Daddy Nas announces baby's name is Knight
Kelis Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

It is being reported that Kelis gave birth to a baby boy today after she reportedly went into labor in NYC yesterday. As is her right, Kelis is keeping as much info about the birth of her child as quiet as possible until she can recuperate with her newborn son for a while. Apparently, Kelis barred her estranged soon-to-be ex-husband and father of her child Nas from the hospital yesterday (according to his lawyer) so, in possible retaliation, Nas is spreading news of the baby’s birth before Kelis has a chance to. According to the proud father, the baby’s name is Knight:

KELIS has given birth to a baby boy. The singer is believed to have delivered the tot in a New York hospital today after going into labour yesterday. The child’s father Nas – who is estranged from Kelis – was not allowed to be present at the birth. A source said: “Nas is in New York City, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present. While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.” Nas’ lawyer has confirmed the 35-year-old rapper was not permitted to be in the delivery room as his son entered the world. No other details about the child have been released.

Well, no other deets have been released by KelisNas, on the other hand, is talkin’ to any and everyone about the birth of his son:

Looks like Nas and Kelis’ divorce battle just got even more bitter. After receiving news that his soon-to-be ex-wife had gone into labor yesterday morning, Nas rushed to the hospital to be at her side — but was denied access to her room, his lawyer told MTV UK. Instead of getting mad, the rapper got even — announcing the birth of their son, Knight, before Kelis could release an official announcement … During a performance last night at Queensbridge — the public housing complex in Queens, NY, where Nas grew up — the rapper announced, “My son’s name is Knight. That’s what I named the young god, Knight! Y’all heard this first.” There’s no word whether “Knight” is the child’s official name — Kelis’ camp has yet to make any statements about the birth.

HMMM … how much do you wanna bet that Kelis will NOT name her child Knight. After the jump, check out video of Nas making the announcement of his newborn son’s name to the world wide web …

Guess Which Emo Rocker Was An Emo Goth In High School

Game time!! Can you guess which emo rocker (turned family man) just posted a tweet on his official Twitter profile pointing to a blogpost featuring a photo of the guy when he was a freshman in high school? Take a look at the photo and read the description that was posted with the photo and venture a guess:

LMAO!! Napalm Death! I love it!! If you look closely, you should be able to figure out who it is. After the jump, find out who it is …

Wifey got fed up with hubby's alleged cheating
Eddie Cibrian & Brandi Glanville Are Dunzo!

In news that should come as no surprise to anyone, US Weekly is reporting that actor Eddie Cibrian‘s wife Brandi Glanville is finally fed up with his alleged extramarital shenanigans and has decided to leave him (you may recall that earlier this year it was alleged that Eddie was creepin’ around with singer LeAnn Rimes). While the big D word (divorce) has yet to be uttered, I think it’s safe to utter the other D word … the couple are dunzo, y’all:

Eddie Cibrian’s wife Brandi Glanville has left him, she confirms exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday). “Eddie and I have decided to take some time apart,” says Glanville, 36, mother of Mason, 6, and Jake, 2. “I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn [Rimes] deserve each other.” According to Us Weekly, the final straw came after Cibrian, 36, and Rimes, 26, were caught again together in the early afternoon of July 17 — four months after Usmagazine.com broke the news of their affair — outside the Malibu home of Jeff Berger, a longtime friend of the singer and her husband, Dean Sheremet. (News of Cibrian having another affair — with 24-year-old model Scheana Marie Jancan — also broke earlier this same month.) Sources tell Us that Rimes’ pal Berger has been facilitating similar meetings at his home for about a month and that Rimes and Cibrian also made use of a rental house on L.A.’s west side. (Berger denies he has been enabling an affair. Another source insists Cibrian and Rimes “hung out a bit, but that was it.”)

