I’m sure to some people it is very tragic that he died, but I am sure all the people making jokes didn’t care about him when he was alive, so why do they all of a sudden care now that he’s dead?
Just maybe keep the jokes to yourself.

The Lord gave Farrah Fawcett 1 wish when she died. She wished that all children in the world would be safe! The Lord granted her wish and killed Michael Jackson.

If he had a pain killer addiction then Demerol certainly didn’t help the strain on his heart. What if he had an allergic reaction? It sounds strange but my mother, who was able to take ammoxicillain for decades had an allergic reaction a few years back. We had to give her Benadryl right away to counteract the allergy. Maybe the Demerol triggered something of the same? It’s speculation but I mean really what else is there?
And the pictures of the previous night just make it all hurt worse. He looks better than I’ve seen him in a long time in those top two pics. It’s surreal that not even 24 hours after those were taken he was in the morgue… I think I need to go cry again. :(

Jstar – The doctor you work for is partially right. Demerol is not widely used these days, but any narcotic (morphine, dilaudid, etc) can suppress the respiratory drive. In appropriate doses, they won’t cause a person to stop breathing, but if someone was given too much of any narcotic it could potentially cause that person to stop breathing altogether. Respiratory arrest will quickly lead to cardiac arrest, which is nearly always fatal unless a defibrillator is used immediately.

Devastated does not even begin to describe this. Michael’s passing can be likened to that of Princess Diana, John Lennon, Elvis – it is a moment that I will never forget… where I was, what I was doing, how I heard. While he was greatly misunderstood at times no one can take away the gifts that he gave the world in his short lifetime. His music and dance moves will forever be remembered and never duplicated – there will never be another Michael Jackson. RIP Michael, you will be missed forever

@Mariah – sadly, with the exception of Princess Diana, all of the icons you mentioned likely died as a result of prescription drug overdose/interaction. And that drug use was likely as result of their icon status…

I woke up this morning and I was like, “Wait…was that a dream?” But no, it wasn’t a dream. It’s still so unreal. The King of Pop is dead. Do you ever notice that several icons have died long before their time? – Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Princess Diana, and now Michael Jackson. Though, I can’t help but wonder if their death has ultimately pushed them to that “iconic” state. Nevertheless, RIP Michael! You will be remembered for generations to come.

One of the saddest things I’ve seen in my 16 years. Though I only grew up hearing the bad things of Michael’s life, I still think of him as a true icon. He was talent. He was stardom. He was Michael Jackson.

Along with those like Heath Leger, we have suffered a major loss. And like Anna Nicole Smith, I am sad to see his life end so tragically.

Rest in peace, sweet King.

I work for an MD, who says Demerol will not kill you alone, it must be mixed with some other drug to be lethal. If he was addicted to pain killers he may have mixed the two drugs which caused his heart to stop. so frickin sad
