Britney Spears Releases A Music Video For ‘Radar’
In May we saw photos of Britney Spears on the SoCal set of her new music video for her latest single Radar. That video, now complete, has managed to make its way to the Internets. Here are a few screencaps from Brit Brit’s new video:

I have to say … I kinda don’t like it. The song was never a fave of mine but it tends to grow on me the more I hear it. I was hoping a slammin’ music video would renew my interest in the song … but unfortch, this video looks more like a bad telenovela (complete with swarthy Latin love interest) rather than a hip music video. After the jump, check out the video for yourselves — you may like it more than I do …
I’m all for videos that tell a story but this one … just ain’t doing it for me. I guess the tryst with the sexy polo player is supposed to be intriguing but … yeah, nada. Deffo not my fave Britney Spears video. What do y’all think?

Wow… not what I expected at all for the music video for the song. I was expecting a more edgy setting, but the preppy look of the whole video does not go with the song at all! Still love Britney, but def not my favorite.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:15 pm
I dont understand…wasn’t Radar on Blackout? and haven’t I been listening to it for almost 2 years? I hate when they do that haha
June 30th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
booooooring! and the version from blackout is better than this one.. this one is just boring!
June 30th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
It may not be the most bangin, pull-out-all-the-stops video she’s ever made, and while it’s not my favorite Britney video, I actually like it. I think it’s sexy in a not over the top way, and I think it’s full of great costumes. What I like most about it though is that it looks like Britney had a lot of fun and really enjoyed herself making it, and even in the video, she seems really happy, and that makes me happy. I like to see her happy and performing, rather than the halfhearted performances we may have seen when she was having a rough time. Go Brit Brit!!!
June 30th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
I agree trent sooo not what i was looking for. I like it, but its not for radar. Its like the director was listening to Unusual You the whole time he planned it out and then when he showed up to shoot it someone told him it was radar but there was no time to think of something else so they just ran with it. lol
June 30th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
I thought it was effin hot..
June 30th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
I liked the polo players…but they could have done better with her make-up…all in all…I didn’t hate it. The polo players did it for me. The story is vague…but not the worst BS video I’ve seen…I’d watch it again.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
This video would have worked better if Britney were in a club and found this guy. Overall the song sux and the video didn’t do anything for me either. I’m sure there were plenty of other songs on her album to make a single. She should have picked something different.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
well at least she looks HOTTT :)
June 30th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
I have to disagree with you Trent!
It was unexpected for us fans, yes, but it blossomed for me.
The music video for Radar is charming & really quite lovely.
Maybe it will grow on you?
June 30th, 2009 at 8:32 pm
OMG BORING. And the horse imagery – REALLY???
A Radar video should have had dancing, why can’t Britney dance anymore?? The whole thing seems really amateurish.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:39 pm
@MiMi Larue — mebbe it will grow on me. I just wanted more … pizzazz!
June 30th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
LOL at the parts of them showing the horses. I mean Wtf. I was expecting dancing or some shizz; not this.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
damn! It got removed already ):
June 30th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
I love it simply is great and it gose with the vibe of circus

an alternative link!
June 30th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
okay now that I have watched it.. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!
It honestly looks like a video from the mid 90’s!!
Dont get me wrong I am a huge fan of Brit Brit, but this was just tacky :S
She does look hot though..
June 30th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
WHERE IS THE DANCING BRITTERS???
come on!!
you’re killing me softly with this dance-less vid :’(
June 30th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
@Nwrh — Thanks! I reposted :)
June 30th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Oh my me! I effin loved it! She’s so brills!
June 30th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
omg.. i love that song!! i wish the video was better :(
June 30th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
compared to the other videos shes put out,..this is boring. it looks like something she would have put out near the beginning of her career. the dark eye make up was wayyy to much for her. and the horse getting watered down…wtf? lol. not a cool vid at all
June 30th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
The guy looks so much like Justin Gaston, especially at 0:33
June 30th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Sexy!!
I enjoyed it, minus the fact there was no dancing.
I love a good chereograohed Britney routine!!
June 30th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Holy Pancake Make-up, Batman!!!!!! jeez, they made her look like she had no curves on the planes of cheeks. Pretty disturbing in some scenes.
Not bad over all though. But I agree, I legit LOL’d at the horse imagery.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
It’s not what I was expecting, but I LOVE it! I always imagined this would have dancing throughout the video, but it’s exactly the opposite. I love how Britney looks. This is the best she’s looked so far! Unlike Trent, I actually like the telenovela feel to it. :D
June 30th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Hmm… I think I liked it. It wasn’t what I expected, but appeals to the romance novel side of me, lol. And I totally laughed when I read what Malcolm McCrae wrote about the director listening to “Unusual You,” LOL! Also, I think she looks so pretty, reminds me of the “Britney” era photo shoots she did.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
i like it. its sexy!
