Robert Pattinson Films New Movie ‘Remember Me’ In NYC
Bizzy Bizzy

We know that Twilight star Kristen Stewart is already hard at work in pre-production of her next non-Twilight film (The Twilight Saga: New Moon wrapped production in late May/early June) and has already changed her appearance for her new film The Runaways … but what of the other Twilight star Robert Pattinson? Well, it turns out that he, too, has begun work on his next film. Here are photos of R. Pattz in NYC over the weekend on the set of his new non-Twilight film Remember Me:

Pattinson will play the lead role in “Remember Me,” a story of a young couple whose burgeoning relationship is complicated by a succession of family tragedies that test their bond, according to ScreenDaily.com. The makers of the film, which had previously been titled “Memoirs,” have not yet settled on which actress who will play Pattinson’s love interest. Emmy-winning director Allen Coulter (“The Sopranos,” “Damages”) will direct, and Jenny Lumet, who penned the script for last year’s critical darling “Rachel Getting Married,” is working on a draft of the screenplay … Summit is staying tight-lipped about plot specifics, but co-chairman and CEO Patrick Wachsberger likened “Remember Me” to “Love Story,” the classic 1970 romance starring Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Landing the “Remember Me” lead marks the first major role for Pattinson since he rocketed to public adulation for his portrayal of vampire Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” franchise. He had been signed to appear alongside Rosario Dawson in “Parts per Billion,” but was forced to drop out due to his “New Moon” commitment.

Never fear rabid Twilighters, Remember me is scheduled to wrap production in time for Rob to begin working on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse in August. I really hope that Pattinson is getting paid a lot of money for this new film … from the small amount of info we have about its premise, it doesn’t sound all that interesting. I guess the Powers that Be are really trying to milk him for all the romanticness that they can. I’m much more interested in Kristen Stewart‘s new film which is a biopic on the 70′s all girl punk band The Runaways. At least these two are both working this Summer … which, I guess, is the more important thing. It just goes to show that man (and woman) cannot live on Twilight alone.

K’s movie sounds way more interesting!

  2. A says:

He’s too cute!! I think the cast his love interest as Emilie de Ravin who was in Lost.

  3. Nikki says:

The only other Rob movie I’ve seen is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and he barely spoke. I’m very interested to see how he fares!

  4. Jenny says:

Who cares who else is in this movie or if it’s interesting at all. It’s got Rob in. What else is there to say? I’m so excited and I hope there’s a love scene. lol!

  5. Ashley says:

Emilie de Ravin is playing the lead female role of Ally, and the script is actually quite heartbreaking. It definitely won’t be as big as Twilight but it’s going to be an amazing movie and I’m excited to see it!

  6. Monique says:

Does anyone know where this is filming in the city?

…. Not that i’m like going to go and spy… cuz that would be totally creepy. … right?

  7. Ally says:

He and Kristen are going to be exhausted when this summer is over. Filming three films in a row is a lot!

Trent you have the old description. The new one from variety sums it up better and sounds far more interesting:

Pattinson plays a young man whose brother’s suicide has split up his parents (Brosnan and Olin) and left him sleepwalking through life. De Ravin will play a young woman who, after watching her mother get killed before her eyes, seizes life to its fullest.

Kristin’s movie may sound better but it will bomb at the box office just any of her other movies that aren’t Twilight! Robert Pattinson, however, will most likely be successful in every non Twilight movie he’s in. He’s still kind of channeling Edward in these pictures… hopefully he can break away from that role.

man this is one good looking guy…simply GORGEOUS!!!!

  11. Roxster says:

Thanks for the update Liz! I was gonna say….if he is already on set then they must have a script already. And I’d heard that Emilie had been cast. It sounds sort of interesting, but dramas in general haven’t faired that well at the box office lately. having Rob in the cast can’t hurt though. He looks great in these pics!

  12. Michelle says:

Hmm Rob is in NYC you say?! I’ll be visiting up there next week so I will have to keep an eye out!!

  13. sez says:

I can’t wait to see this movie, but i’m also hoping he wins the role of Jeff Buckley in a Bio Pic about his life over James Franko. I can totally see Rob in this role. and Jeffs music was amazing.

  14. bubblegum says:

Ok, yeah—freakishly hot. I have to admit it!

  15. TRUENYC says:

the movie is filming on 8th street and university place by NYU look for the bright yellow street flyers and giant trailers.. cant miss it!

  16. procrastination101 says:

i went there today! he filmed in the silver center building on the nyu campus! it’ll probably be different tomorrow though. man what a freaking frenzy when he came out!!! apparently earlier in the morning some girl jumped on him!!!

    *sigh*….

Kristen’s movie definitely sounds like it’ll be much more interesting than RPattz’s. But, that doesn’t mean that’ll do better when it comes out. All of the teeny bopper girls who are obsessed with RPattz will probably pay money to see anything he’s in. And if it’s romantic, they’ll be swooning in the seats, for sure.
From the sounds of this, though, I don’t think I’ll be seeing it.
