The Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland announced that Prince has been added to the line-up this year to perform 2 Shows, 1 Night on July 18 … and within minutes of that announcement, tickets for both shows sold out completely. Well … not entirely … the official Twitter account for the festival announced that 200 tickets for the shows will be made available at 4PM on July 18 so, if you are so inclined, you have another shot at tix. Last night David and I spent another trademark quite night at home together … he was willing to do whatever I wanted, I just wanted to veg on the couch and read. I did manage to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on TV tho … I hadn’t watched the film in full since it was released in theaters about a million years ago so it was a nice refresher for me:

I couldn’t get over how little the HP kids were … they’ve grown up so fast. Poor Emma Watson … she never brushed her hair or plucked her eyebrows during her first year at Hogwart’s. At least she’s grown into a fine young fashionista these days :)

Tonight is gonna be a fun night tho … altho tomorrow is my actual birthday, my friends and I are getting together for a lovely dinner and night of bowling at Lucky Strike! I wanted to do something fun for everyone, something that we never do … and bowling at Lucky Strike is pretty damn posh. It should be fun … I’ll be sure to have some photos to share tonight on Twitter and tomorrow on the blog.

And so … today is my last day of youth. I’m one year older tomorrow. In the immortal words of Charlie Brown‘s dog Snoopy … Blaurgh!

After playing a couple of shows in London, England and then one in Paris, France, Madonna packed up her newly expanded family and made her way out of Paris by private plane in order to make her way to Belgium for the next stop of her newly revived Sticky & Sweet Tour … here are pics of the Maddy Bunch gettin’ out of town yesterday afternoon:

Madonna will be on tour up until early September so she and the kiddies have plenty of private planing ahead of them. It looks like little Miss Mercy James is getting a crash course in luxurious living now that she’s officially part of Maddy‘s family. Here’s hoping it’s a successful tour … in every respect.

Heidi Klum, whose protruding baby bump kinda looks like it popped out her bellybutton these days, was spotted making her way to the NYC set of Project Runway this week which has begun filming its 7th season. As you should already know by now, season 6 of PR premieres on Lifetime TV on August 20 (we got our first look at the 16 new designers earlier this week) … but work has already begun on the next season … behold:

Even tho Heidi looks like she was on her way to the make-up room, I think her natural mommy glow shows thru nicely. It’s hard to know exactly when Heidi will blow but her stomach looks nice and ripe already. I know she still has some incubating to go but … she looks great :)

Now … let me preface this entire post with the caveat that NONE of this is confirmed and, at this point, it is ALL speculation … but … the industrious kids at ONTD! stumbled upon what might be a photo of R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe posing with his iPhone and with a couple of young male compatriots. Apparently, there is a semi-pornographic site called Guys with iPhones that allows guys with iPhones to post photos of themselves for all the world to see. These photos are predominately risque and oftentimes NSFW … yes folks, there is a lot of p33n in the photos. Last weekend a set of photos were submitted that were all posted at the same time, seem to have been taken in the same bathroom and MIGHT feature one R.E.M. frontman. Here is the photo in question … do you think it looks like Michael Stipe?

To be honest, I think the guy in this photo looks a bit too young and buff to be Michael Stipe … but there is a striking resemblance. Could it really be him? And if so, he is just showing off his hot young mostly nekkid male friends for everyone to see? Last October, it was officially announced that David Beckham would be allowed to go on 2-month loan to the Italian soccer team AC Milan after the team he was under contract with, LA Galaxy, agreed to let him spend the MLS Soccer off-season to play professional soccer with the Italian team. In December, Becks made his debut as an AC Milano and was treated to a hero’s welcome. In January, Becks made his official debut in the Italian Soccer League in a game against AC Milan rivals AS Roma … later that month, he scored his first (of very few) goals for his “temporary” new team. Then, in early February, David Beckham made public statements that it was his wish to quit the LA Galaxy and remain a member of AC Milan permanently … after a few weeks of haggling back and forth, AC Milan and LA Galaxy struck a deal where the Italians would be allowed to buy out his contract on the condition that Becks returns home to SoCal in July to play a few games to finish out his (overall pitiful) stint with the Galaxy. Now, after all these months later (and a quick pit-stop in London) … David Beckham finally returns “home” to SoCal:

For the last six months the Beckham clan has lived a transatlantic existence, with footballer David in Milan and his wife Victoria and their sons across the Atlantic in Los Angeles. But the family was finally reunited this morning when the couple joined their three sons at Heathrow for a flight back to their American home. David will play for U.S. team LA Galaxy until October, before returning to Milan, and is sure to enjoy the chance to spend time being a hands-on father. Today he carried four-year-old Cruz through Heathrow airport, planting a kiss on the side of his head as they shared a hug. Victoria held hands with six-year-old Romeo, who smiled for the cameras, while ten-year-old Brooklyn walked between his parents. The boys all wore matching outfits of blue t-shirts and checked shirts, perhaps picked by their fashion designer mother. But in contrast to her casual family, high maintenance Victoria was dressed in yet another designer dress, with a pair of high heels. The flight is the second long-haul journey for Victoria and David in less than 24 hours. Last night they arrived at Heathrow from the Seychelles, where they celebrated their ten-year anniversary. They left their three children with Victoria’s parents for the occasion and checked into a £2,000-a-night villa at an eco spa resort on a private island. Following yesterday’s 13-hour flight they then boarded a 12-hour flight this morning.

