There’s Always Next Year
The TV Guide

It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I must report that my beloved Detroit Red Wings were unsuccessful in their bid to win the 2009 Stanley Cup. Altho Game 7 was played at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI, the Wings were unable to pull out the victory last night …

… that said, I am very proud of the Wings this year. They played an amazing season, provided countless hours of fun sports entertainment and did Detroit very proud, once again, this year. Congrats goes to the Pittsburgh Penguins on their win. If you are able to win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit Rock City then you absolutely deserve the Stanley Cup. Props to my hockey buddy Dino for keeping me sane thru the finals this year. All of my love and respect goes out to the Wings, tho. I am very much looking forward to next season already.

And now that hockey season is over, I can focus my attention on the Los Angeles Lakers:

I’m not a big basketball fan but I have adopted the Lakers as my bball team since I’ve been living here in SoCal. Game 5 of the NBA Final takes place here in Orlando, FL tomorrow night … here’s hoping they can pull out the win and give me something sporty to celebrate ;)

David and I are seeing the sneak preview of The Proposal tonight. Altho the movie doesn’t open in theaters until next weekend, check the theaters in your town to find out which one is showing the movie tonight if you wanna see it early.

  2. KP Love says:

Even though the Lakers are up 2 games, I’m pullin’ for O-Town!

  3. Tricia says:

@ KP Love, GO MAGIC!!!!! : ) I believe in Magic. Damn that team is cute. They all work together so much. I heart them.

  4. EJJGAL says:

WHERE ARE YOU DETROITGIRL? TOLD YOU THE PENS WERE GOING TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!

  5. Pens Fan says:

It’s kinda lame that you couldn’t even give the Penguins the respect they deserve and put a picture of them with the cup up. Kinda classless like the rest of the fans in Detroit. I was just happy I could be there to watch the Pens take what was always rightfully theirs.

  6. Lauren says:

Band waggoner!!!! You adopted the ONE team that deserves to be EXILED!!! Kobe gets away with RAPE!! All the Lakers do is FOUL FOUL FOUL!! BOO on you!! First the Red Wings and now the Lakers… Tsk tsk… I am dissapointed.

  7. Megan says:

Yeah Pens, yeah Pens. Quite some classless acts I saw coming from the Detroit fans; yes lets cheer with Sidney gets seriously injured and boo when the Pens are formally announced as the champions. I give mad props to you though, Trent. You are a very classy guy, thanks for not being a sore loser.

  8. Kristen says:

Classless Detroit fans… right. I guess you missed the Finals last year when the Pens fans all left their arena when Detroit won. I saw Joe Louis full last night, giving respect to the team who won.

  9. alex says:

The pens fans stayed last year and respectfully cheered when the red wings won. But who cares? That was last year. Pens won this year!! Whoo!!!

  10. Megan says:

Uh no, at the end I saw that arena empty and heard screams from the Pens fans who were left when Mario Lemieux was giving his interview for one of the local news stations; don’t think I didn’t watch the coverage until it was all over. The Detroit fans had disgusting behavior, that can’t be denied.

  11. Amy says:

I was at Game 7 and the Detroit fans were sore losers. They couldn’t swallow the fact that the Penguins were the stronger and better team. Some of them were nice enough to shake our hands and congratulate us but for the most part they booed, made rude comments, left and made crying noises towards Crosby. Unfortunately for them, they were the only ones crying. I was also at Game 5 and I would have to say that fans were just downright garbage at that game so the reactions at game 7 were a bit of an improvement.

Ans as far as last year goes, the Mellon Arena stayed full, us Pens fans didn’t boo anybody but stayed out of respect and wanted to see the cup. The team, city and FANS deserve this win! LETS GO PENS!

Apparently also, Taylor Lautner was also in attendance! Just a little side note!

  12. Megan says:

Amy, yeah Tyler was there. If you go on The X’s website and look at the pictures from game seven, they have a few of him. And thank you, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks they acted completely ridiculous.

  13. Megan says:

I’m sorry, Taylor haha, I don’t know why I put Tyler.

  14. yowzers says:

sidney crosby graduated from my high school wooooo haha. not that he went he did it through correspondence
