A tribute like this should come as no surprise considering the massive impact that Michael Jackson has had on the world. This will be but the first of many, many tributes to the late King of Pop. This weekend, the BET Awards will pay special tribute to his memory … as I’m sure many other awards shows will in due time. Michael Jackson’s death will resonate with people for a long time to come.

Pilgrimage

The TV Guide
Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Yesterday afternoon Dino and I made our way to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to pay our respects to the late Michael Jackson at his star on Hollywood Blvd. As expected, the area was teeming with people who were trying to do the same. The entire block was cordoned off and fans were made to wait in line to get to his star. To be honest, it was hot and crowded … but well worth the wait:

I may not be the biggest MJ fan but I do respect the man for his important contributions to pop culture. I’m glad that I made the pilgrimage to pay my respects.

Afterward, I met up with my friends Tamar, Ollie and Caleb for a little hang out session at Tamar’s before we went out to see a laser show at the Laserium at the Vine Theater. After a few drinks and a great conversation, we decided to skip the show and just hang out for the rest of the night. We had a lovely time … we made the right choice.

This afternoon, I’m heading out to The Golden Apple Comics on Melrose Ave. here in LA for Milo Ventimiglia’s comic book signing. He is launching his new Berserker comic book series and is signing the first issue for fans. Not sure what plans are for tonight but … it looks like a great day thus far ;)

First Look: Imogen Heap, ‘Ellipse’

Album art and tracklist
Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Imogen Heap, amazing solo artist as well as chanteuse for the group Frou Frou, has announced the title, release date and tracklist of her new album … along with the release of the album artwork for her new disc. The album is titled Ellipse, it will be released on August 25 in the US and here is our first look at the album art:

British singer-songwriter-producer and two time Grammy nominee Imogen Heap will now be releasing her much anticipated new solo album Ellipse on August 25th 2009 through RCA Records. The same day Imogen wrapped up her tour in support of her last breakthrough album Speak For Yourself, she delved into the writing process for Ellipse’s thirteen tracks. Beginning in Hawaii and working her way through Fiji, Tasmania, Japan, China and Thailand, accompanied by only a small writing set up, Ellipse began to take shape. Imogen then returned home to continue work on the record and remained true to her do-it-yourself ethos, building her new studio in the “playroom” of her old family home (an 18th century ‘oval villa’ restored by her parents) on the outskirts of London. Below please find the full track listing for Ellipse:

01. First Train Home
02. Wait It Out
03. Earth
04. Little Bird
05. Swoon
06. Tidal
07. Between Sheets
08. 2-1
09. Bad Body Double
10. Aha!
11. The Fire
12. Canvas
13. Half Life

If you are at all familiar with Imogen’s amazing music then you should be as excited as I am at the release of this new album. Imogen has been updating her fans on the progress of Ellipse on her official Twitter profile and I am counting down the seconds until this album is released. Imogen has been one of my fave musicians for many years now … I fell in love with her when she opened for Rufus Wainwright on his first tour. I know that there are quite a few Imogen Heap fans out there so this one’s for you. We’ll count down the seconds together …

Here are a couple cute pics of Alyson Hannigan, her hubby Alexis Denisof and their cute babygirl Satyana (safely secured in her baby carriage) out for a family stroll together here in SoCal yesterday afternoon … behold:

This week has been chock full of emotions … running the gamut of the full spectrum … but seeing these photos of Aly and her happy family really puts everything into perspective. Into everyone’s life a little rain must fall but eventually the will shine again. I imagine that the Hannigan-Denisofs are really enjoying life these days. They’re happy, healthy and raising a beautiful newborn child together. I love that we can always turn to Alyson Hannigan to bright up our days :)

Channing Tatum Takes His Fine Ass Out For A Stroll

Tastes great, Less filling
Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Channing Tatum, who will first appear in the movie Public Enemies as gangster Pretty Boy Floyd and then in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra as Sgt. Duke Hauser, was spotted lookin’ all fine and shizz in his Miller beer t-shirt as he made his way to a meeting in Brentwood, CA yesterday … behold:

Lawd … you know you’re hot when you look really hot and you’re still fully clothed. As I’ve said many, many times before … you put Channing Tatum in a movie and you can count on my $12 at the box office. What is it about meathead hunks that is so appealing? Anyone?
