Britney Spears Announces Australian Tour Dates
Britney Spears has announced that she will be taking her concert tour The Circus starring Britney Spears down under later in the year, well after she completes the European leg of the tour (which is currently in the UK). For the first time ever, the legendary Britney Spears will bring a concert tour to OZ. Here is the full text of the press release along with the just-announced set of tour dates:

For the first time in her career Britney Spears will be touring Australia. Britney Spears in association with Dainty Consolidated Entertainment brings “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” Down Under in November. “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” is a first of it’s kind, incorporating a dazzling display of music, dance, magic and theatrics into the years biggest spectacle. With its cast of nearly 50 dancers, magicians, clowns and acrobats and a traveling staff of over 200, the 50 million dollar extravaganza will travel Australia with an unprecedented 60 tons of equipment in 34 trucks for what is sure to be the most electrifying musical event ever. “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” kicked-off in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA on March 3, 2009, and is the highest grossing tour of 2009 in North America to date. I’m actually very surprised that this will be the first time that our dear Britney has toured Australia. I’m sure the Aussies are very excited that she is finally heading their way. It is turning out to be a very big touring year for Britney … I suspect that she will be doing a bit more touring between now and November. I’m sure that the plan is to get in as much touring as possible while she is on a hot streak (not to mention to refill her coffers … I have no doubt that all of this touring is making her a lot of money). Make your plans now, Aussies. Britney Spears is bringing her Circus your way.

It totally makes sense. The tour itself is 50 million dollars not to mention paying all of her staff… jeez. The tour made 61 million dollars in her 32 shows in North America. I heard she’s doing a South America tour starting in August/September so who knows. Britney and her team need that $$$ and I feel bad. I wouldn’t say it’s her best tour ever (I’ve only been in on Britney concert but I saw DWADT and the dancing and everything was amazing).

Chase…you’re forgetting that the 2 HUGE tour sponsors are playing those 50 million bucks in exchange for promo on the tour….Candies, Virgin & AEG are paying for the bill…that 61 million is nearly all profit….and I disagree with you…IMO this is her best tour ever…
