Michael Jackson Passes Away At 50

TMZ reports singer dies, LA Times confirms
June 25th, 2009

I have no words right now … but TMZ is reporting that Michael Jackson has passed away from the cardiac arrest he suffered about an hour ago.

UPDATE: Watching CNN and they have yet to report that Jackson has died but TMZ, who first reported the cardiac arrest, is reporting that he has passed away. This is the report from TMZ:

We’ve just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50. Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back. A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest. Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but they had no luck. We’re told one of the staff members at Jackson’s home called 911. LaToya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead. Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

I am in complete and utter shock. This is so unreal. I am literally speechless …

UPDATE: The LA Times is now confirming, along with TMZ, that Michael Jackson has died:

Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.

Michael Jackson absolutely had his flaws but he was truly an icon. I’m just … stunned.

  13. Liza Says:

It’s on TMZ but not on CNN yet. CNN is talking about it on TV right now though – that he was hospitalized but not that he was dead. Not yet. They haven’t said it yet. Let’s hope TMZ is wrong.

Stunned, just stunned sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks. Just when I thought maybe, just maybe, he’d come back to remind everyone what a great singer/performer he is.

  33. tina Says:

CNN website states they confirmed with fire captain that a 911 call came from Jackson’s home, but they don’t confirm death due to “federal laws” regarding privacy

  34. poopysmom Says:

  39. Kristin Says:

and also so sad that he’s leaving behind 3 relatively young children. So, so sad.

  40. Dennis Says:

    :O OMG!

  41. procrastination101 Says:

i’m watching msnbc and they are saying he’s in a coma :-\ no one has said he’s dead yet and i’m tentative to believe tmz, celebrity blogs are not the most reliable source :’(

  42. Mary Says:

CNN hasn’t confirmed, but they have posted this:

“The music icon from Gary, Indiana, was known as the “King of Pop.”

Jackson was the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.”

  43. Nikki Says:

I think I need time off of work!!! I’m hoping MSNBC is correct…TMZ can prove to be an unreliable source…ANY UPDATES TRENT???

  44. GlossGirl Says:

watching CNN now..I’m so saddened over Farrah, I couldn’t bare MJ to be gone too. While I haven’t been a fan of his work in the last 20 15 years, I definatly don’t think many people can handle loosing two icons in one day. There talking about his albums and children, which is nice to hear about but distracting from what we all want to know!. I hope this isn’t true.

  45. Nicola Says:

I feel sorry for his family. Otherwise I’m er… okay with this. Celebrity or not, he was way too freaking creepy.

  46. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Nikki — No updates of confirmation from other sources yet but TMZ is not a celebrity blog. They have real sources and, unfortch, have a great track record with reports like this. My guess, he has died and the Jacksons are asking that other newssources do not announce his death until the family can be told first.

  47. Kelly Says:

Such terrible and sad news :(
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

  48. Moves Says:

For those who believe in threes, Michael (unfortunately) starts a new set. David Caradine, Ed McMahon, and then Farrah. Michael starts at one…

  49. Mary Says:

CNN just changed the ‘was’ to ‘is’ in their report. I don’t know if it has any real relevance, but this is such a sad day. :(

  50. vic Says:

They also will want to have their PR team to prepare a statement which is another reason they might ask that the info not be released yet.

    So sad.

No matter what people think about him. You can’t deny he is an icon who, in all actuality, is now gone before his time.

My prayers go out to his family. And his three young kids.

  51. Liza Says:

CNN JUST NOW reported that he’s in a coma.

  52. Reham Says:

“Michael Jackson is now in a coma” – CNN.
    -
I really don’t know what to believe.
    -
It’s too shocking. The King of Pop disappearing? I think one of the reasons I can’t keep my mouth shut is because it’s so sudden. So very sudden. It’s 1:22 am here.

  53. GlossGirl Says:

Thats true. There saying from many sources that he is in a coma, his family is being called to come see him. Oh jeeze. This is terrible. He will more then likely soon be taken off life support.

  54. Leah Says:

The LA Times is now confirming his death:

  57. Ibby Says:

CNN still says that he’s in a coma…it’s being confirmed on MSNBC now…this is seriously unbelievable. SO unbelievable.

