Dakota Fanning Is No Plain Jane
Here are a couple photos of Dakota Fanning in full make-up and costume as the vampire Jane of the Volturi on the Italian set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon which is currently in production. As you can see, Dakota’s Jane likes kickin’ her dress old skool:
Okay … so Jane doesn’t look all that scary in these photos as she sounds from reading the book … but I’m sure Dakota will do her best to put her best fangs forward. And before any of y’all rabid Twilighters start yellin’, I know that Twilight vampires don’t have any fangs … it was just a figure of speech. I gotta say … none of the photos that I have seen from the Italian set of the film look all that eerie or scary. Except for the shirtless pics of Robert Pattinson, I’ve yet to see any pics from Italy that have that New Moon feel to them. I guess we’ll have to wait to see what the final product looks like but … yeah, I’ve not been wowed thus far.

Hm but sometimes pictures, don’t exactly give the scary effect. I’m sure when they do those ‘dark’ scenes it will have a more ‘horror’ effect.
Maybe..but either way I’m still excited that she is in this film ^^

Grrr. I have no love for the Twilight series, but they’ve brought in Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen ( two of my favorite actors) and have Chris Weitz directing.

Its a bit hard to be wowed from pics of people in regular clothing though isn’t it? And thats basically how it is with Twilight, with the exception of maybe Jane. In general I feel like there hasn’t been many actual set pics, and instead lots of the cast hanging around where they’re shooting. I’m also trying to keep as much of it a surprise as possible. The makeup looks like it could be scary once you make the lighting dark and throw in Dakota doing her evil glare. guess we’ll see. I just pictured Jane a lil shorter though.

Well Jane is in the light in this picture which vampires don’t do so we don’t know how the make-up will look in the dark caves. Personally ‘New Moon’ is all about Jacob Black and I couldn’t be more turned on, err, happy about those pics.

Once they edit it, with all the filters and such, it’ll look good. I’m not worried.

@ Jenny – Exactly! They’re going to do a lot of editing, I’m sure. I think it wouldn’t be fair to judge from paparazzi/candid pics because they’re pretty much separate from the overall film even though it does give us somewhat of an indication of things will look like. I’m sure it’ll be amazing!

I can’t believe that her in this movie is turning into the big deal that it is. When I heard she’d been cast as Jane, I was like, “who the heck was that?” and I had just read the book. She has one scene, good for her.

Jane has really short hair in the book- and is younger. Eh, Dakota doesn’t bug me- I think she’ll do a good job.

I agree I’ve seen the pics up on various sites around the internet and so far I don’t get that creepy feeling I had about Volturra when I read the book. Although most of the pics I’ve seen so far were from I’m assuming the scene where Bella crashes into Edward in the attempt to push him out of the sun, so really I haven’t seen any other Volturi pics as of late. I really hope they leave that part of the book intact. IMHO it’s one of the key moments in the Saga because we now know that not only are the Volturi eventually going to come visit to check on whether Bella is a vampire but we know they want Edward and Alice… so for those who haven’t read the books this is something they should probably know about the overall plot… besides it’s all Bella and Edward and LORD KNOWS I am NOT looking forward to the whole Jacob/Bella bonding thing!! TEAM EDWARD FO EVA!!! LOL

Oh also when she said “cloaks” in the book I was assuming some sort of long dark robe with a hood of some sort (like the white lighter robes from Charmed or even something like the Vulcans rock in Star Trek) not that Gawd awful fugly looking thing they put Dakota Fanning in… really I know these vamps are freaking ancient but you would assume they’ve at least updated their wardrobe a century or two!

The reason you see ringlets in her hair in from when Kirsten Dunst played that little vampire in the Tom Cruise move – Interview with the Vampire maybe? That’s why you think she should have ringlets – it would have been a good touch.