Funny enough, on Sunday July 19 the LA Galaxy will take on AC Milan at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA … I would assume that Becks will be playing for the Galaxy but considering the way he abandoned his team and jumped ship already, he just might suit up as an AC Milano and play for the other team. Blah. As much as I love Becks, I’m still pretty grossed out by the way he crapped out on the soccer team that not only paid him so much money but really put so much faith and hope in him. While is is great having Becks back “home” in LA, I can’t help but feel he’s still a bit of a traitor to his team. Hopefully, he’ll be hanging out at the SoCal beaches in tiny speedo swimsuits to make up for the heinous way he treated his old (and still current) soccer team.

Paris Hilton was on hand yesterday for the second day of court to defend herself against a lawsuit that has been brought against a group of investors who claim that she did not fulfill her contractual agreement with them to adequately promote their film Pledge This! As you may recall, yesterday we saw a photo and courtroom sketch of Paris in court the day before listening to the plaintiff’s case against her. On Friday, it was her turn to take the stand in her own defense … and apparently make friends with U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno:

Paris Hilton repeatedly fussed with her hair and makeup in a federal courtroom Friday, sported six-inch stiletto heels and a black dress and amused the judge with a little wave on the way to the witness stand. Once on the stand, though, Hilton was businesslike when it came to defending herself against an $8 million lawsuit’s claim that she didn’t do her part to promote the 2006 box-office bomb “Pledge This!” She acknowledged in court the movie didn’t turn out very well but insisted she plugged it for everything she was worth. “If I have my name attached to something, I want it to be as big as it can be,” the 28-year-old heiress, model and actress testified. “It could have been a lot better if it was done more professionally. I wanted it to do as well as possible.” Hilton is accused by an investor’s lawsuit of turning her back on the film, which made just $2.9 million, at a crucial time when it was being released on DVD and in foreign markets. The lawsuit seeking $8.3 million in damages claims she violated her contract by rejecting or ignoring requests by producers to appear on talk shows and do radio and magazine interviews for the film. Hilton insisted she was never told her contract required appearances after the October 2006 premiere of “Pledge This!” and said she spent more than two years promoting it beforehand, including two high-profile trips to the Cannes Film Festival in France. She also testified during four hours on the stand that she relied on her managers and agents to vet most of her promotional appearance offers because she was constantly working on projects ranging from TV shows and films to a lines of perfume and handbags. She wasn’t aware of many suggestions made by the “Pledge This!” producers, she said. “My people handle my schedule. I’m a brand. I’m a businesswoman. I have 13 different product lines. I’m always working,” Hilton said. The trial is being heard by Chief U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno, who reacted with surprise when Hilton gave him a little wave before testifying. “I’ve never had a witness wave at me before,” the judge cracked. In another exchange, Moreno was puzzled by the title of Hilton’s current reality show, “My New BFF.” “What does that mean?” he said. After Hilton gave the title — “Paris Hilton’s My New Best Friend Forever” — the judge remarked “This will be my best case forever.” Without missing a beat, Hilton replied “You’re my best judge forever” … Testimony concluded Friday but Moreno did not immediately issue a ruling. If he finds Hilton breached her contract, a separate proceeding could be held to determine any damages. The lawsuit was filed by attorney Michael Goldberg, a court-appointed receiver for a now-defunct entertainment company that was the major investor in “Pledge This!” The company, Worldwide Entertainment Group, was shut down as a $300 million Ponzi scheme by the Securities and Exchange Commission, and Goldberg is attempting to recoup losses for some 3,300 investors. Goldberg said Friday he put up the final $600,000 from his receivership account to complete the movie in hopes that Hilton’s promotion prowess would enable it to turn a profit. He said her unwillingness to do events after the premiere was the reason it lost money. “I said, ‘Just do one little thing and you’ll never hear from me again,’” Goldberg told Moreno. “We had no support whatsoever.”

LMAO!! Leave it to Paris Hilton to turn a courtroom into a circus. She may be a horribly irritating virus plaguing our innocent planet but, apparently, she is an entertaining virus who seems to have charmed the robe (as it were) off her ruling judge. At first I thought she was flirting with the court as she made her way into the courthouse but it turns out that what looked like a wink was actually nothing more than a wonk. In any event, the case now lies in District Judge Federico Moreno‘s hands … will he rule in Paris‘s favor and let her off scott free or will he determine that the Pledge This! investors’ claim is valid and hold her accountable?
