Did I miss something about David Letterman’s joke?? I didn’t take the joke as Palin’s daughter getting raped? Did anyone else? Isn’t it time to stop talking about Sarah Palin now anyway?

Jess – I think b/c she’s 14 any joke about an adult man trying to have sex w/ her = a joke about an adult men attempting to commit statutory rape. But I think that Todd’s comment wasn’t the best way to approach the situation, b/c it gives ppl the exact reaction you had. I actually thought Sarah’s comment was good:
“acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone’s daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.”
But yes, it is time for everyone (including David Letterman) to stop talking about Sarah Palin.
Ok. Sarah’s comment was a much clearer statement. that But it’s time for all of the Palin’s to disappear from the media. Blech.
I’m sort of thinking that Sarah Palin needs to be made fun of as much as possible but her children can’t choose their mother and should be left alone until theyre old enough to become unwed mothers and appear on an MTV reality show.
That poor kid has enough trouble after all, her Momma is crazy and thinks she can squeeze in being President before the appocolypse. hehehe
Yeah, it isn’t cool to bring the kids into things like that. I think the Palin’s, in general, need to go away; they’re incredibly annoying. As for Sherri, she’s stupid and I can’t stand her.
The Palins need to “go away?” All they did was take a trip to New York City, which I believe is a freedom open to anyone – even, gasp!, conservatives.
It was that stupid old lech David Letterman who put them in the spotlight, by making gross sexual comments about a freaking 14 year old. He should be ashamed of himself, but given his penchant for young girls (marrying them even), I guess one can’t be surprised.
I’m just wondering if all the people scoffing at the Palins’ outrage over this would be equally blase if the comments would have been made about, say, the Obama girls. Somehow I think not.

The joke was about Eliot Spitzer, not the idiot’s daughter, but it’s still funny how they are trying to make a big deal out of it now just to get publicity.
i kinda thought letterman was just talking about bristol, not willow, as bristol is the one that’s in the news talking about not having sex before marriage. i didn’t take it to be anything gross. it made me laugh, actually, and i am still laughing about it. palin=the antichrist. just go away already.
