I saw this show and it was incredible!!! Frankly, I am glad they didn’t do “Closer”. The crowd was chanting for them to do it, but I felt like it was better left with “Hurt”. “Reptile” was crazy!! Their lights are amazing! One of the best shows I have EVER seen! Bonnarrooooo!!!!

As far as I’m concerned, T-Rez will keep NIN around. It’s part of him, so I don’t think he’s never gunna play another Nails show again. He just needs a break to try other things. Who knows, maybe in a couple of years, he’ll put out the best record we’ve ever heard xD

I was lucky enough to be there last night, because Manchester is my hometown. All I can say about the show is it was fucking amazing! It was my first NIN show and I’m incredibly sad that it will be my only one, but it was definitely one I will never forget.

@Jetsettter – Thanks for the info! The show I saw a month ago was my first ever and, even though I didn’t mind that they didn’t play the song, I was just a little bewildered..It makes sense that they wanted to do more fan favorites..

Kendra, they chose NOT to play Closer on this tour because they have played it in various forms at every show since they resumed touring in 2005. As much as I love Closer, it’s been played to death. Since this was the “Wave Goodbye” tour—Trent chose to fill the playlist with some long time fan “suggestions” more obscure stuff like “Now I’m Nothing”, the Gary Neuman cover of “Metal” and the song he co-produced with David Bowie “I’m Afraid of Americans”.

I’m sad that it appears that they are ending the tour in a corner of the world where the fanbase is smaller and not “at home” in LA or whatever—but after some of the psycho shenanigans of people on this tour, I can’t say I blame Trent if he is done touring forever.

Being a fan since 93 and seeing 20 shows over the years, all I can say to Trent (and all the talented folks he has worked with) is Thank You…and I can’t wait to see what you do next!

Is there a reason they never do the song Closer? I haven’t seen it on any of the setlists for this tour and they definitely didn’t play it when I saw them..Is it because it was a pretty huge single and they just don’t want to go the obvious route? It just seems odd..

ok, I was impressed…and then I saw The Fragile make its way on there, and now I’m officially jealous beyond belief. I have never gotten a chance to see that song live.
