‘True Blood’ Season 2 Premieres In Hollywood
Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and other castmembers of HBO’s hit new vampire drama True Blood made their way to Paramount Studios lot here in Hollywood, CA for the premiere of season 2 of the show. The second season of True Blood debuts on HBO this Sunday night but the big celebratory party took place last night … here are a few photos from last night’s premiere party:

I quite enjoyed the first season of the show when it debuted on HBO last Summer so I am very much looking forward to season 2. I managed to rewatch the last few eps of the first season this week and was reminded how good the story is. I hear that the drama in the upcoming second season is not to be missed. I LOVE Michelle Forbes who plays the mysterious shapeshifter (?) Maryann on the show (I also loved her very much as Ensign Ro Laren on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Lynne Kresge on 24, Admiral Helena Cain on Battlestar Galactica and estranged wife Kate on In Treatment). Forbes is absolutely one of my favorite character actresses … she is really fantastic. I’m glad she was added to the cast of True Blood. I’ve refrained from watching any preview screeners of the show only cuz David and I love watching the eps as they air on a weekly basis. I must admit, I love that True Blood has more gritty bite than The Twilight Saga has … while the tweens can sink their teeth into Twilight, adults can much more enjoy the fun on True Blood. I’ll deffo be tuning in this Sunday night for the season premiere of True Blood … can’t wait!!

If you enjoy the show, definitely check out the books…they’re SO good…infinitely better than Twilight, IMO…

I sooooo cannot wait for Sunday! It’s good to see Michael Raymond-James at the premiere, though he was clearly offed in Season 1. RIGHT??
Oh, and I think Maryann is a maenad and not a shape shifter. She is going to kick some serious ass in Season 2!!

I am absolutely crazy about this show! It’s brilliant and Anna Paquin is so adorable!

I love me some True Blood too! I hope Lafayette isn’t dead. My guess is he is going to be a vampire now. His character was way to genius to kill off that quick. I am so excited for the second season!! I am also excited for Hung…that looks funny!!

I love True Blood. Can’t wait for the next season to start! Stephen Moyer is hot!

June 10th, 2009 at 10:34 am
@joanna — OMG, I had forgotten she joined the cast! I’m curious … but I think she’ll be a great addition.

This show is one of the best shows on t.v. I am soooo looking forward to Sunday!!!

I love the books (I’m on the 6th one–Definitely Dead). I am just watching the first season right now b/c we don’t have HBO. So far the first season seems to be following the first book pretty closely. I’ve only seen 4 episodes, so that change. {{I’ll go ahead and say this next statment will be spoilery if I’m right…}} But if the second season is like book two, then Lafayette is really dead, not vampire dead.

I have to agree. I haven’t seen anything with her in it, since ‘Thirteen’, but i think she’has some chops as an actor. I believe she’ll be playing a Queen of the Vampires who’s stronger than Eric. Now that is going to be an interesting story line!!

I LOVE Tru Blood! I really enjoy the character of the show! It’s so entertaining! I loved the books! You should check the books out….

Sooo excited for Sunday to come when True Blood comes back on the air. I have HBO for free for 3 months (and hopefully I can convince the BF to keep it after that), and I’m so pumped to watch this show when it airs instead of waiting for it to come out on DVD (like I had to do for the 1st season–which was just a couple of weeks ago). The books are awesome too. I devoured them down to the last one released in May. I love me some Alexander Skarsgard. My oh my he is hot and makes a perfect Eric. Actually, the whole cast is a fantastic match with the characters in the book. They really did a good job of bringing the books to life, and even the stuff they add really works well.

I can’t wait! I loved the storyline with Sam and Tara but I don’t think that will be around this season

I tried to get in to this series but just couldn’t get over the ridiculous accents and overall goofyness of the characters. I sat through 4 episodes and called it quits.
To bad, I really looked forward to having it fill the Twilight gaps.

Overall I enjoyed season one. I read all 9 books to the ‘Sookie Stackhouse” series and I was a bit disappointed that they added so much more to the series. The books are great though. I understand how entertaining this series is for everyone, but reading all 9 books, I know how things are supposed to play out and I get annoyed when things get changed/added. we’ll see if they can stick more to the plot in season two. They need a better Eric though.

I would’nt count out Sam and Tara just yet, MissJ. Remember, Tara is living with MaryAnn, which Sam is involved with in some way. Don’t give it away you book readers, lol!

Funniest Tru Blood headline, i came across from an article:
“Tru Blood Sucks, But In A Good Way”.
WTF, corn, lol!

I love True Blood! Can’t wait for the second season. Love the Stephen and Anna are a couple in real life. They have great chemistry!
June 10th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I’M SOOOO EXITED!
June 10th, 2009 at 11:34 am
I love Michelle Forbes too! It seems that she has been popping up everywhere lately…she was even in LOST last year (as the PR person for the Oceanic 6). She is terrific in anything that I have seen, but it seems like this is a super-cool role for her!

I just started to watch True Blood. I am a HUGE Twilight fan so it’s taken a little getting used to the similarities and differences and the GOD AWEFUL FAKE SOUTHERN ACCENTS but it’s a really good series and I can’t wait to finish up last season and start this season!!!!!!!!!!!

I have so much LOVE/HATE for this show!!
I read and worshiped the books first so I freak whenever Alan Ball makes serious changes (Sam and Tara?!?!!? serious WTF!!!) but as much as i cant stand some of it.. I love it way more!! The show is amazing and I have to watch to see what else changes!!
And I want to show to live on until at least season 4 so it will show the fourth book!! <3 ERIC <3 ..le sigh.. he is the best!! screw Bill!!!
In conclusion.. I anxiously await the new season~~

Read the books! I love the series, but the books are like library crack. :) Would work wonderfully for long plane trips!

I love the Sookie Stackhouse novels! But, to be honest, I was a little disappointed with Dead and Gone. As the books go on, they lose a little bit of steam but that’s just my personal opinion. I feel that they’re a little dragged out. And yes, I agree that the Twilight Saga is aimed for teens and True Blood is aimed towards adults because of the profanity and sex. I do get annoyed with the show here and there but overall it’s pretty good in the hood. I’m still getting used to Anna Paquin as Sookie but I’m sorry, her teeth annoy me!

I loved the books and I love the series. I can’t freaking wait for Sunday!!!! I might have to watch it oNline since DISH TV was being shady…stupid dish!
June 10th, 2009 at 4:58 pm
The way bill says “Sookie” makes my heart go pitter patter, even if it is with a horrible accent. I love this show so much! I just got the books, so I’ll be diving into them soon.
June 10th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
I read the first 8 books in January (yes, they’re that good that I read 8 of them in a month) and just finished the 9th and am SOOOOOO excited that the series is back on Sunday! This is seriously the best show on tv right now.
June 11th, 2009 at 11:18 am
I LOVE THIS SHOW.
I have the final ep from last season to watch then I’m ready for the new season!
So much better than twilight. I AM SO PUMPED.
I gotta stop reading these comments though. There appear to be a few spoilers