June 30th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Seeing as how Radar is recycled from Blackout, they should have pulled out all the stops to make this video and song rise to the top. Instead we get this cheesy snooze-fest. I loved the Womanizer and Circus vids, If U Seek Amy was decent, but this is a lame video. I agree with the previous posters; Radar is a dance song…where is the dancing? It seems all the dancing we see Brit do anymore is edited down to 1/2 second clips in her videos and simply prancing around on the stage in her concert while her dancers do the heavy lifting. I’m a huge fan and want to see her do well, but this was a throwaway single/video at best. :-/
June 30th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Is this equestrian porn? Such a setback…
June 30th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
People get over it. She does what she likes and she likes it. (courtesy of her song mannequin)
June 30th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
or i meant we like it *** Not every video has to be stellar. She can do a chill video if she wants.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
I still love the song. It was one of the first songs on Blackout I really liked. But the video fell kinda flat.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
Maybe she wants to do something different for once and not have a dance video? I like it. I think she looks sexy, but it is definitely not the best either.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
@It’s Trent, Bitch! I hope it does for you!
It reminds me of those sexy romance novels my grandma is always reading, which I like.
June 30th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
I thought the video was a different vibe for Britney and I can see how it reminded some of us of a cheesey 90s video with the whole love triangle story line and not alot of special effects. It’s not a bad video, it tried to be ritzy and it had nice fashion and hot mens. But I think many of us really appreciate the dirty grity dancing, slave 4 u, gimme more Britney more than her other attributes
June 30th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
okay, well i’ll admit it isn’t her best. every video is not gonna be GREAT. i mean, she tried to do something a little different and doesn’t always wanna give us the same sh*t over and over. who cares if she doesn’t KILL IT. like it’s been said, it’s a leftover song and for whatever reason she didn’t want an over the top video…give the girl a break! there’s not gonna be dancing in EVERY video. i mean, geez. look @ beyonce…dancing in EVERY SINGLE VIDEO. ok, we know you can move….try something different. brit took a risk and i respect her for that even if it isn’t her best.
June 30th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
Well, I loved it :) Different, but in a refreshing good way. I don’t want all her vids to be like this, but I enjoyed it for what it was!!! :)
June 30th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
so freaking boring. like, I’m sorry, but this video seems incredibly lazy to me.
June 30th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
I liked it, but she seems to have jumped on the “housewife” bandwagon with this video. But I have to say, at least she looked HOT!
July 1st, 2009 at 12:51 am
it makes me think of gossip girl. its not a very “britney-ish” vid, is it?
July 1st, 2009 at 1:09 am
SHE LOOKS HOT!!!! :O
Her looks have been getting better and better each video (except for Circus on which I think she looked bad)… and I think she’s officially back to the old Britney look we all love. Sexy hair, sexy look, way to go Britney!
The video is boring though… but oh well, I guess after all the concerts she’s recently given she didn’t want to do ANY dancing for this video… I can understand that… after all she shot this during her tour BREAK… she’s not supposed to work much.
P.S.
0:22 – WHY did they let that happen? it was the perfect opportunity to make the haters who think Britney’s fat shut up by showing her sexy walking showing her flat stomach… and it was going well, until they let that “love handle” smash on her belt and look flabby… oh well.
0:57 – Now THERE’S the trademark sexy look only Britney knows how to pull off! ;) love it.
July 1st, 2009 at 1:16 am
I for one LOVE it. I’m so sick of dance videos in general, I mean what do you get? Various people dancing in a club with flashing lights, see that’s boring to me. Just my opinion of course.
This video has a story and the cinematography is stunning.
July 1st, 2009 at 1:31 am
I love the video. It’s so different, we don’t have to see Britney dancing a rountine every single video she does… I love how she looks, for once her hair looks great, she smiles (and it appears to be REAL?) and I think all this equestrian references are just plain funny and over the top.
Lovelovelove that she is so back.
July 1st, 2009 at 1:33 am
What is this shizz… it was alright until they started showing all that horse stuff, that just threw off the feel of the song. The guy on her “radar” was nice to look at though. :)
July 1st, 2009 at 2:03 am
Love the ladylike Britney!
July 1st, 2009 at 2:36 am
honestly, 2.58- that’s why i date argentine polo players :)
July 1st, 2009 at 3:04 am
She looks really good and all…..BUT Britney is a dancer and most of her fanbase is based on the fact that she dances so well….not to mention this is a DANCE song, made by the same guys that did Toxic….I think a HAWT dance number(s) would have redeemed the fact this is an Blackout track….no go on my part…and I love me some Brit…but no…no no no…and if you notice all her later videos have less and less dancing….wtf? Where is Baby? Where is Oops…and better…where is Slave?