In response to his wife’s decision to leave him, Cibrian has released an official statement of his own on the matter:

“Apparently the press wishes to continue to play out Eddie Cibrian’s domestic situation publicly with an unfair flair of tabloid fervor. Eddie is a devoted and loving father first and foremost and the speed bump he and Brandi are experiencing needs to be worked out privately for everyone’s benefit.”

Actually, Eddie, the media is merely passing along info that was made public by your angry wife. Don’t blame the messenger. To be honest, I’m surprised that Brandi stuck with Eddie for this long. She seemed really pissed when those LeAnn Rimes rumors started to make the rounds … I thought she’d hit the door much sooner than this. Whatever the case may be, if these two are no longer committed to their marriage then it’s prolly for the best that they split. Eddie seems to want to keep his marriage together, tho … which means he’ll be spending a lot of time on his knees in the coming weeks and mebbe months.

Movie deal in place, TV deal may not happen
Michael Jackson’s Tour Rehearsal Footage Sells For $60 Million

On Monday we learned that major studios were bidding big bucks for the rights to the 1,200 hours of rehearsal footage of the late Michael Jackson prepping his This Is It Tour in the hopes that it could be released in theaters as a movie. Last we heard, bidding was reported to reach as high as $50 million and Sony Pictures was the front runner in the bidding war. There was also talk that some footage might be sold to a TV network for around $20 million for use in a TV special. Today, Entertainment Weekly magazine reports that Sony ended up buying the footage for $60 million and plans to release a movie in October. On the TV side, according to the LA Times,no network seems interested in paying out $20 million for a TV special … so either the price has to come down or there may be no TV special:

Sony Pictures has paid $60 million for the rights to release a movie of footage shot during Michael Jackson’s rehearsals for his This Is It concert tour, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will hit theaters October 30. According to other reports, AEG Live, which is said to have 80 hours of rehearsal footage at its disposal, and Jackson’s family will split Sony’s money, with Jackson’s family receiving 90 percent of the fee and establishing a charity in the late singer’s name.

Wow. First off … $60 million … wow. Secondly, October 30 will be here in no time … it’s amazing how quickly these sorts of deals get hammered out. I understand that Kenny Ortega (the choreographer of the This Is It Tour) will direct the film as he worked very closely with MJ on his vision for the show. On the TV end, tho, the early report was that a TV special might air as early as September if a deal was struck … thus far, no deal … which means no TV special:

Frenzied international interest in all things Michael Jackson notwithstanding, it appears there won’t be a TV special this fall. AEG Live, the promoter behind Jackson’s 50 “This Is It” comeback concerts in London, has been negotiating for several days with movie studios for the film rights to the concert rehearsal footage as well as broadcast rights to a tie-in television special. Although NBC was interested in the project as recently as Monday, and other networks showed interest last week, all of the networks balked over AEG’s $20-million price tag for a show that would not include any new or exclusive footage of Jackson performing, several network sources said. Originally, AEG had tried to sell the special to air Aug. 29 — Michael Jackson’s birthday — which falls on a Saturday. But logistical problems — which include Saturday being the lowest-rated night of the week for TV — compelled AEG to stipulate that networks program the special in September when TV viewers return to their couches in high numbers, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the matter. Some TV networks also feared that the TV special would be too similar in content to the documentary film that will be made out of the rehearsal footage … If AEG had gotten its way, the TV special would have been directed by Kenny Ortega (who had been working with Jackson as the director of the “This Is It” tour). The plans were for a superstar ensemble that could have included Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and will.i.am performing Jackson’s hits using the costumes, choreography, and special-effects-driven illusions engineered for the singer’s comeback tour. But no footage of the King of Pop. “And the cost of that thing is $20 million? With no Michael Jackson? Ha!” said one network source who requested anonymity.

I totally agree … $20 million dollars for NO footage of Michael Jackson? WTF? Unless a deal can be worked out soon, it looks like the only way we’ll see any of this MJ tour rehearsal footage is in theaters … on Halloween. Doesn’t that strike you as being … strange? Would YOU go see this movie in theaters?
