Very sad news today … Farrah Fawcett, our beloved Charlie’s Angel, lost her battle with cancer today and sadly passed away just a short while ago. As some of you may be aware, Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer three years ago and really took a turn for the worse in the last few months after the disease spread to her liver. It is my sad duty to pass along the report that Farrah has died at the age of 62:

Farrah Fawcett, whose stunning looks and blinding smile made her a pop icon of the 1970s, has died. She was 62. Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, says Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica hospital. Her 2 1/2-year battle with cancer was depicted in the TV documentary “Farrah’s Story.” She burst on the scene in 1976 as one-third of the crime-fighting trio in TV’s “Charlie’s Angeles.” A poster of her in a clingy swimsuit sold in the millions. She left the show after one season but had a flop on the big screen with “Somebody Killed Her Husband.” She turned to more serious roles in the 1980s and 1990s, winning praise playing an abused wife in “The Burning Bed.”
I understand that Farrah passed away at 9:28AM PT earlier today in the ICU ward at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Ryan O’Neal was at her bedside. This is such sad news … expected but so very sad. I absolutely remember Farrah from her stint on the hit 70′s/80′s TV series Charlie’s Angels but was most touched by her stunning performance in The Burning Bed. I was very young when I saw that movie about spousal abuse and it had a profound effect on me. It is always sad when someone passes away but to lose someone as pop culturally iconic as Farrah Fawcett seems especially tragic. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family … she will be sorely missed.

So damn sad. She was such a classy lady. Many prayers to her family.
R.I.P.
RIP Farrah, you will be remembered as one of the most beautiful women in the world. I hope Ryan and Redmond get all of the love and support they need for such a tragic loss. Also, how beautiful of Ryan to ask her just one more time to marry him before her death. And she finally sad YES!!! Yes it may be sad they never got to marry, but they were so very happy during their many years together and a couple to look up to, especially in Hollywood
That’s so horrible. RIP <3
ironic that she died on the night that 20/20 is doing a special on her. such sad news, but she is in a better place.
I was a very impressionable teenager when Charlie’s Angels came out in the 70′s. And like a lot of girls raced out and got my hair cut like hers. lol
I loved her in the mini series “Poor Little Rich Girl” about Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth’s heiress.
An Angel with the true Angels now…
Sad story, but I will take 62. That’s a long life in my family.
I loved Charlie’s Angels and got a skateboard because there was an episode where Farrah was on one. She was an icon. RIP.
Rest in peace, Farrah.
How dare you write “Peace out Farrah Fawcett” on that photo. I understand that you have respect for her as you wrote in pink underneath the photo, but your comment completely contradicts your statement. Saying “PEACE OUT” appears as if you are saying “SEE YAH LATER” which is so rude to be saying to someone that is dead. And I realize that your readers understand that you are not being crude, but to the new reader visiting your website it appears very juvenile and inappropriate. Rest in Peace would have been a more suitable choice. Watch your captions… unbelievable.
This is such sad news. 62 is so young! And she was such a vibrant and beautiful person (inside and out). I agree with the other readers who wish that Ryan and Farrah had been able to get married before she passed… but real love is timeless whether you are married or not.
@Giancarlo. Calm down. I thought Trent showed utmost respect as always. This is his website and he has always done this in the three years I have been following him. If you don’t like it, don’t visit this site.
I hope someday we’ll find a cure for cancer. It takes too many lives way too soon. When I heard the news, I thought that at least Farrah is now at peace and out of pain. I hope her family might find some measure of comfort in that thought during this painful time.
This is the saddest news of my life this far!! I cannot stop crying I loved her so much growing up. I watched her 2hr special and it really broke me heart I kept praying she would pull through this!! She was truly an icon!! I meant her once she was a great lady!! R.I.P. I also hope her son will turn his life around!!
I also add my sincere condolences to her family & friends over such sad news. She will be missed.
I can not stop crying. Not many Hollywood type’s do this to me. She will truely be missed. Rest in peace Farrah.
My mother had stage 4 breast cancer that spread to her liver…she also had liver biosys like Farrah…it was private and we didn’t go in with her…to see what Farrah and my mother went thru…it made me very upset and I thought Farrah would pull thru like my mother…bless her soul…as for wishing marriage with Ryan…they loved each other unconditionally…they didn’t need a piece of paper to prove it…you could tell everytime he looked @ her…excellent piece Trent…like always…my heart breaks for this family as well as MJs…:(
