Gwen Stefani Does ‘Elle’ Magazine
Gwen Stefani, currently on tour with No Doubt after taking a few years away from the band, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Elle magazine. Here is Gwen’s Elle cover along with a few excerpts from her coverstory interview:
On being a mother: “It’s one thing when you have an infant, but when you have this two-or three-year-old going, ‘Mommy, what’s the deal?’ it’s harder. Kingston’s whole thing is, ‘I need, I need.’ He is insane right now. We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we’ll see.”
On celebrity: “Obviously, I’m not anything more than I am. I’m just, like, totally normal. The fact that any of this has happened, that we’re sitting here at the Beverly Hills Hotel just gets me going, like, What?”
On leaving No Doubt: “Everybody’s making it like there’s all this new tension, you know, like I stepped away from the band and now they’re jealous of me, and look, maybe there is a little bit of that.”
On how her priorities changed from band to family: “I wasn’t even married. Now I’m a wife and a mother of two. It’s a really different role. I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage, because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That’s a huge, huge thing.”
Gwen really does keep things pretty normal … she goes out with her family, she does her thing, she lives her life. She is one of those very famous celebs that never seems to court attention and, yet, she never shies away from it when she gets it. I think it’s been pretty cool watching her mature into the woman she’s become. I remember when I first heard about No Doubt all those years ago … and seeing her now as a wife and a mother of 2, it’s pretty damn awesome that she’s managed to stay pretty much the same down chick she’s always been. Gwen is one cool and totally awesome chick. She is a role model to young women in the business and I think many of them could learn a thing or two or ten from her.

Going to their show tonight. I’ve seen them every time they’ve rolled through town since I was 15 (I’m 29 now! yikes!) See them live you will not be disappointed!!!

OMG!!!! I love her. . . she is the reason that I dyed my hair blonde, rocked ruby red lipsick and bedazzled my bras in the 9th grade!!!!!
I just saw them in concert and she totally rocked the house!!!! I dont know what show you saw chase. . . but she and the band always delivers!!!!!
Her body is still SIC after 2 kids. . . I can only hope :)

Kingston is in “I need, I need” mode??? That’s b/cause he’s spoiled. She feels guilty when she’s not around so he gets what he wants when she is. She better sort that out or she will have a freak on her hands.

I love her simply for the fact that she is hardly photographed w/o her kids. She is always with them. If she has nannies, they are there to help, not raise them like other celebs do. Imo
