Ryan Phillippe Shows Off His Hawt Bod

Hottie McAmazing Ryan Phillippe found a fun way to beat the heat here in SoCal this weekend by just standing around outside sans shirt. With an hot bod like the one that Ryan‘s got, it only makes sense:

Why, hello there! My, my … Mr. Phillippe is lookin’ good these days. Well, he’s lookin’ good most days but I’m particularly drawn to this photo. Don’t you just love Summertime in SoCal?

The fans want her but will 'AI' producers pay up to keep her?
Will Paula Abdul Keep Her Job On ‘American Idol’?

Last week, extraordinary news broke that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest signed a deal worth $45 million dollars to remain on the show for the next 3 seasons … and that news came after news that mean judge Simon Cowell would be getting in excess of $100 million to remain on the show. This weekend, word began to swirl that nice judge Paula Abdul is still without a contract to return to the show. Apparently, Paula wants more money to come back to AI and producers are balking at paying her what she wants … which means she might not get to keep her job. As a result, fans took to Twitter to voice their support of Ms. Abdul … and Paula has responded to fans on her official Twitter profile by thanking them for their support:

Since Friday’s news, first reported here on the Idoltracker, of judge Paula Abdul’s unhappiness with the pace, or nonpace, of negotiations to renew her “Idol” contract, a brushfire has been sweeping the Web. Using the hashtag #keeppaula, fans have been wildly tweeting on Twitter their support for the seemingly embattled judge. For a time Saturday evening, the “Keep Paula” movement made it to the No. 2 slot (see left) on Twitter’s much-contested trending topics list — falling behind only people twittering their support for Indonesia in the aftermath of this week’s terror attacks. And it wasn’t just “Idol” fans showing their support. From across Idol Nation and the Idols Live tour bus itself, former cast members were chiming in with their support.

There’s been a lot of “scary” talk that Paula would NOT be returning to the show … even her manager says that it is “unlikely” that she will return … but TMZ is reporting that she’s just playing hardball (and reportedly asking for about $20 million) and, in the end, will prolly return to the show … tho, whether or not she gets her payday is another story:

Paula Abdul is pissed off that Ryan Seacrest is a very rich man, our “American Idol” spies say. Abdul isn’t angry at Ryan personally for his new $45 million, 3-year deal, but she’s bent out of shape at producers that she’s making minimum “Idol” wage — we’re told between $2 and $3 mil a year. Our spies say producers want Paula back for sure, but she’s now doing the Hollywood thing of pretending like she’ll walk. Here’s the fun part. Auditions for the next season start on August 6. We’re told there are already plans to start the auditions without her if they don’t have a deal. As for what Paula wants — we’re told somewhere between 2 and 3 times what she’s making now. Here’s our guess — $4.5 a year … a lot better than the $5,000 a week she pulled in for season one.

I agree with TMZ, I think Paula will be back … she’ll get more money but nowhere near the $20 million mark. That show makes way too much money for producers to eff it all up by pissing off Paula Abdul‘s fanbase. I have to say, even tho all of this public negotiating is going on and the real threat exists that she may lose her job … I bet Paula is LOVING all the love from the fans. Hang in there girl, you’ll keep your job. I’m sure of it :)

Doesn't receive a very warm welcome from some diehard fans
David Beckham Returns ‘Home’ To The LA Galaxy

Altho David Beckham played his first game with his US team the LA Galaxy last week on the East Coast, last night was his first home game with the Galaxy since he defected for the first half of the MLS Soccer season to play with his newer team AC Milan. Ironically enough, the Galaxy faced Milan in a friendly match at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA last night … which essentially pit Becks‘s teams against one another. A sizable contingency of vocal and very loyal LA Galaxy fans took the opportunity yesterday to let David Beckham know exactly what they think of him … and it wasn’t very pretty:

As homecomings go, David Beckham’s return to Carson on Sunday to join the Galaxy for an exhibition game against AC Milan was the exact opposite of the Manny Ramirez lovefest that broke out at Dodger Stadium last week. It started out nasty and took a turn toward ugly as the teams left the field at halftime of what would become a 2-2 tie against the team Beckham played for last season and hopes to play for again next season. Incensed at remarks hurled at him by fans sitting in a corner of the Home Depot Center, Beckham approached them to urge them to calm down. One hurdled the barrier separating the stands from the end zone and was escorted away by security officers. “One of them jumps over to shake my hand,” he said, “but maybe not.” Definitely not. “They were saying things that really weren’t very nice,” Beckham said. “There’s always going to be a certain reaction. The majority of fans here wanted to watch the game and the great players and I think they enjoyed themselves.” Beckham got some payback in the 64th minute, when he took a corner kick in front of his most virulent critics in the so-called “Riot Squad” and watched as teammate Bryan Jordan headed the ball home. He turned to the fans to share his glee, even if they wanted no part of it. “I’m not disappointed because it doesn’t affect me,” he said of the boos. “At the end of the day you can’t be liked by everybody.” Beckham was taken out in the 75th minute after a strong performance. He finally tipped the jeers/cheers meter in his favor, but he will be a polarizing figure as long as he’s here, an obligation that lasts at least through the MLS season. This was supposed to be a friendly game, but the fans’ venom toward Beckham became the overriding story. Landon Donovan, restored to the captaincy he was forced to relinquish to Beckham in 2007, said he expected the story to change. “If he keeps playing like that, I’m sure people are going to be behind him,” Donovan said. And maybe not entirely. Not to justify the actions of morons who cross the line to insulting players’ families and other obscenities, it’s clear you can’t fool the soccer faithful. Fans here know Beckham was so intent on not coming back to the Galaxy that he reportedly paid $3 million to ensure his loan to AC Milan was extended four months past his original March 9 MLS return. Many Galaxy fans see the multi-tattooed Englishman as an over-the-hill, overpaid superstar who condescends to play once in a while, when he’s not counting the royalties on his jersey sales. They’re not entirely wrong, though injuries limited him to five games in 2007. On Sunday, they let him know how they felt in no uncertain terms.

