Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

A couple new promo pics from the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: New Moon have made their way to the Internets which I think y’all need to take a gander at. First up, we’ve got a new movie still of Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner) gettin’ all up close and personal with Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) in her ancient truck:

Clearly this scene is meant to highlight the growing attraction between Jacob and Bella that takes place thruout the course of the film. I believe you’re supposed to be thinking, Edward who? when watching this scene. After the jump, check out a new promo pic of Jacob Black giving a come hither look with his eyes as he shows off his werewolf pack tattoo …

"And you can dance"
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Last month we learned that Madonna has titled her latest Greatest Hits album Iconography and plans to release it on September 22 BUT, we’ve since learned that the album will actually be titled Celebration (with the first single also titled Celebration) and will be released on September 28. Today we get our first tease of the promo campaign for the album’s release. Here is a screencap from the new teaser video for Madonna’s greatest hits album:

This teaser video is really short, it’s only 5 secs … but I do like the graphics. After the jump, check it out for yourselves — but make sure you don’t blink and miss it …

Neverland Ranch Neighbors DO NOT WANT It To Become Jackson’s Graceland

'Never!' gonna get it
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

A group of concerned citizens who live near Michael Jackson’s famed Neverland Ranch in Los Olivos, CA are banning together to fight any attempt to make the property into a Graceland-type attraction which would attract hundreds of thousands of MJ fans for many, many, many years to come in the wake of his untimely death last month. The group called Never! are planning to thwart any and every attempt by anyone to move forward with plans to make Neverland Ranch a tourist attraction … and, in the end, they might even have a very solid fighting chance of getting their way:

Neighbors of Neverland are organizing against any move to turn Michael Jackson’s former home into a tourist destination that could disturb the area’s rural tranquility. Residents of the rural Santa Ynez Valley announced a new group Monday called “Never!” It is backed by area community organizations that want to head off any attempts to convert the Neverland ranch in remote Los Olivos into a commercial venue, spokesman Bob Field said. Field said the area doesn’t have the roads, police or other infrastructure to support crowds drawn to a Graceland-like tourist attraction, which he said would disrupt the enclave’s tranquility. Such a development would require the property to be rezoned from agricultural to commercial use, a lengthy process that would require a series of public hearings where residents could express their opposition. Santa Barbara County spokeswoman Nicole Koon said officials have not been contacted by the properties owners or the Jackson family about a zoning change. Property co-owner Thomas Barrack, meanwhile, hasn’t proposed developing the site, but Field said the Santa Ynez Valley residents in his group want solid reassurances that he won’t. “We have received mixed messages, some reassuring, some troubling,” he said. “We’d like clear, concrete signs that there are no plans to pursue turning this into a tourist attraction.” The Los Olivos Business Organization, which consists of the wineries, restaurants and boutiques along the town’s short commercial strip, released a separate statement Monday stating its opposition to a Graceland-like venue in its midst. Owen Blicksilver, a spokesman for Colony Capital LLC, the Los Angeles-based firm where Barrack is chairman and CEO, had no immediate comment. Field, the former chairman of a county-appointed community planning committee, said he was suspicious of Barrack’s motives for inviting dozens of local politicians and opinion leaders to the ranch for tours, followed by lavish breakfasts or barbecue dinners. Field, who joined one of the tours, said a Barrack representative assured guests at the event that there were no immediate plans to attempt to have Jackson buried at the ranch or to convert it to a tourist attraction. But the representative did not unequivocally disavow such plans. Field was also concerned that staff members distributed baseball caps embroidered with “Neverland 2009″ to guests.

Honestly, I wouldn’t think that any organization would be able to stop an attempt to make Neverland into Graceland primarily because the memory of Michael Jackson will live on forever and will continue to inspire rabid fandom. BUT, because the ranch is located in a very rural area that lacks the paved roads required to accommodate hordes of visitors, the Never! group may end up getting their way. That being said, I think it would be a shame for that sprawling location to go unused … except for the rural surroundings, it is THE PERFECT LOCATION to set up a memorial tourist destination for the late Michael Jackson. I’m sure the fight, should there be one, to make Neverland Ranch into a substantial tourist attraction will rage for years. I, personally, think the ranch should become MJ’s Graceland … but, then again, I don’t live in the area.

Kevin Federline To Get His Own TV Show?

K-Fed & Vicky P: Chaotic?
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Hold on to your lunches, y’all … word on the street is that Kevin Federline — washed up white rapper, Britney Spears’s moochy ex-husband and father of her children — is reportedly close to getting his own reality TV series that would feature The Federline and his new ladyfriend Victoria Prince doing whatever the hell it is that they do. I’m not sure that there is really much of a market for a show featuring two mooches living off the alimony paid out by one of the most famous pop stars on the planet but … I’m sure someone is interested … are you?

