First Look: Michael Jackson All-Star Tribute Single, ‘Better On The Other Side’
Featuring The Game, Chris Brown, P. Diddy, Usher, Boys II Men and more

Just hours after news broke of the death of Michael Jackson last Thursday, a tribute song titled Better on the Other Side (featuring The Game, Chris Brown, Sean P. Diddy Combs et al.) was leaked to the Internets in honor of the late King of Pop. Today, we get our first look at the accompanying music video. Be Warned: some of the lyrics may be offensive to some viewers:

Only a day after Michael Jackson’s untimely death, a few artists have come together to record a tribute song in remembrance of the late, great pop star. When Los Angeles based DJ Skee told his good friend, The Game, about the passing of Michael, the rapper was shocked. But once it sunk in, he locked himself in the studio and came out with “Better On The Other Side.” “After I called Game and told him the news, he put this tribute together and produced this amazing record,” DJ Skee tweeted Friday morning (June 26). “Yesterday I told Game about MJ’s death and he didn’t believe it.” The new song, which leaked Friday (June 26), featuring Game spitting alongside Chris Brown, Diddy, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men, while DJ Khalil produced the track.

I have to say, for the song being put together so hasitly after MJ‘s death it’s not a bad song at all. I got to hear it last week but I think I like it better with a music video. The images of fans mourning MJ‘s death makes it feel more poignant. It’s a very nice tribute, wouldn’t you agree?

lol. why is game sitting in a bathtub full of water with all his clothes on? I guess it’s a nice tribute but another week of fine tuning wouldn’t have hurt …

    What was offensive? Nigga?

  4. HeatherLea_1340 says:

Of all the images of him to tattoo on your arm…? But, I guess he had his reasons. The song was great, I really enjoyed it. Especially the “Who’s Michael Jackson?….” part. Very touching.

  5. lyndyloo says:

well that was fucking depressing and not to mention selfindulgent, MJ deserves better than this dross.
I still can’t believe he’s gone, I must admit that I had forgotten a portion of my life which was all about Michael, I was a fan from the age of 12 till my late teens, he was the very first artist I was ever a fan of, I feel that a part of my youth has died with him, and only now am I realising this, after the dust settles, everyone who is in their late 20′s or early to mid thirties or even older, will start remembering what Michael really meant for us.
    Too sad. :(

Michael was my hero for years as a kid. I love him very much and I love the out pouring of support he deserves. The images of his fans are touching, some of the lyrics hit home overall not a bad tribute.

I can’t stand Diddy. This seems like another way to capitalize on another artist’s death…

  9. la princesa says:

For being done in a day, what can you expect? I like the fan reaction, and I like that Chris Brown was a part of it.
But every single time I hear Diddy, I just want him to shut the hell up!

  10. Lisa says:

Too much of Game and the bathtub. But I liked the song and all the fan stuff and pictures of MJ. Rest in peace.

  11. nicole says:

i liked it. but i couldnt believe how fast the song came out. it hit the internet the same night!

  12. Chivonne says:

eh its okay. not bad for being put together so fast but uhm really kind of cheesy

    idk

  13. mochakiss says:

It would have been better without Chris Brown’s Bitch Ass!

  14. tatiana says:

    Actually, the song isnt bad.

  15. KW says:

Eww Chris Brown? Hell no, I’m not watching/listening.

  16. PDM says:

Chris Brown?? NOT INTERESTED!!! Why won’t this guy go away and how has the public forgiven him so quickly for being a woman beater?? Uncool.

  17. xyala says:

Call me a crusty bitch, but I thought that was the most self indulgent piece of crap I have seen in a while. Not so much a tribute to MJ as it is a way to get media coverage. The man’s body isn’t even cold yet and people are already trying to profit. Not that I did not see it coming but it’s disgusting nonetheless.

Anyway, on another note, why the F is Chris Brown anywhere to be seen? He was in court not a little while ago and all he got was a slap on the wrist. So what? In Holywood if you beat up girlfriend you get to go back to your career intact and collaborate with big stars as if nothing ever happened. I am sorry but that is bullshit!

  18. Lauri says:

Not bad for it being written so fast….

Though, as others, the Chris Brown being in it thing? No!! He was found guilty of girl-beating eh? I know a LOT of guys who would not associate themselves with anyone even accused w/ the amount of proof (i.e. photographs of Rhianna) or less proof for that matter, I just lost respect (not that there was a large amount before….) for these men in doing a song with him, tribute to MJ or not.

  19. Lilliah says:

politics aside, i like it for a song written in a day. this doesn’t mean the game is “trying to profit”- obviously people are going to be moved to write tribute songs. everyone should just get together and have a pow-wow to figure out how much time needs to pass before it’s okay for Chris Brown to be seen and let him know.

  20. Jada says:

Wow I can’t believe how much love there is out there for Michael…what a special man.

The song is alright, I love The Game. :) Can’t stand Chris Brown/P Diddy though lol.
