially or otherwise. It’s so sabotaging! I now wonder what Tori went through in that big house? (while the public were jealous and hating her for her rich ‘perfect’ life).

That is the purest definition of PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE I have ever seen. Why would you write an open letter to your daughter regarding anything, in lieu of actually writing a letter to her? Because now if Tori doesn’t respond, Candy is making it look like she made the first move and Tori isn’t having it. And Candy thinks that will look bad on Tori and it isn’t Candy’s fault, because, hey, she tried, right?

I hope Tori does not dignify this with a comment. The woman clearly needs help. And for the record, if Tory is middle age, then what that makes you? Ancient ? You got to be ashamed of yourself. I guess Tori didn’t have to go out of her way to make her mother look like a cold-hearted Bitch. Clearly, Candy can do that on her own. Candy has a few valid points (about using “children as reality show props”), but she renders them worthless by talking about it in public.

You know, if Tori ever comes across as a little nutty or as someone who maybe makes some odd decisions, you don’t have to look very far to know WHY. Candy Spelling is a complete waste of oxygen!! What a bitch! And 36 isn’t middle aged….she was clearly trying to go for the jugular. Wow. How did Tori survive growing up in that household?!

Sounds like Mommy is a lot jealous of her daughter and couldn’t really show it until Daddy died. wow.

Candy pretty much is a narcissitic bitch who will run over her children to try to protect her own image – while the whole time not even seeing that she herself is destroying peoples opinion of her. If I had Candy as a mother I’d probably be looking for love wherever I could find it too – including a reality television show. We give Tori more love than her mother ever did.

What the hell??? I was willing to sit this one out and not make a public comment but the “middle age” thing really got me, considering I’m only 3 years younger. When the hell did 36 become middle age??? Wikipedia has this to say “According to Collins Dictionary, this is “… usually considered to occur approximately between the ages of 40 and 60″.

What a mean way to start a letter! Seriously Hollywood needs to visit Candy for the next Mean Girls script.

Candy literally makes my stomach turn. She accuses Tori of being a media whore on a regular basis. Hello Pot, meet Kettle.
Oh and a true parent and grandparent would not say and do the things that she does on a regular basis. If her heart was in the right place, she would meet her granddaughter during a show being filmed or during a live play performance. It shouldn’t matter. Obviously, THEY (kids and grandkids) don’t matter to her much.

Someone needs to punch that grandtard out.

I happen to like Tori but I do not like this whole public drama of their private problems. Seriously……Candy was most likely not a good mother, that is clear…….Tori has her memories and whether or not they are accurate, only mother and daughter know for sure. What they both need to do is GROW UP and stop acting like angry babies……….Liam and Stella should NOT have to grow up in this type of an environment that is hostile and PUBLIC!! I happen to be good friends with someone who knows Tori…….don’t believe all you see on the show……it is highly edited and not spontaneous…….that’s all I am saying. Tori is a good young woman……..but years of growing up with her mother the way she is had made an insecure woman who allows others to still control her. Both need to figure out a way to fix this…….

Unfortunately I know what Tori is going through, maybe not on her level, but non the less parents that are similar to Candy. The best thing she could ever do is cut the ties. It isn’t an easy thing to do and yes it hurts, but in the end for your own mental health is for the best.
Tori has made a beautiful family for herself with the people she chose. Her husband Dean, her children, Patsy, and the friends she surrounds herself with. Those people are now her true family. Candy is the just the person who gave birth to her.
The sooner she realizes and deals with that the better off everyone will be.

While I do think Candy’s behavior is abhorrent, I don’t think we can ignore what she said about families being used as props. This episode sounds like it was crafted for the purpose of making Candy look bad. Deep in the recesses of Tori’s publicity seeking mind, she had to know that her mother wasn’t going to show up! I think it was devious and mean-spirited. And Candy, your “open letters” only bring more publicity to your daughter’s show!