I have to say, I’m pretty sure Becks has endured worse from rabid soccer fans in Europe … but in all honesty, what did he expect? Yes, there are some fans who will support and cheer for him no matter what he does but you cannot really fault the other fans who feel he betrayed them and, in all honesty, has done very little to actually help the team win games. To give another perspective, since I was in attendance at last night’s game, there was another contingency of LA Galaxy fans called the Angel City Brigade who were cheering for Becks and the Galaxy. On the side of the stadium where I was, there were NO boos at all for Becks thruout the entire game. After the jump, check out some pics of Becks in action during last night’s game along with some deets about the game itself

Could sell for at least $50 million
Video Of Michael Jackson’s Tour Rehearsal Footage Sparks Bidding War

In the wake of Michael Jackson‘s untimely and surprising death, producers of his massive This Is It Tour (which was scheduled to begin on July 13, 2009 at the O2 Arena in London, England and go on for 50 dates well into 2010) have been left with hours and hour of rehearsal footage that was meant to be eventually released on DVD after the tour was completed. Today we are learning just how much footage exists and what the new plan is for all of that valuable video. It turns out that AEG Live has about 1,200 hours of rehearsal footage and a movie studio bidding war has gotten underway for the rights to own that footage in order to release a concert video in theaters as early as October and a TV special … as early as September! Here are some of the deets of all the Hollywood action going on behind the scenes concerning all of this MJ video footage:

Over the weekend, Sony Pictures emerged as the front-runner in a frenzied bidding war to acquire Hollywood’s hottest entertainment property: the film rights to footage from Michael Jackson’s rehearsals for his “This Is It” comeback concert series. According to sources close to the negotiations — who declined to be identified because they are not authorized to publicly discuss the matter — AEG Live, the concert promoter behind the superstar’s planned 50-date performance residency at London’s O2 Arena, offered the rights to some 1,200 hours of rehearsal footage to all the major movie studios last week. Sony, Fox, Paramount and Universal all submitted bids. Although Fox and Universal still have bids under consideration, Sony’s aggressive $50-million offer — coupled with the fact that the global entertainment giant’s music division controls distribution of Jackson’s output as an adult solo performer and retains the right to block a competing studio from using his songs — put the studio in the strongest position, a source said Sunday. Sony also controls the so-called sync rights to most of Jackson’s songs, involved whenever recorded music is used in combination with visual images in a production, an important component in the property’s future DVD release. The plan is for the movie to be theatrically released in October. AEG is also selling the broadcast rights for a prime-time television special based around staging and choreography that Jackson personally created for his “This Is It” concerts. That property prompted fevered competition among television networks over the weekend. According to a person with knowledge of the deal, the special would be broadcast in September and it would be directed by Kenny Ortega, the choreographer-director responsible for such hits as “Dirty Dancing” and “High School Musical” who worked closely with Jackson as director of his “This Is It” performances. It is described as featuring an ensemble of superstars that might include Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am performing Jackson’s hits using the costuming, choreography, aerial ballet and special effects-driven illusions that had been engineered for the singer’s comeback, a source said. Although it’s been reported that NBC is the front-runner in bidding for the TV special, the network declined comment and denied rumors of a deal. However, sources close to NBC say it is in negotiations to air the special. An announcement about both the television and film projects is expected Monday, a person with knowledge of the deal said. Calls to an AEG spokesman were not returned. A Sony spokesman and a Universal spokeswoman declined to comment. Representatives for Fox did not respond to inquiries seeking comment Sunday.

Because no one outside of these negotiations has seen much of the footage it’s not entirely clear what the quality of all of this footage is … but sources claim much of the footage was shot in HD video and that some portions of the show were filmed in 3D (which was to be a suprise part of the show itself). At this stage, no director has been mentioned as a possible helmsman for the project but it is said that MJ‘s estate will get the “lion’s share” of the profits to come from these specials. Again, hearing about all of this footage we are left with thoughts of what could’ve been. But if this report is to be believed, it won’t be long before we’re able to see a lot more of this footage when it gets released on TV and in movie theaters.