  58. Liza Says:

CNN is showing people showing up to the hospital to stand outside. Oh, I’d so go if I was that. So sad. It seems like CNN is like building up to say he died. Like they don’t just want to SPRING it on us so quick.

  59. sc Says:

But I’m still so sad about this.

  62. NessaInRainbows Says:

Fox news and los angeles time is saying he is IN A COMMA

  63. Randy Says:

This is so depressing. Regardless of what the headlines suggested about him over the years, Michael was an huge influence to the music industry. I can assure you that this news is not only devastating to fans, but to the musicians who looked to him as an inspiration. Please people, let his memory and the legacy he created not be smeared with stupid comments about his past.

  64. Joanna Says:

CNN has sorta confirmed via the LA Times that he has died. This has to be one of the saddest weeks in the entertainment business. First Ed McMahon, then Ferrah Fawcett, and now Michael Jackson. Three of the greatest entertainers in recent memory. They will be sorely missed :(

  65. Shannon Says:

    Musically? This is a loss.
Personally? I wish his family all the best in their sorrow, and that his children will live normal lives from now on.

    First Farrah, and then MJ.

Horrible, horrible day. My heart goes out to both their families.

  88. Hannah Says:

@allie – you probably think OJ was innocent as well. He was a great pop star but that doesn’t not wipe away the hurt he probably caused a lot of children. And if he was any other molestor many people would be breathing a sigh of relief that he had died and could do no more harm to anyone. It might be cold hearted but its the truth.
Of course its sad when anyone dies but there are better people out there who have died today that deserve more respect.

  89. Renee Says:

i am in shock. i feel bad for his kids and their future…

  90. Tim S Says:

  100. PixiesBassline Says:

@ Katie: Jeff Goldblum too?? No way!

  101. It's Trent, Bitch! Says:

@Katie — the Goldblum story is a fake

  102. Mariah Says:

@ Katie – what?! I didn’t hear anything or see anything at all about Jeff Goldblum. Someone I know said McCauley Culkin died today, too. Neither are true, I’m sure.

  103. B Says:

I can’t find anything about Jeff Goldblum dying. I am going to need to see a link to believe that Katie.

I feel sorry for Farrah’s family that Farrah’s passing will be overshadowed by MJ’s.

God this is just SO devastating. I’m so sad. :(

  106. PixiesBassline Says:

Really though.. Like, the Ed and Farrah deaths didn’t really surprise me… but this does.. Don’t know why… He’s just been in my life more than they were. I was listening to the radio when I was a kid.. not watching Ed or Farrah.

  107. Katie Says:

Glad the Goldblum story is fake.
If only this one were too.

  108. Gaby Says:

I sadden by the news and I still do not wan to believe….RIP Micheal Jackson…prayers to your kids and family

OMG I am going to vomitt this is again the worst day ever!! I know he was alittle strange but I loved him this is just making me sick!!
Two of the greatest have departed its just the worst day I am in a state of shock!!!!

  111. B Says:

Farrah’s isn’t a surprise. We have known her health was declining. MJ’s is a shock because no one was expecting it. Makes me wonder if there were health issues we don’t know about that caused him to cancel those concerts. (Or maybe this was reported and I just didn’t see it.)

  112. Scarlet Says:

To all those accusers that have called him a paedophile – you really need to use your head and everything you know about people like that before making those accusations.
As someone who worked in a psychiatric hospital with REAL paedos, I can tell you that molesters will stop at nothing to molest a child and will do it to any and all kids at their availability.
Jackson was around thousands of children every day for years – and all you have is 2 victims claiming sexual abuse?
It never made sense and still doesn’t. If those accusations were really true, there would have been hundreds of kids coming out of the woodwork to get in line to accuse him and CLAIM THEIR MONEY.
The parents of the 2 accusing children sold their kids’ souls for the all-mighty dollar when they sued him – and that’s the truth of it. He was always around kids – yet only 2 people claim to have been abused.
Get real. It was always about the money with those people – they ruined a man’s life so they could reap the rewards of false accusations.
Yes, Michael Jackson led a bizarre and freakish life – however, he was no paedophile.

