Entertainment Weekly brings us our first look at the new cover artwork for the trade paperback version of Stephenie Meyer‘s book New Moon which ties in with the release of the movie version of the book The Twilight Saga: New Moon … behold:

Attention Team Jacob: Little, Brown has revealed their cover for the movie tie-in edition of New Moon, which features an exclusive image from the Twilight franchise’s second film. Taylor Lautner fans should certainly pick up more than a few copies (Those arms! That smoldering stare! Remember, he’s only 17!). As for Team Edward…well, at least the image proves that the moon is not, in fact, made of green cheese.

Holy moly! Now that’s the kind of book cover that might inspire the young’ns to pick up a book and start reading. This coverphoto adeptly highlights the focus of New Moon and rightfully puts the character Jacob Black (portrayed by actor Taylor Lautner) front and center with Bella Swan (portrayed by actress Kristen Stewart). I like how Edward Cullen (portrayed by Robert Pattinson) is integrated into the moon (which is normally the symbol of the werewolf). I realize that you cannot always judge a book by its cover … but in this case I think the coverphoto adequately sums up the plot of New Moon. What do y’all think … do you like this book cover?

Jake Gyllenhaal has joined his ladylove Reese Witherspoon in Washington DC (where she is currently in production of her new film How Do You Know?) this week and the couple were spotted on the streets of our nation’s capital looking like they dressed out of the same hamper:

As a world famous superstar, being seen in public wearing the same outfit as someone else is a definite no no. But Hollywood A-listers Jake Gyllenhaal, 28, and Reese Witherspoon, 33, didn’t seem to mind when they arrived at the gym in Washington wearing matching work-out kits today. Of course the happily dating twosome may well have planned to co-ordinate their gym gear of blue shorts and cap, grey t-shirt and trainers. Smiling and laughing, they walked hand-in-hand through the streets after their work-out.

To which I have to give a resounding ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

In previous weeks we’ve seen photos of Kristen Stewart rockin’ the 70′s punk mullet and we’ve seen her chillin’ with Joan Jett in preparation for her appearance in the upcoming new film The Runaways (based on the all-girl band of the 70′s/80′s) and today we get to see K. Stew in action as Jett on the SoCal set of the film. Here are the first pics of Kristen doing her best Joan Jett on the set of the movie that has just began filming:

HMMMMMM … I mean … yeah. Kristen deffo has the Joan Jett look down but … I don’t know that I’m feeling the hair in these pics. It looks different from the pics we’ve seen previously … her hair looks more like a wig in these pics, no? To be honest, I don’t really see Kristen as Joan Jett as much as I see her as Pinky Leather Tuscadero from Happy Days. Granted, you really cannot judge a film from just the pics we seen from the set … and The Runaways just went into production … so I’m gonna hold off on judgment. Minus the hair, I like the look tho … I kinda want to see more.

Earlier today we learned that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick became the proud parents of twin daughters born by a surrogate mother in Ohio and now we have an official statement from the couple on the babies’ birth … including their names. Here is the full text of the just released statement:

“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters at 3:58 p.m. on June 22 in Ohio. Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz., and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds. Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”

Yay!! Those are some serious names for a couple of tiny baby girls … but I’m sure Marion and Tabitha will grow into their very long names soon enough. Again, much love and congrats goes out to the newly expanded Parker-Broderick family!!

Great news for Madonna fans! Sky1 and Sky1 HD will broadcast a full live performance of Maddy‘s Sticky & Sweet Tour which was recorded last December at the River Plate Stadium in in Buenos Aires, Argentina. On July 4, the UK network will air the concert in full to anyone with access to Sky1:

On the 4th of July, Sky1 and Sky1HD will play host to a unique, sexy, and incredible event: the exclusive premiere of Madonna: Sticky and Sweet, a very special live concert recorded in December 2008 at the River Plate Stadium in in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Last night David and I met up with our good friend Gillian for a long overdue dinner date that we’ve been talking about for ages. We went back and forth about places to eat and G decided on a fun place called The Hungry Cat on Sunset and Vine:

The place specializes in sea food and we loved everything we ordered … Gillian always knows the great places to eat :) To be honest, getting to see Gillian was the real treat of the night. She is a dear friend and we love her entirely!

Cameron Diaz, actress extraordinaire, was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a ceremony here in SoCal yesterday afternoon. Diaz‘s star is the 2,386th star on the Walk of Fame … here are a few pics from her ceremony yesterday:

US actress Cameron Diaz has received the 2,386th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where she attributed her successful career to “the eternal love my mom and dad shared.” “It was what has given me the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life and it is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honored today with this star on the Walk of Fame,” Diaz said. Diaz, 36, who earned a whopping 20 million dollars for her role in the film version of “Charlie’s Angels,” will return to the silver screen Friday for the premiere of “My Sister’s Keeper,” in which she plays a mother of two girls, including a cancer patient. Her father died of pneumonia at the age of 58 in April as she was nearing the end of filming for the drama by director Nick Cassavetes. The actress, who is especially known for her role in the 1998 feature “There’s Something About Mary,” attended Monday’s ceremony in front of the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, north of Los Angeles, before hundreds of adoring fans. Ah, Cameron Diaz … I’ve traveled the long road of her stardom with her. There was once a time that I was not her biggest fan (longtime old skool readers may recall “Zitty McPussbags”) but I’ve since softened my stance on her (her performances in the Charlie’s Angels movies helped a lot). While I may not always agree with the awarding of stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I’m sure fans of the lucky celebs who receive these stars are very happy and appreciative for the celebs they love so dear. I suppose congrats are in order for Ms. Diaz. She will now be a part of Hollywood history for all time now that she is a part of the Walk of Fame … and that is no small feat.

Congratulations are in order for proud parents Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick who are reportedly welcoming the birth of their twin daughters today. As we learned back in April, SJP and Matthew decided to have their twin baby girls by surrogate mother and we learn today that the surrogate mom gave birth to the little girls in Martins Ferry, OH earlier today:

CBS news in Martins Ferry, Ohio are reporting that the twin girls of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have arrived. Sources close to East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry confirm for CBS News that the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick gave birth to twins this morning. Sources tell WTRF Reporter Dave Elias that Parker and Broderick are at the hospital with the surrogate. We are also learning that Parker and Broderick are expected to make some type of announcement before they leave the hospital. However, Hospital Spokesperson Maggie Espina would not confirm or deny our reports. She would only say that the hospital has no comment at this time. Security at the hospital is tight this morning. We’re told additional guards have been brought in and even more are on standby, if needed, as this story is expected to get national attention.

Yay!! Much love and congrats goes out to SJP and Matthew on the expansion of their beautiful family. The couple already have a son, James Wilkie, so I’m sure they are ecstatic over the addition of baby girls to the fam. As of yet, no names have been announced for the twin baby girls but one hopes that the proud new parents will divulge that info if they do make an official birth announcement today. Congrats again, SJP and MB!!