July 1st, 2009 at 3:22 am
Ok… there were a little too many “sexy” slow-motion scenes of horses. Wetting them down, hanging around their butts doing their hair… lol
July 1st, 2009 at 3:39 am
I’m surpirsed that I’m part of the minority of people who actually really, really like this video. AS A VIDEO ONLY. The song isnt her greatest, i have NOOOOO Idea why they re-added it to the album. Seriously, she could have picked SO many better songs previously recorded- however, talking video, and cinematography and story AND concept…this video is pretty darm awesome. If it were a different song, and if britney wasnt SUPER pale looking, with DARK makeup, then this would have been seriously a really very well put together song and video. Her hair looked okay in the “orangey lit scenes” but the rest, she didnt look too hot. Directional wise, it was perfect. WAY WAY WAY better than If you seek amy. THAAAAAAAT was brutal.
July 1st, 2009 at 3:56 am
I liked the video, but I HATED her side ponytail.
July 1st, 2009 at 4:01 am
bleeehhh
July 1st, 2009 at 4:09 am
I wish there was less “computer Brittney”. Let the girl sing for pete’s sake.
July 1st, 2009 at 4:14 am
to be honest, it looks like hardly any thought went into it at all…it was like ok, we need to release this song, lets chose a concept we can shoot in a day and get with it…oh and add a couple of horses please.like what?come on brit, we love you, you can do sooo much better. and i actually LOVE Radar..it was one of my fave tracks of blackout.
July 1st, 2009 at 5:01 am
For once Brit DOESNT do a club scene and we criticize her for it? I love the adult-ness of the video. It makes me think Mature, Classy, all while basically having an affair. Ha, that’s our Brit! The horses in the video were a bit much. but over all i really liked it.
July 1st, 2009 at 5:14 am
Meh, it sucked. very disappointed in Britney :( I kinda felt like half way through the clip there were a lot of horses on display… Equus much?
The polo guys were hot but besides that, this clip was COMPLETELY unnecessary – Boo :(
July 1st, 2009 at 5:33 am
@ Missa I agree, but maybe this isn’t the song to show that. Had she have done other tracks maybe like “trouble, quicksand, or amnesia” for this video it would have flowed way better than this did. When I think radar my mind doesn’t automatically go to polo players and horses shaking some water off them lol. I’m not upset though she impresses me no matter what she does!
July 1st, 2009 at 5:47 am
I see Missa’s point with the “finally not being a club scene”… this could’ve been been a really hot video… but it seems like they were shot seperately… que britney in the bedroom singing to herself in her underwear, lets throw in some shots of some horses…. andd we got a video!. it was just… yawn…
missed the mark here on this one…
July 1st, 2009 at 5:47 am
@ Alex EXACTLY! The vid is great if u put it on mute and play one of her slower jams (Unusual You preferably) but it just doesnt go with radar at all and she should have chosen a slow song if she wanted to change her style.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:11 am
I LOVED the video, something very different from Ms. Spears, very sexy and chic.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:12 am
I love the video, Britney has done the entire edgy/sexy/sweaty routine millions of times that now she is more interested in the visual aspects of the video rather then the dancing. I accepted the fact that Britney grew uo and changed i guess some fans just refuse to do it themselfs.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:31 am
I think the song would have gone better with a video like Toxic, rather than this!
I just don’t really get how the story line goes with the song.
Oh, well… maybe she’ll do better next time!
July 1st, 2009 at 6:50 am
at least she looks hot and so do the polo guys… :)
July 1st, 2009 at 6:50 am
Two Words: Horse Shower?
Bestiality imagery much? like, eww!
I agree with some comments about this should totally have been in a club.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:51 am
I think on a previous board someone said something about legal issues with this song – that she was supposed to make a single with it from Blackout but due to her mental state she never could. So if it’s true that it was a legal obligation, I understand her putting minimal money/effort into this video. It was actually my favorite song on Blackout, but I was definitely envisioning more of a Toxic vibe to it than country club party, lol.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:52 am
Definitely a weird veideo for the song. I like the video….and I like the song….but together?? Weird.
July 1st, 2009 at 7:23 am
The latin love interest is delish…
July 1st, 2009 at 7:25 am
It seems like the HORSE are what’s on her radar, with all those lingering shots of the horse being hosed down, the horse’s tail being braided, the horse’s hooves… WTF?!
July 1st, 2009 at 7:29 am
@Julilly I completely agree! It looks more like she’s lusting after the horse than the rider!!
July 1st, 2009 at 7:34 am
OMG SNOOZEFEST!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This is quite possibly more lame than a Heidi Montag-Pratt whatever she’s called video.