  113. Jess Says:

Peace out Michael. Say what you want about Michael Jackson, but you can’t deny he was an incredible entertainer.

Ed McMahon was an older man and was ill. Farrah was ill. So while sad, I was expecting them to pass. But MJ? I never expected that. It’s been a sad week in Hollywood.

  114. Rach Says:

What a sad day! Two icons! RIP MJ!
And I dont want to make it even more depressing, but im hearing Jeff Goldblum has died?! :S

  115. Rach Says:

Oh never mind about Goldblum just saw what Trent said to Katie!

  116. j. Says:

Why am I crying? So sad… I guess I didn’t think ild be effected this way. Wow. RIP… all I can think abouit is his children. I know he had financial troubles…I hope there’s enough left over for them. My thoughts are with the whole Jackson Family.

  117. mike Says:

OMG. Another shocking news..>Sharon Stone? In an accident? Critical condition? Is it true?

  118. Celi Says:

    OMG! RIP Michael.

  119. Madsme Says:

Oh my goodness. His poor family.

  120. ollie Says:

    i propose a parade!!

  121. James Says:

ಠ_ಠ *sigh* RIP Michael Jackson, your music will live on forever.

  122. Allie Says:

@ Hannah, OOPS! You’re wrong. I think O.J. murdered Nicole Brown & Ron Goldman. It’s written all over his face. His actions during & after the trial show the cold man he is. His children were/are majorly effed up because of it. I’m sure Michael Jackson’s kids will be just as messed up in the head, as well. I don’t think MJ sexually molested any child. I think he was majorly weird to the 100th degree, I don’t deny that. He was very childlike. His actions were that of a 10 year old boy. Creepy doesn’t ALWAYS make someone a child molester. All those young boys who used to hang around with (Macaulay Culkin, Corey Feldman, Wade Robson) said that he ever tried to do anything sexual with them. I think a lot of shit might be misconstrued on purpose for the sole fact of money. Someone (2005 case) saw an opportunity to sue a celebrity and seized it. His father, David Arvizo, visited Neverland several times in 2000, sometimes with the whole family, other times with just the children. According to witnesses the father has been persistent in begging celebrities for money for the family, and after receiving money, persistently asking for more. Just saying…. and the others according to wiki,
    * Jason Francia (born May 30, 1980) is the son of Jackson’s former maid Blanca Francia, who moved from El Salvador to the US in 1975. She worked for Jackson in the period 1986–1991 at the Jackson family home in Encino, Los Angeles, at Jackson’s Century City, Los Angeles apartment called “The Hideout,” and at Neverland. She often brought Jason along to her work. Jason was a friend of Jackson in the period 1987–1991, when he was 7–10 years old. Jason claimed Jackson touched his crotch twice over his shorts, and once touched his testicles from under his shorts, on each of these three occasions for a few minutes during a tickling game. On the first two occasions he received $100 each for not telling his mother. In 1996 Jackson paid the family $2,000,000 to settle the case. Blanca Francia also received $20,000 for a TV interview, which Jason claimed to have no knowledge of the amount. She testified too, in spite of the settlement. She did not see sexual activity, just an occasion where Jackson and Jason were lying together partly on, partly in a sleeping bag.
    * Jordan Chandler, who allegedly was molested by Jackson in 1993 has, according to his uncle Ray Chandler, left the country to avoid testifying. Former security guard Ralph Chacon says that at Neverland he saw Jackson putting Chandler’s penis in his mouth on one occasion, and touching Chandler’s crotch with his hand on another occasion. However, Chacon’s reliability is disputed, as he has had past conflicts with Jackson. Chacon’s testimony also contradicted Chandler’s affidavit, he claimed having seen Jackson molest Chandler in early 1993, while according to Chandler’s own testimony Jackson didn’t start abusing him until May 1993 in Monaco. Chandler’s mother has also testified and contradicted known facts about the case, claiming that she was the one to alert authorities about the relationship between Jackson and her son in September 1993, although authorities were alerted by Jordan’s father in August 1993. Former maid Adrian McManus says she once saw Jackson touch Chandler’s crotch over his clothes. Bob Jones, who worked for Jackson from 1987–2004 as PR-man and Stacy Brown has written the book “The Man Behind the Mask,” that which was published in May 2005.
    * Macaulay Culkin – Phillip LeMarque stated that he once saw Jackson with his hand resting on the pants of Culkin when the two were playing video games. Adrian McManus only saw that once Jackson kissed Culkin on his cheek, and had his hand “kind of by his leg, kind of on his rear end.” However, Culkin denounced the molestation allegations as “absolutely ridiculous” and said that nothing inappropriate had happened. Culkin testified that he slept in Jackson’s bed several times between the ages of 10 and 14, sometimes with other boys as well. He said the sleepovers weren’t planned and that he and others would just fall asleep when they were tired.
    * Wade Robson – He has confirmed that he has slept in the same bed with Jackson, but he denies that anything inappropriate has happened. Wade’s mother, Joy, admitted in cross-examination, that her son went missing for three days with Jackson, causing the police to get involved. But, like the sleepovers, she was confident this was all innocent and her son confirmed it.
    * Brett Barnes – Brett’s sister, Karlee, testified that Jackson slept in the same room as her brother for a year. During this period, the boy testified that Jackson did not act inappropriately. The witnesses included some of the “Neverland Five” (former security guards Ralph Chacon, Kassim Abdool, and Melanie Bagnall, former office manager Sandi Domz, and former maid Adrian McManus) who lost a lawsuit in 1995 against Jackson.

