Monday, June 29th, 2009

Paris Hilton has posted a new photo on her official Twitter account professing her love for a “cute” replacement for her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt. Here is Paris with her mate along with the full text of her accompanying tweet:

Paris tweets: Camels are so Cute!

Oh yeah, this is quite an upgrade for good ol’ Doug. I can’t say that the deal looks like a good one for the camel but … ah well.

Paris has also been spending time with some other animal friends:

Paris tweets: BFF’S ;) Dolphins rock! So sweet and intelligent

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if she went from the dolphin tank to the sushi bar. Ah … that’s our Paris.

Kevin Federline Moves Into A New Home

House Party
Monday, June 29th, 2009

Kevin Federline, who is making a lot of money these days by letting his ex-wife spend time with their children, has moved into a new home to share with his kids 50% of the time. Mind you, his children with Shar Jackson do not live with him … only the Spederline children do. Therefore, K-Fed felt he needed to spend some of his “hard-earned” money on a new domicile … behold:

As you can see, the Spederline children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, can be seen playing with friends in an over-sized inflatable swimming pool in their new backyard … after all, The Federline kinda has to spend some of his bank on his kids right? I wonder how much he spends on his children with Shar Jackson. HMMM. In any event, it looks like life is pretty good for Mr. Federline … wouldn’t you agree?

‘90210’ Announces Its Newest Castmember

Meet Trevor Donovan
Monday, June 29th, 2009

Last March we learned that producers of The CW series 90210 felt that Dustin Milligan, who played Ethan Ward on the show, wasn’t exciting enough to keep on the show and earlier this month we got official confirmation that the Ethan character is out … and a new character named Teddy is in. Today, we learn that former Abercrombie & Fitch model and Days of our Lives actor Trevor Donovan has been cast in the role of Teddy. What say we meet this newly cast lad, shall we?

No disrespect to Dustin Milligan, but, um, er… Ethan who? 90210 has tapped Abercrombie & Fitch model-turned-soap star Trevor Donovan to fill the show’s “golden boy” vacancy, sources confirm to me exclusively. The genetically blessed Donovan, who channeled Days of Our Lives bad boy Jeremy Horton for four months in 2007, will play Teddy, West Beverly’s own version of JFK Jr. Gorgeous, smart, athletic, charming, and naturally confident, Teddy has the unique ability to make any girl feel like she’s the most beautiful person in the room. And any guy like he’s a cross between Shrek and Jiminy Glick. Donovan, whose 90210 gig is described as heavily recurring, will debut early on in the show’s upcoming second season.

Um … yeah. I liked Dustin Milligan too but I think I could come to like Trevor Donovan a lot more. As the article mentions, Trevor used to be an A&F model and you know what that means :) After the jump, check out a few NSFW photos of Trevor Donovan modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch while wearing no Abercrombie & Fitch clothing at all …

The 2009 NYC Pride Parade

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the birth of the gay rights movement
Monday, June 29th, 2009

June is Gay Pride Month and all month long cities around the world have been throwing Pride celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riot which gave birth to the Gay Rights Movement in this country. NYC hosted their Pride Parade this weekend and, by all accounts, really threw a great party. Here are some photos from this weekend’s Pride Parade in New York City:

Decades after a riot at a Greenwich Village bar sparked a movement for equal rights, gay New Yorkers celebrated their gains at Sunday’s gay pride parade and lamented the state has not legalized same-sex marriage. The annual march down Fifth Avenue commemorated the Stonewall rebellion of 40 years ago, when patrons at a gay bar resisted the police. The several days of disturbances that followed the uprising became one of the defining moments of the gay rights movement. The celebration was tempered by the knowledge that other states, including Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa, have legalized same-sex marriage before New York. “Hopes and dreams and expectations have been raised, and there is nothing worse than to for people to have their hopes die out, to have the rug pulled out from under them,” said City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, New York City’s most prominent openly gay elected official. Gov. David Paterson said he remains hopeful that the state Senate will pass a same-sex marriage bill — if it can resolve the partisan stalemate that has paralyzed it. “If we have an end to the stalemate in Albany I would think that it would be passed shortly after,” he said, referring to the state capital. “We believe we can pass the bill.” This year’s march featured the usual mix of seasoned activists, dazzling drag performers and floats blasting disco beats. A faux Liza Minnelli in a slinky dress and spiky wig lip-synched New York, New York atop the Stonewall Inn float. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center’s float was sponsored by the Broadway musical Shrek, whose ogres-need-love-too message was apparently a good fit. Flavia Rando marched with the Gay Liberation Front, which began in 1969 after the Stonewall uprising. “It feels like we changed the world,” Rando said. “We started a global movement.” In addition to Paterson, one of the parade’s grand marshals, elected officials marching included Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Sen. Charles Schumer. Parade organizers claimed as many as 500,000 participants. That number was difficult to verify, but many thousands marched or lined Fifth Avenue to watch. Spectator Mark Jester of Maryland, visiting New York for the first time, said the parade was “awesome,” especially the drag queens. “I have a lot of respect, because if I would do that at home I literally would have to fight,” he said. Danielle Staub of the Bravo reality show The Real Housewives Of New Jersey marched in heels that rivaled a drag queen’s and said gay people deserve the right to marry. “My two marriages didn’t last as long as most of the gay community’s partnerships,” she noted. As part of the year-long celebration of the 400th anniversary of the Dutch encounter with New York, Amsterdam officials held a contest for couples to marry in that city, where same-sex marriage has been legal since 2001. The winners, five couples with one Dutch partner and one American partner, will travel to Amsterdam for its August gay pride celebration and get married there. “We kept saying we were going to do it here once it was legal in New York state,” said contest winner Stephan Hengst, who was born in the Netherlands and now lives in Highland, New York, with his partner Patrick Decker. “We hope to see it become legal in New York very soon.”

We really have come a long way, baby. Altho there is still a long way to go for members of the GLBT community to enjoy equal rights in all areas (including marriage) in this country, there is MUCH to celebrate and be PROUD of this year. 4 States have legalized same-sex marriage in this country this year alone and we’re only halfway thru 2009. They join Massachusetts and Connecticut who legalized the practice previously. The tide of true freedom for all is coming our way … I’d say that’s a great reason to celebrate.

‘Gossip Girl’ Begins Production On Season 3

The 'Gossip' gang gets back to work
Monday, June 29th, 2009

Here are a few pics from the NYC set of Gossip Girl which went into filming production of its third season earlier today. Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Blake Lively and Chace Crawford were all spotted in Gramercy Park today gettin’ back to work on their hit CW TV series … behold:

Leighton, who we saw earlier today in the new Cobra Starship music video Good Girls Go Bad, is lookin’ very fresh-faced in these photos. It really looks like the memory of her leaked sex tape is but a thing of the past. Ed, who celebrated his birthday with girlfriend and GG co-star Jessica Szohr over the weekend, was lookin’ mighty smart in his snazzy suspenders. Blake Lively was lookin’ a hot mess but, in her defense, it looks like she had yet to hit the make-up trailer. Chace Crawford looks his usual perfection. Ah … it’s good to see the GG kids back in action. While some of us will be enjoying a Summer vacay, these folks are just getting back to work. I’m sure we’ll be seeing much more from the set of Gossip Girl in the weeks and months to come.

The 2nd Annual Friendiversary

The TV Guide
Monday, June 29th, 2009

This weekend my really good friends, Kirsten & Darion, and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary as friends and we decided to make our weekly Sunday night hang out session a celebration of our friendship. We met up for dinner together at Baby Blues BBQ for some amazing grub …

… before making our way to the Lemmle Theater to see a Norwegian film called DØD SNØ or Dead Snow in English. I had heard about this comedy/horror film that features a group of young folks being terrorized by Nazi zombies and I knew it was a movie that we had to see together:

People, the movie is absolutely brills. It’s very much a modern take on Evil Dead (which even gets a shout-out in the film) but set in the snowcapped mountains rather than the Michigan wilderness. The movie is cheesy, funny and a bit scary. It’s all kinds of ridiculous and I cannot endorse the film more! See it … you will love it! Except for the questionable scene in the outhouse (if you see the flick, you’ll know what I mean), I loved every single second of this movie. Head over to DeadSnow.com to check out the trailer … trust me, you will love.

The rest of the night was pretty chill, David and I watched True Blood (yes, it was a bloody night for us) and then called it a night. No plans for today just yet but … I think I might hear the pool calling my name … HMMMMM.