July 1st, 2009 at 7:51 am
I agree trent sooo not what i was looking for. I like it, but its not for radar. Its like the director was listening to Unusual You the whole time he planned it out and then when he showed up to shoot it someone told him it was radar but there was no time to think of something else so they just ran with it. lol
totally! this would be a good video for that song. not radar. not diggin the vid too much.
July 1st, 2009 at 8:02 am
Did anyone else notice how much she looks like herself in the “I’m a Slave For You” days in this video? I’m so happy she back even if people think this isn’t her greatest video, it’s better then where she was a couple of years ago. =] You go Brit.
July 1st, 2009 at 10:12 am
YIKES! It’s like they’re TRYING to kill the song already!! Not the two years of listening to it didn’t do that already. Out of all the great songs on CIRCUS, why dredge this up?
July 1st, 2009 at 10:15 am
@wendell — totally agree, the song could be a big hit with a ‘Toxic’-like video. this is way too ZZZZZZZZZ
July 1st, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Meh. It happened. Shes done worse. “Do something”, “if you seek amy” etc…. give it a break. Shes goin for the whole..classy, all american look in her videos now. Let her experiment. Its been 10 years of BRITNEY. Do you really not want her doing ANYTHING but dancing in some club with lights?
Not her best, but def. not a bad video. Could be renamed to “horse porno” but, whatever. :) Britney 4 lyfe betch!
July 1st, 2009 at 2:57 pm
She looks great. But I don’t like the video. Sorry Britney. “If you seek Amy ” was a lot more ” Britney ” than this one. Still good.
July 1st, 2009 at 4:51 pm
boringgg !! like everyone said, video does not go with this song! they should have a club setting instead of this!! booo britney !
July 1st, 2009 at 6:33 pm
I am so annoyed! I am one of the biggest Brit fans out there but she’s being extremely lazy. In all honesty the music video sucks. No need to state the obvious. I just feel like she’s throwing away everything she’s ever worked hard for. Yes, I know she’s been through a lot in the past year and so but I just find it annoying. I really do. ‘Gimme More’ and ‘Piece of Me’ were better than this crap! I could film a better video if I wanted to… It may be more adult but it isn’t even trying. Sure, Britney didn’t direct it but she could’ve at least tried. I’m really starting to lose my faith in her and it isn’t because of this music video but it does add to the list.
July 1st, 2009 at 7:52 pm
What is with all this bellyaching?? So it’s not the greatest video, big whoop! I cant believe people think she’s being lazy or that no thought went into the video. A video without any thought or where she was being lazy would be yet ANOTHER nekkid, club-scene, gyrating on some random dude plotline. I give Britney major props for doing something different.
Is the horse scenes a bit much? Yes, lol. But it’s still a good video, she looks amazing and I like the storyline of choosing the guy she’s passionate about, rather than the rich guy who buys her affection. Plus, that first bit when she casually strutting from the car to the front door is one of the sexiest intros I’ve seen in a Britney video, hell in ANY video, in a while!! :) :)
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:29 am
Giddy Up! The video had a story of a woman not happy with her spoiling woman. He should have known material things don’t please a woman as much as true passion love can. That’s why Britney went with the other guy because of the stronger non-material passion they have. And Perez, “Radar” was released instead of “Kill The Lights” and “Unusual You” because Britney’s record label Jive, had a contract with the producers of “Radar” to release it as a single. If it was never released as a single, Britney’s record label Jive would be sued for Breach Of Contract. And this song is more fitting for the summer than “Kill The Lights” and” Unusual You” There actually “might” be a re-release of the hit album “Circus” with a few new songs. I’m glad her label won’t b sued anymore for “breach of contract” by releasing “Radar” this song will do well I think because it’s very established for the last 2 years. It’s even in video games, like “boogie Star” on wii” I love performing that song on there. and I remember how roudy the crowd got when she sang this song. The story line is very LeAnne rimes about lovin’ another man behind your significant other’s back. I like how she didn’t go for the obvious pop dance routine, show girl theme. It’s well done and puts more versatile art in her career – instea of the rdundant dance routien another dance routine videos alot of other artists do.
July 6th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
i mean … it’s not terrible. haha i actually kinda like it – and i think it goes pretty well with the song and everything. but, i don’t know if this is just my computer but the words and what she was lyp syncing were kinda off … i think the video was a little off there.
July 8th, 2009 at 11:08 am
woow, if u get the meaning its kinda sexual with the horse, and the tying,
but over all i was expecting something like toxic or futuristic, this video just didnt fill my expectations
love her
love the song
love the outfits
love the scenes
just not the video.
September 7th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
who is that guy at 0:33?