As part of the evidence to show attraction to boys, the prosecution introduced two books featuring nude prepubescent boys. The books were seized from Jackson in 1993 and never returned. The prosecution portrayed them as being child erotica or pornography, showing a sexual attraction to boys. However, the defense characterized them as wholly non-sexual, non-pornographic, art books. The defense pointed out that the books were legal to possess, and Jackson was therefore never charged with owning them. While both featured nudity, neither book contains any depictions of sexual acts. Jackson lost possession of the books long before meeting the current accuser, which is why the books were a part of the 1108 evidence. He has never been accused of showing these two books to any boys.

One book, “The Boy: A photographic Essay” features many pictures of nude boys, including some explicit pictures of genitalia. The pictures were of boys who took part in the 1963 film adaptation of the book Lord of the Flies. One book had an inscription saying it was from a fan. While the other book read this inscription :

“Look at the true spirit of happiness and joy in these boys’ faces. This is the spirit of boyhood, a life I never had and will always dream of. This is the life I want for my children.”

  123. Krissy Says:

So terribly sad. His life was so tragic. He was such a talented little boy…but I feel his father broke him in ways that affected him deeply. So sad.

And for those people ripping on Trent for using TMZ as a source, other “legitimate” news sources were citing TMZ. Harvey Levin (who owns TMZ) is a long time lawyer with many ins…he clearly has sources in the LA police department and the hospital system that he pays for sensitive information. Their site always gets the correct information first. TMZ isn’t noble by any means, but they do tend to be very accurate and factual when it comes to inside info into the LA court and hospital systems.

Sad. I was JUST listening to Black or White this morning on my way to work. “I’m not gonna spend my life being a color!” BRILLIANT. Anyway, I think its sad that the media is focusing so heavily on his legal troubles and bizarre lifestyle so early on. We all know he had issues (and half of us who are suddenly mourning his death probably mocked him and his weird nose less than a year ago) but at least let the family bury the poor man and then we can all engage in rabidly speculative character analysis next week.

  130. Kat Says:

@ Scarlet: I’m sure you also know children who are molested rarely speak up. Either way, It’s sad because he was a musical genius… his personal life we don’t know much of –except that he used to be black and handsome and liked masks. RIP.

  131. alexggb Says:

:( peace out Michael. You were and always will be the King of Pop just like Elvis is still the King of Rock. I, like many others, think he was really screwed up from living in the spot light and having such a crappy childhood and father, I think he suffered from the Peter Pan syndrome and I’m not quite sure he had any sort of sexual “inclination” sort to speak. I think he was more an asexual being. I don’t think he molested any of those kids though I do think it’s weird that their parents let them sleep over at Michael’s. It is all too weird.

