@Janet — Bret missed his mark, it was an accident. I understand your anger about some of the comments now, all these months later that he is in serious danger but getting riled up over comments made almost a year later seems counterproductive to wishing him well now.

I realize this is “old” news by now, but I still find the lack of empathy and stupidity of people amazaing. I stumbled on this today and could not let it go. Fast foward to Apr. 2010 – now Bret is fighting for his life with a brain bleed. I’m not saying this caued it – that can’t be said… but it’s not out of the question either. What can be said, however, is getting knocked out by a piece of stage equipment is stupid, needless and irresponsible. The Tony’s handled this debacle horribly and at Bret’s expense– that’s what we call adding insult to injury. Do you really think that someone that makes his living on stage, with pyro-technics, tons of equipment, etc would be that stupid? Or is it just possible that someone forgot to tell him that a huge piece of equipment would descend on his head. Bret took the high road – he didn’t sue, he only wanted the public to understand the extent of his injuries and his side of the story. To me, that is a professional. The rest of you idiots – if this happened to you or your loved one – you would probably sue — and win. Everyone that thinks is funny needs their heads examined. Everyone of us is just one blow to the head away from permanent brain injury. Hilarious, right?

I didn’t know that Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty’s nephew Justin) was friends with Bret Michaels–very nice, though strange, of him to visit Michaels in his dressing room after the incident.

replaying on TIVO, he clearly was milking applause and was far too late in leaving the stage. You really can’t believe that on an opening number as tight as the Tony’s that everyone wasn’t instructed on precisely when to enter and exit. This lipsyncing hasbeen clearly wasn’t paying attention.

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I missed some of the details, but I don’t think he said anything so wrong. He was hurt, plain and simple. Maybe he is just a big old douche; but he did deserve a little more than a statement of “He’s fine” and “He missed his mark” since he was hurt in some way and it’s really not funny. Unless it’s a big old cock slapping me across the face, if such a hugh thing hit me like that, I would ne none too pleased. It’s not that I’m a fan of his because I couldn’t tell you the title of any songs he’s ever sung nor do I even remember what he sang that night; but I don’t think he approached the Tony organization to perform. They undoubtedly approached him and IMHO he was entitled to being treated accordingly.

Now, his bastardization of English is another matter altogether.

well he didn’t sing live, that was obvious. I know that this was probably explained to him before hand. he’s not used to working big scale professional shows anymore, so he messed up. Hilaroius.

I find it hard to believe that the Tonys, an award show that centers around Broadway acts, would not be more precise in their performing. Broadway acts do this all the time. They have to hit their marks, etc. and for them to not do it at the Tonys? Please, Bret. I find it hard to believe. You broke your nose. Get over it, we did!
