A ‘Hell’ Of A Good Time

Last night David and I finally got around to seeing the horror movie that everyone is raving about … Drag Me to Hell. I absolutely remember the first time I saw a trailer for the film and I thought that it looked horribly stupid. But after the movie came out, the reviews were very favorable and friends of my swore that it was worth seeing. I had my doubts but … well, we decided to give it a try:


All in all … it’s a damn fun movie. Yes there are some horribly cheesy moments (an anvil, WTF?) but more than enough scary, jump-out-of-your-seat moments to frighten and entertain. The gross bodily fluids that get splashed around in this film are just … gross … but fun. It’s prolly not the movie for everyone and I wouldn’t classify it as a true horror film (of the petrifying variety) but it’s scary enough to unsettle you and cheesy enough to make you laugh. It’s a good time, I approve!

Tonight … oh man … is Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Detroit Red Wings take on the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2009 Stanley Cup at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit Rock City:


I’m a nervous wreck … but I will be cheering on my Red Wings to victory tonight! I really can’t focus on much else, let me tell you … I really am a mess. All I can say is … GO WINGS!!

    The movie was scary and funny and cheesy. Pretty much just what you said, lol.
    The whole “I’m gonna get some!” line was way too cheesy for me though, I couldn’t believe it was actually said.
    I liked the movie too.

    Wohoo can’t wait to see that cup in person when Sid brings it home! That makes two Cole Harbour boys to bring the cup we must be doing something right!

    WAY TO GO, PENS!!

    Hey, I’m elated the Pens won, they played great, I’m originally from Pittsburgh, but no need to hate on the Red Wings, they’re a great team, and they played a great series. Detroit fans should be proud, their team has been the best over the last several years and have won many Stanley Cups. And they almost won this one too — not quite, but almost! So congrats to both teams and their fans, they’ve had a great season and a great few years…and they’ll probably both be back next year and many years to come. Making it to the Stanley Cup finals is the cream of the crop in itself so they’re both winners. But LET’S GO PENS! Woo-hoo!!! I heart Sid!