  132. JJ Says:

@ Allie Ummm, I hope you copied & pasted that long *ss post b/c otherwise you have a little too much time on your hands.

This is very sad indeed. RIP MJ, you will be missed.

  133. sez Says:

I was just on twitter, and there were reports that Jeff Goldblum fell to his death in New Zealand.. so I checked the TV3 news website here in NZ and it’s reported as false.

I hope MJ is at peace and that there is someone on earth who is going to look out for the best interests of his children.

  134. Chas Says:

Michael Jackson is the greatest star of all time. He is the King Of Pop! His music and music videos are timeless. My son is 4 and his favorite song is “Beat It”. Michael Jacksons music will live on for generations to come. Doesn’t anyone remember the music videos? I spend hours trying to learn the Thriller dance. I remember being a little kid and watching the Billie Jean video. HE INVENTED THE MOONWALK PEOPLE! No matter what you think about his personal life, you can’t deny that NO ONE will ever be able to reach that level of STARdom. RIP Michael Jackson, My childhood would not have been the same without you.

  135. Trish Says:

This has got to be one of the worst days ever. I have no other words, just kind of feel sick to my stomach.

  136. Meghan Says:

Rest in peace, Michael. I always felt sorry for him. For all of his talent, his life was very sad.

  137. Katie Says:

    RIP Micael Jackson.
    Absolutely HEART broken :(

  138. Nicola Says:

Oh my gosh, this was extremely unexpected.. not to overshadow Farrah’s death (RIP) but this is a HUGE loss for the entire world.
I am really not looking forward to the heartless ones making jokes about this..
    RIP Michael Jackson <3

  139. Janelle Says:

I don’t know him or claim to know him, but Michael lived a very hard life. He grew up within a conflicting atmosphere for nearly all his life, which seemed to mess with mind. I absolutely do not believe he hurt any children, but did not know how to properly function or express his love for them. He lived a tragic life and I feel this is such a sad ending for him. He deserved something different. But he will always be the young boy with the voice of an angel to me.

  140. Tracy Says:

At least now his kids have a chance for a normal life. sorry but i was always concerned about the kids.

  141. jaimes Says:

wtf?! this is so surreal and totally unexpected!

i am in a state of shock right now. his face was freaky but he was a pop phenomenon. this a great loss to the world indeed

  142. Morgan Says:

@Trent, I don’t know if you’re still involved with The Camarilla at all (I know you said you played OWoD Masquerade), but the Cammies in LA are trying to arrange a massive Thriller performance on Hollywood Blvd tonight.

  143. velcrodots Says:

    this is truly sad :(
RIP Michael Jackson, the eternal King of Pop

  144. LemonFairy Says:

    awful awful news.

    May he rest in peace.

  145. Margie Says:

I just listened to Man in the Mirror and I lost it. This man;s music contributed so much to my childhood and here I am, at 32, and hurting because a living legend is no more. “Gonna make a change…”

  146. Kim Says:

The world lost two very special people on this earth today, but they will forever in our hearts and minds. Huge amounts of sympathy and prays go out to both Farrahs’ and Michaels’ familes.

  147. Lula Says:

    NessaInRainbows, I sure do hope that I am never in a COMMA. ;;;;;

  148. B Says:

Why is Trent so pissed at Entertainment Tonight? (Assuming I read that Twitter feed correctly). Did they bring up all of the allegations or something?

    @Lula–that made me giggle too

  149. Moves Says:

    @B:

I’m not 100% certain, but it might be because they released a photo of him while (presumably) dead on his way into the hospital.

  150. shannon Says:

@B “Entertainment Tonight” ran a paparazzi photo that no one should ever see. I accidentally stumbled upon it myself.

  151. Michael Jackson rules Says:

Why do people say passed away?????? Passed where? You mean he died.

  152. Erin Says:

I’m truly saddened by the tragic loss of one of the greatest artists of our time. Saddened and shocked.

  153. Felicity Says:

ET—-that is bullshit. i didn’t want to see that. ridiculous.

