Alas … my time here in Detroit Rock City has come to an end. It seems like David’s and my week here flew by in an instant … but we did have a great time. The trip had its highs (namely Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals at the Joe Louis Arena last Saturday and our day with Nine Inch Nails at Pine Knob last Sunday) and some lows (namely Games 3 and 4 of the aforementioned Stanley Cup Finals) but this trip was pretty spectacular. Here are a few pics from our small gathering of friends who came over to Sarah and Mark’s place last night to hang out on our last day in town:
Last night was really fun … it was great seeing everyone who came out (Tracey, Zakiya, Reggie, Tara, Agnes, Angi, Ben, Jeff, Mike G and Roger) and I will miss you all — ’til I get my ass back to Detroit in August for Tori Amos ;) While I’m very bummed that the Detroit Red Wings lost last night, I’m confident the Red Army just wants to make sure they win the Stanley Cup here in Detroit!! Go Wings!!
And so … our trip is pretty much dunzo. We finish work this afternoon, grab some food and then hit the friendly skies. I hear it’s been rainy and cold in LA this week, so glad that Michigan graced us with some damn beautiful weather. I love you Detroit, see you again real soon!!

I was at Mellon last night on the lawn, there were supposedly 10,000 people there and I was in the fifth row; one of the most amazing experiences of my life. There were two Detroit fans right up by the Tron, giving everyone a hard time and then halfway through the first period they were m.i.a. they held their own though. I even got to see the Detroit bus after the game, as it sped past everyone.
Princess Z is so damn cute. I love her hair!!! Have a nice flight!!!

Don’t worry about the Wings Trent, it’s tough when the opposing team scores on a clear offsides. The Red Wings will keep the cup in Detroit. They are the better team and they deserve it!
