Amy Winehouse Sucks Her Thumb With Kids Her Own Age
Amy Winehouse, who has practically become an unofficial citizen of the Caribbean isle of St. Lucia in recent months, was spotted chillin’ with a group of young girls who seem to have welcomed her into their fold. Amy was photographed sucking on her thumb as she fraternized with the kiddies … which would imply that she is pretty much on their same maturity level. Tho, it should be noted that the little baby girl in the pic isn’t even sucking her thumb so mebbe Amy is a wee bit mature than even the little girl is … behold:
Amy Winehouse enjoyed cuddles from local children on at St Lucia beach today. The friendly displays seem to confirm why the singer is so besotted with life on the island. The Back to Black star has been living there since visiting on holiday last December. She is a regular presence on the beach and in the island bars and restaurants and seems to have made friends for life if these pictures are anything to go by. The 25-year-old appeared childlike as she sucked on her thumb and later broke away from the embrace to take a phone call. According to Amy’s record label Island, she is currently working on her third album although there is no word yet on any release dates. She was due to fly back to Britain to perform at the label’s 50th birthday celebrations but cancelled at the last minute. Her most recent gig was at a jazz festival in St Lucia, which was abandoned due to bad weather. The singer is reported to have sworn at the crowd after they booed her shambolic performance. Sources say Amy is considering adopting a St Lucian child. Her decision comes after her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil made a woman pregnant at a drug rehabilitation clinic.
OY! Amy’s life is still a bit of a mess but as erratic as she still seems to be, she sounds heaps better off staying in St. Lucia. Perhaps these young girls will be a good influence on Amy and help her straighten out her life (tho, I do hope that Amy is not adversely influencing the girls with her questionable behavior). While I think the idea of Amy Winehouse adopting a child is the Worst.Idea.Ever., I do think that spending time with these kids might be good for her. Clearly the thumb-sucking is an indication that Amy is not at the maturity level required of a parent but mebbe one day … far, far into the future.

This is kind of an awkward situation to be in for the little girls seeing a grown woman suck her thumb in public.

why is it any different to nail biting? Why is it awkward for the children? Are you sure that yours is the mind with which a child must think?