  154. mike Says:

Oh Lo…Such devastating news…Thank you Michael for the music…Your Legacy will live forever…

  155. Meagan Says:

No matter how many times I hear this, it’s just not sinking in. It’s so incredibly sad and surreal.

  156. B Says:

Thanks to Moves and Shannon–whoa, ET did that? Yikes, that is in poor taste.

  157. jadedsweetie Says:

for me its so tragic that the generation of kids growing up now only know the bad. he was human and he did what he could considering his circumstances. i think he wanted to make the world a better place for all. he will be so missed :(

  158. Grace Says:

Wow. Yeah it sucks that he died. We all have our favorite MJ song or album. We have the best of him left here. I did not see him making another Thriller. This just didn’t hit me as hard as when Heath Ledger died.

MJ reached his peak and now he’s gone. I don’t see anyone crying about starving Ethiopian children or what’s going on in the Middle East.

  159. Fashionista Says:

    FUCK YOU HATERS.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson. God bless you. You were a legend. An icon. We have truly lost the man. The King of Pop is with the King of Glory. Love you MJ.

  160. Ashley N. Says:

Splendid choice of picture Trent. It captures his glory days perfectly. RIP King of Pop

  161. Cass Says:

Such a tragedy, especially with the upcoming tour. It seemed as though things were looking up for him. Now only in this late hour do we really seek to understand the real Michael. Not the entertainer who brought, peace, love and hope in is inspirational music and live acts. Not the “alien” who he had become: a plastic surgery mangled, supposed child abuser. He was simply a man who had lived more lifetimes in his short years that so many of us can ever even hope for, Someone who only wanted love and acceptance. Someone who had to live for years with the shame of not meeting his parent’s expectations, becoming a shell of his former self after his fans turned on him because of false accusations and poor rhinoplasty. Someone who could no longer look at themself in the mirror because all they could see was a broken shell of their former self…My only wonder was if he’d killed himself because he could no longer being termed a freak, or pedophile, or if he’d planned this tour to attract attention so that he’d could be compared to Elvis (or Anna Nicole as I was told he’d made an allusion to). Either way I hope you have finally found the peace you have so readily sought, May the world’s love be with you, and may God have mercy on your (probably) innocent soul.

  162. Shaun Says:

RIP Michael. I used to have the MJ doll with the microphone stand. I played with that doll every damn day. As a toddler and little girl, I used to think MJ was a family member. His music was always in my house; his video’s were always on my TV.
Man, I loved Michael. I didnt truly know how much I loved him until today when I just couldnt stop crying. RIP!

    Why why?
Tell ‘em that it’s human nature
    -Michael Jackson, Human Nature

  163. Katie Says:

This is a truly a sad day. This man was an icon, a living legend. My best wishes go out to his family.

  164. ej Says:

Whoa…never been affected by celebrity deaths much, and honestly never really thought twice about Michael Jackson. Heard this morning and then, all of a sudden, Heal the World came on the radio and I just…felt weird. Like I wanted to cry.

  165. Mel. Says:

this has to be one of the worst weeks in Pop Culture and the world in general. :(

  166. Michelle Says:

My day went from being one of the funnest days to one of the saddest with just one text message. I was and still am absolutely stunned beyond belief. Say what you want about the man and his lifestyle choices but he was a living legend and an icon for our generation. I’ve been a fan since I can remember and Michael Jackson was one of my idols. I was truely shocked to the point where I thought my friend was playing a horrible joke on me. I cried, I’m not gonna lie!

This is the day the music died for the Generation Xers and beyond.

To the haters: Whatever, the true fans might have had their opinions, but never denied their loyalty to his music…

Oh and major shout outs to NYC radio, I was up in the city when I found out and almost immediately the NYC radio station began playing a Michael Jackson marathon of songs… you guys are awesome!

  167. Michelle Says:

    Hey Trent,

Still in shock! Here’s to MJ — this vigil at Motown is the least he deserves. Miss his kindness and spirit already!

