‘Entertainment Weekly’ Releases Alternate Covers For Their Michael Jackson Tribute Issue

Collect 'em all
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Yesterday we got our first look at the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly which is being published in tribute to the late Michael Jackson. Today we learn that EW will, in fact, publish 4 covers of their MJ tribute issue so that fans can have the option of purchasing their fave coverphoto … or purchasing all of the tribute coverphotos. Here is what the 4 different coverphotos for this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly look like:

If you are interested in purchasing these various copies of Entertainment Weekly, you can do so online HERE. I believe that, just like with previous issues of EW mag that published alternate covers, all 4 coverphotos will be included inside each issue. Personally, that is good enough for me.

Beth Ditto Channels Her Inner Ursula The Sea Witch

Poor Unfortunate Soul
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

So, I posted the following photo on my official Twitter account last night and it is, IMHO, too funny to not share here on the blog. Beth Ditto, lead singer of The Gossip, made an appearance at a place called Sketch (tell me about it) in London, England for a launch party for her new clothing line Beth Ditto at Evans. Ms. Ditto, who was joined at the event by friends like Kate Moss, was rockin’ a full body suit that was emblazoned with black and white dominoes … but it was her hair and make-up that made her look like someone else we all know and love:

I mean … c’mon … she is almost the spitting image of Disney villain Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid. I’m not sure if that’s the exact look she was going for but … she really nailed it.

First Look: Drake, ‘Best I Ever Had’

First single from his debut album 'Thank Me Later'
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

New R&B artist Drake (née Aubrey Graham) has released his debut music video for his debut single Best I Ever Had. The video was directed by Kanye West and is the lead single from Drake’s as yet unreleased debut album Thank Me Later. Here are a few screencaps from the just released music video:

As you may recall, Drake has been romantically linked with Rihanna and has been taken under the wings of both Kanye West (who directed his video), Jay-Z (who is rumored to have offered Drake a very lucrative record deal) and Lil’ Wayne (who has been mentoring his career thus far). It really sounds like Drake has got a lot of powerhouses in his corner … he’s bound to succeed, right? After the jump, check out Drake’s video for Best I Ever Had in full …

Filming On ‘The Runaways’ Continues In SoCal

The gang's all here?
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Last week we saw photos of Kristin Stewart (portraying Joan Jett) and Dakota Fanning (portraying Cherie Currie) filming their first scenes for their new biopic movie The Runaways and today we get to see a few more photos from the SoCal movie set. Kristen (as Joan) gets unruly on top of a car while Dakota (as Cherie) rocks a pair of unruly platform high heel boots:

Those are some serious boots, Dakota! Damn. I gotta admit, tho, the more I see from this movie the more I want to see the final product. I’m a fan of quite a few songs by The Runaways, I’d really love to see how they got their start in the biz. After the jump, check out a photo of Kristen and Dakota with some of their film castmates — I believe it is our first look at the main characters in The Runaways

Britney Spears Takes Her Sons On A Boat Cruise

Ahoy, bitches!
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Earlier this week, our dear Britney Spears packed up her young’ns — Sean Preston and Jayden James — and took her small family out for a boat cruise in Marina del Ray, CA for a little mini family trip together. The only person missing on this little day excursion was Britney’s new paramour, Jason Trawick, but it looks like Brit and her boys had a great time nonetheless:

How about dem sunglasses … adorable!! Britney even mentioned this little boat trip on her official Twitter account, saying:

Had a great day with my boys yesterday on a boat. Was so much fun. -Britney

But the relaxing fun times here at home are pretty much coming to an end as Britney is scheduled to make her way back to Europe to resume her tour The Circus starring Britney Spears. Her next performance is on July 4 (US Independence Day) in Paris, France. Oh la la! These pics are supercute and it’s great seeing Britters spend some alone time with her boys in the midst of all the touring that she is doing.

The Public Funeral Of Michael Jackson Will Take Place In LA On July 7, 2009

According to RadarOnline.com
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

On Tuesday we were told that the public memorial service for the late Michael Jackson would be held this Friday July 3 on the grounds of Neverland Ranch but on Wednesday the Jackson family issued a statement denying reports that either a public or private memorial service would be held at Neverland. The family stated that a public memorial would be announced “soon”. RadarOnline.com now reports that the public memorial service/funeral for Michael Jackson will take place on Tuesday July 7 at 10AM PT at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, CA:

Michael Jackson’s family and advisors have finally made a decision on where to hold a memorial service celebrating the late singer’s life and career. It will be Tuesday, July 7 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. The 20,000-seat venue is where Michael spent his last night. He rehearsed there for his upcoming London concerts, right up until midnight on June 24. Jackson died the following afternoon.

I’m also hearing that the adjoining Nokia Theater will also be used for the public funeral on Tuesday and that large screens will broadcast in the outdoor courtyard of the venue for the people who are not able to get inside either venue. Keep in mind that there has been NO official confirmation from the Jackson family on this latest report from RadarOnline but it would make sense that this would be the plan. The Staples Center is large enough to house a massive audience, it is easily accessible to so many people and it was the site of MJ’s last performance ever as he dress rehearsed for his planned This Is It Tour (on the night before he died of cardiac arrest in his home in Holmby Hills, CA last Thursday). Also, it is a way for AEG (the concert promoter who is losing MILLIONS now that MJ’s tour in the UK won’t happen and just so happens to own the Staples Center) and the Jackson family to sell tickets for the memorial. Take this report for what it’s worth … only a report. Until we get official confirmation, I’d hold off on making plans to attend this funeral service.

Kevin Jonas & Danielle Deleasa Are Gettin’ Hitched!

Who? What? SERIOUSLY?!
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

People magazine is reporting EXCLUSIVELY that eldest Jonas brother Kevin is — get this — engaged! According to the mag, Kevin has decided to ditch the purity ring and asked his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa to be his wife … and she said yes (actually, People reports that she said “yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row”). So … yeah … Kevin Jonas is gettin’ hitched, y’all:

Kevin Jonas surprised his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa by showing up at her doorstep in New Jersey early Wednesday morning and dropping down to his knee to ask her to marry him. Presented with a cushion-cut diamond ring that Jonas designed with Jacob & Co., Deleasa couldn’t believe what was happening. Then, “She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row,” the oldest of the Jonas Brothers tells PEOPLE exclusively. Jonas, 21, and Deleasa, 22, who met in May of 2007 while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas, haven’t set a wedding date yet. “It still feels like a dream,” she tells PEOPLE.

I, uh, suppose congrats are in order for the happy couple. It seems almost Biblical that folks this young would choose to get married but the Jonas Bros. are kind of a religious bunch. Head over the People.com HERE to read the rest of this amazing tale … including how the couple met and fell in love. This is … good news, yes?