Words on the block, Kevin Federline will revisit the reality show world. The ex-husband of Britney Spears, who did “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic” in 2005 with the pop star, reportedly is on the verge of signing a deal to star in a new show. Furthermore, E! News shared that Kevin’s girlfriend, Victoria Prince, as well as his two sons with Britney, Sean Preston and Jayden James, will be joining him on the show. “Victoria is a big part of the series,” a source informed E!. “They are not engaged, but she lives with him full-time in his place in Encino.” Victoria is an ex AVP volleyball player who is taking graduate classes in communication online. “Victoria actually quit her entry-level job at Fox Sports in L.A. after meeting Kevin,” the source added. “She’s considering returning to volleyball, but isn’t sure.” Britney, allegedly, has given her seal of approval for her. “They had a meeting face-to-face, when Victoria was home alone with the kids. It was awkward, but Britney was nice,” the source continued. There has been no name, network or confirmation about the reality show yet. However, E! said that VH1 is likely to be the one picking up the series.

Gross. Not only is K-Fed trying to make a career on Britney’s coattails but now Vicky P. is trying to cash in on the coattails of K-Fed. I can’t think of a more pathetic attempt for fame. On the one hand, I suppose that with this new show comes the hope that K-Fed would actually start making his own money to take care of his children … on the other hand, methinks he’ll do everything he can to try and exploit those kids for his own show. I can tell you right now, this is NOT a show that I have ANY interest in watching … I mean, seriously … would any of y’all watch this garbage?

Samantha Ronson Puts Lindsay Lohan’s Clothes On The Street

As if they weren't dunzo enough
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

About a month ago we learned the sad news that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were dunzo again even tho they were never officially back together after the last time they were dunzo back in April. Since their most recent bout of dunzoness, L. Ron have gotten back together to mourn the loss of Michael Jackson … and then to celebrate Lindsay’s 23rd birthday. But it looks like the couple are on the outs again after Samantha seemingly put Lindsay’s stuff on her front porch and locked her out of her house … again. Here are pics of Lindsay picking up her shizz from the sidewalk in front of Sam’s home this week:

Seriously … these two have to be the MOST dramatic couple to have ever walked the face of the planet … I just LOVE them :) It’s passion like this that means that they will prolly stay in each other’s lives forever. I understand Sam was recently photographed in the company of Sopranos star Drea de Matteo … I wonder what’s going on there. Perhaps now that Sam and Drea are friends, there’s no room for Lindsay’s shenanigans? HMMMM. Only time will tell … but for now, it looks like Lindsay and her stuff is no longer welcome at Chez Ronson. Do YOU think this could be the last we’ve heard of L. Ron?

Welcome Back, ‘Potter’

The TV Guide
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Yesterday was a scorcher here in SoCal and I spent much of the afternoon running around town taking care of a few errands. It was time for my beautiful 2009 VW Tiguan, which I named Wülfgang Jürgen-Klaüs, to have its annual check-up (almost 1 year to the day that I brought my baby home from the dealership) so I spent sometime waiting for my oil change … then I had to run to the bank, the drug store and drop off a thank you gift for some dear friends of mine. I have been DYING to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince so I made damn sure to see the flick last night:

I made sure to see it in IMAX in 3D and TOTALLY loved it!! While purists are pissed that many things in the book were left out of the movie, I absolutely commend the filmmakers for continuing to bring the books to life in the best way they can. The movies will never do the books justice. Never. Ever. Never. Movies cannot be 8 hours long so things have to be left out. I honestly believe the Harry Potter movies just keep getting better. It’s amazing how much the cute little kids have grown into young adults. Their acting performances have gotten better with age as well. Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy was a revelation … his performance was excellent. I loved the blue tint quality that the movie had over all … it felt a lot like a black & while film. I really did love this big screen adapation … I want to see it again. The opening portion in IMAX 3D was fun … I might have to see it again ;)

Also, it’s time for me to re-read the series. When my reading pile gets a little smaller, I’m planning on re-reading all of the Harry Potter books straight thru. I need to be ready for the final, 2-part film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I think the only way to do the final book justice is over 2 movies … perhaps, at last, HP purisists will be satisfied.

Tonight, I’m planning on hanging out with my friend Tony … not sure what we’re gonna be doing but I haven’t seen him in ages. It’ll be good to hang out again :)
