In late April LOGO TV and Pink is the new Blog asked for YOUR help in deciding which celebrity is Ruining Pop Culture in 2009 and that determination has been made. Altho the 2009 NewNowNext Awards were handed out in May, the show does not air until TONIGHT at 9PM ET on LOGO TV. um, lindsay lohan, paris hilton, heidi montag, just to name a few who i think are FAR WORSE than Miley Cyrus.

Initially I agreed with this but after reading the other comments I would have to agree, Lindsey, Paris, and Heidi are muuuuch worse than Miley!

This is true…spiedi, paris hilton, lindsay, tila tequila (just to name a few) are all far worse than Miley Cyrus. I actually think Miley Cyrus is pretty cool for her age and I think she will be the next Britney Spears seeing as she is so rich, famous, talented, and full of personality at the tender age of 16. Thumbs down, I think y’all got this one wrong.
Miley Cyrus is the epitome of pop culture, I don’t think she can be ruining it if she is synonomous with it.
People like Spiedi, Paris Hilton, Lindsay, etc are jokes. They’re annoying, you seem them on gossip rags and reality shows. But you go to any store, anywhere, and half the crap has ‘Hannah Montana’ on it. Everything’s going the way of Highschool Musical, Hannah, the JoBros, Twilight.

Yes! I personally can’t stand Miley Cyrus, and a lot of it has to do with how young girls worship her. She’s obviously not rooted in reality at ALL, she’s made a few bad decisions too (like those wet t-shirt pics?) but conservative Americans think she’s the greatest thing ever.
I 100% agree. Sure, I can’t stand Speidi or Paris Hilton, either…but Miley takes the cake for me. It’s much, MUCH easier to ignore Speidi and Hilton than it is to avoid Miley. She is absolutely everywhere (and with no right to be, either). She deffo deserves the title, for sure.

@ Maureen – How is she the epitome of pop culture? Her character Hannah Montana may be popular but its just a fad in pop culture. Miley Cyrus herself only has one album released under her own identity and as of right now her personal life is more popular than her music which isn’t a good start for being so young in her career… She’s only famous famous for her character Hannah Montana but that’s about it.
Yeah I happen to think Miley Cyrus sucks a ton, but I agree that their are so many other “celebs” who are doing just as bad if not worse. Instead of one award they should have a show about it. I personally would put VH1 and MTV on the list of things ruining pop culture, because they’re the ones who introduced us to all these morons.

I think they made the wrong choice. I think Heidi Montag and that joke of a husband would have been a more appropriate decision. They would go to an opening of an envelope. I agree with most of the other posters: Lindsay Lohan, Paris, Speidi, etc., are celebrities based on the fact they merely exist and nothing more. Lindsay has talent, but her desire for the wrong things has overtaken her abilities.
I agree w/ chase. For a girl @ her age, should give some respect to her image. Focus more on her career than just daing around… ahaha