  168. huan Says:

    omg ><

  169. Ter Says:

Some are struggling to verbalize why exactly we are so sad. John Mayer said it best: “A major strand of our cultural DNA has left us.” Michael Jackson has been a part of so many lives. The mere mention of his name can spark a smile and a nostalgic trip for members of 4 generations. That’s something special. May you rest in peace, Michael.

  170. Janet Says:

I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of his but his passing all of a sudden is shocking and sad. I some how knew he wouldn’t make it to his come back concerts in London next month. Anyways I hope now that his children will finally get to live a normal life not being covered up with masks when they go out in public and get to be just kids. God for bid I hope Janet Jackson get the kids so they can be raised normally.

  171. katmow Says:

shame, but one less pedo in the world.

  172. L Says:

@katmow…have some respect for the dead.

  173. Sarah Says:

My mom told me this afternoon that Farrah Fawcett died. And she has this creepy-keen sense of which celebrity is going to die next, and when Ed McMahon died, she said Farrah was next. And I was about to cry when she said that she passed away this morning. THEN we were sitting there in the living room and she all of a sudden went “OH MY GOD. Michael Jackson is in cardiac arrest!!” Then 5 minutes later he was dead. I don’t even want to believe that they died. But my mom always says they go in three’s. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson. Those are crazy bad loses to the entertainment industry.

  174. tasya Says:

Two American icons in one day. It’s unbelievable. I grew up in the 70s and 80s so this was a huge loss. I loved the Charlie’s Angels TV show and I listened to Thriller on the record player (do they still have those?!) when I was 9. I like the sentiment of John Mayer when he said not only are we in mourning for Michael Jackson but also for the children we used to be, listening to Thriller on the record player. I truly hope his spirit is at rest now.

  175. Meream Says:

This is a sad day. I like what John Mayer said, too.

  176. Ally Says:

On my way into work this morning the radio station was playing a tribute where they would mix MJ songs with those of modern artists. It was really awesome and a great tribute. RIP MJ.

  177. Trish Says:

I have to say that I woke up this morning knowing the reality, but so badly hoping it was a terrible dream. I can’t stop crying when I think about. I remember that my oldest brother used to moondance across our house and we were all such big fans. He changed the world with his music, style, and dance. I will forever miss him.

  178. LOL Says:

They dont know what to do with his body coz the plastic and recyclable rubbish doesnt go out till wednesday.

    Too soon?

  179. jazzyjess Says:

    @lol tasteless IMO

./bow to Michael Jackson. Peace brother, thank you for your music.

  180. Splacer Says:

Michael Jackson was my introduction to pop music when I was only about 9 years old. I am sad and nostalgic today.

I feel like a little bit of my childhood died with Michael.

I hope Michael finds peace in death that he couldn’t find in life.

  181. RIP MJ Says:

One of my friends has the great idea of us all getting up from our desk at work at 11:59 and do a moon walk in tribute/honor to Michael Jackson. I love it! I can picture people doing that in their offices across the nation.

  182. NessaInRainbows Says:

C’mon. It’s a fucking HUGE deal that he’s passed away. How can you not react?? The man IS a fucking LEGEND. He is a music Icon and to not stop and take a minute to realize how big a deal it is that he’s dead, baffles me. I grew up listening to Michael Jason. My best memories of my mother is watching her get ready for work while dancing and singing to Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T” (Pretty Young Thing). And I’m sure when we were all young we’ve all tried to do the moon walk and all thought we were just as good at it as Michael was.

Although he was accused of child molestation it doesn’t deny the fact that he was a music genius. I mean… how many MJ cover songs are there?? How many are even as good as the original?? Today is such a sad day for the entertainment industry

  183. Apples v 2 Says:

Gah, I still cannot believe he’s passed on. It almost feels… indescribably sad.

  184. Apples v 2 Says:

    http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/images/gallery/michael-jackson-plastic-surgery_479×307.jpg

    hmmm.

  185. ocgirl Says:

I never really am upset by celebrity deaths, but am saddened by MJ’s death. I’m still in such shock. He was and always will be a legend, and no other entertainer will ever touch him. I felt the same way that John Mayer said, that a part of our childhood has gone away with him. So sad.

  186. katmow Says:

    @ LOL, LMFAO!!!!!!
