Adam Lambert Signs A Record Contract
His debut album is expected this Fall

Earlier today we got to see Adam Lambert on the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine (wherein he answers the question everyone has been dying know … but prolly already knew the answer to) and now we learn that the American Idol runner-up has signed a recording contract with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings and is planning to release his debut album in the Fall:

American Idol’s runner-up is one step closer to becoming a glam-rock superstar. Adam Lambert has inked deals with 19 Entertainment and RCA Recordings — and will be working on a debut album that is expected in the fall. “I’m thrilled that we’ve come to a creative and collaborative partnership and look forward to developing a really exciting album,” Lambert, 27, said in a statement. “We are 100 percent on the same page and are all anxiously awaiting the start of the recordings. It’s going to be ridiculous! Get Ready!!!” Simon Fuller, the creator and executive producer of American Idol, sung Lambert’s praises in the statement: “To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event … I am thrilled that American Idol was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow.” Lambert will record his album this summer while on the road with the other top 10 contestants for the Idols Live Tour, which kicks off July 5 in Portland, Ore.

It should also be noted that AI winner Kris Allen has also signed a record deal but with 19 Entertainment and Jive Records … but, honestly, all everyone seems to want to talk about is the Glambert. While I’m not necessarily a fan of his singing style (not that I’ve heard much of it), I am very curious to hear what his album will sound like. Will it be a balls out glam record or will he offer something more radio-friendly. I’m also curious to see who (if anyone) will be guesting on the disc with him. Might there be a Queen collabo on the disc? Now that American Idol is over, it looks like it is finally time for Adam to shine on his own … I guess we’ll soon find out if he will sink or swim.

am i the only one whos kinda over him already? not that i followed him on AI or anything, but really..theres only so much you can hear about him.

I don’t think we should hold the hype against him. He is being used by the AI machine and they are determined to get as much mileage out of him as possible. I personlly LOVE his voice and can’t wait to hear the album. He is such a gracious man and comes across well in every interview.

  3. Ford says:

HEY TRENT! third sentence…. Singing style***** not Signing style..i believe thats what you were going for…

  4. Christy says:

There’s a reason he lost the dude cannot sing very well at all.I wish Gene Simmons and the rest of KISS would have kicked his ass off of stage when he started butchering their music.

  5. Lana says:

He is HUMAN ART!!!! Cannot wait for the new album, his voice is epic.

    Kris who? :]]

Awww…I’m all for team Adam AND team Kris. This was the first AI I watched in years and I found it so refreshing that the show ended up with two talented musicians. It seemed to be more about the creative process and arrangements of the songs, then the same old tired Idol formula. I think the top two will do well with their fan base.
So what if they’ve signed their lives away to the Idol Gods? Everyone needs a start somewhere.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going back to stare at the new cover of the Rolling Stone. Hot!

@ Christy – You couldn’t be anymore wrong than you are. So many things factored into the vote and I don’t really believe any of it was for talent. I mean, the whole shady business with AT&T, people didn’t vote for Adam as much as Kris because they thought Adam would’ve won by a large margin; since those people didn’t vote it turned out in Kris’ favor. Plus, in the last few weeks people were catching on that Adam is gay or had speculation about his sexuality… I’m not pulling any cards here but I would hardly call the reason “Kris Allen won because he was more talented” win scenario. I get that he won, congrats. I don’t think he’ll have much of a career, though. Adam has the “IT” factor. I’m interested.

  8. CHASE says:

@ Christy – I will agree with you on the extent of his singing voice. I thought it got annoying when he screamed a lot too. But, if you saw his other performances when he didn’t scream, he was good.

  9. Dana says:

He really doesn’t sing, he screams! This is probably why I didn’t like him.

  10. Blair says:

Im that excited about Adams future album its sad!!!

  11. M W T says:

I’m excited for Adam. Adam is definitely an entertainer, and his music ability will take him far. I think he’s going to be around for the long haul. AI will definitely have to bring it for next year’s contestants. This was a very strong year.

  12. Johhny says:

It’s really funny how a couple of weeks ago, while you were dissing on Clay Aiken, you liked Lambert and now all of the sudden you don’t.

  13. Sara says:

He’ll do great! Haters notwithstanding… everyone can have their opinion. But he really is talented, and since his sexuality in no way effects the way his voice sounds people just need to chill the eff out! He can be as flamboyantly gay as he wants and that will just continue to contribute to his image… but won’t ever affect the way his wonderful voice sounds in any way shape or form, so all the people who are so freaked out by it should chill. I hate that we still have so far to go…

  14. Lizzie says:

I cannot wait for the record (: He’s got a stellar voice!!
I loved his take on Feeling Good.. absolutely amazing.

  15. gokarm says:

I hope hope HOPE his record is haunting and beautiful. He knows how to record vs. perform, if anyone took the time to listen to his itunes stuff. It’s like two different singers. He’s got finesse. But I do NOT trust producers. Tasteless hacks, the lot of them. And I find Adam rolls with the punches a bit more than I like. Man up, brothah!

  16. jennie says:

I think he will do well. very interested in how his album will sound.

  17. eileen says:

anybody that thinks he can’t sing must be listening to miley cyrus. please don’t insult my intelligence. hope he does great and look forward to hearing his new album.
