Beyoncé, the artist sometimes known as Sasha Fierce, brought her new concert tour I Am … to Madison Square Garden in NYC to kick off the US leg of her tour. B shocked the crowd by bringing her hubby Jay-Z on stage for their duet of her megahit song Crazy In Love and, by pretty much all accounts, brought the house down with their hot performance. Because I am seeing this show here in LA on July 13, I’m desperately trying to stay away from too many tour spoilers but since I doubt that B-Jay will be on stage together for the rest of the tourdates, I think it’s safe to share. Here are a few photos from Beyoncé‘s concert last night along with a review of the show (Be Warned: the review offers some show spoilers):

Beyonce has finally sorted out her split personality. Feeding both the flashy hip-hop side and the sensitive balladeer is something she has struggled with since stepping out of Destiny’s Child and out on her own. It came to a head on last year’s “I Am . . . Sasha Fierce” double album, but it wasn’t until her Madison Square Garden show Sunday night, the first on the American leg of her world tour, that she consistently integrated them both successfully. (She plays the Garden again Monday night.) See, Sasha Fierce has the booty roll in “Crazy in Love,” which featured hubby Jay-Z who got a response so loud his verses were lost in the roar. She has the “Freakum Dress” and the trapeze act during “Baby Boy” on her side. Can balladeer Beyonce compete with just her big ol’ voice? Well, she spices things up during the ballads now – assembling a wedding gown onstage for “Ave Maria” and throwing Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” into “If I Were a Boy.” It’s no big surprise – after all, “Irreplaceable,” which infuses a Beyonce ballad with Sasha Fierce-ness, is her biggest success. Another combination was equally impressive – as she proved that hot choreography and strong vocals don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Beyonce is an amazing, unique dance-pop and hip-hop artist, arguably the best around, as “Diva” and “Radio” showed. She’s only a good balladeer, though she continues to improve, as her powerful take on “At Last” proved. Not only is she irreplaceable, but now Beyonce may be unstoppable, too.

OOOOOOOH man … the show sounds so good! As I’ve mentioned before, I have yet to see Beyoncé live in concert so I am very excited for all the fierceness in store. David and I will be seeing the show from the Diva Stage so I’m hoping our vantage point will get us close enough to the fierocity so that we may imbue some of it into our beings. Beyoncé has brought her show the US … I hope all y’all are ready.

On Saturday we learned that Madonna‘s newly adopted daughter, Chifundo Mercy James, was flown from her orphanage in Malawi by private jet to her new London home to unite with her new family. On Sunday, we got our first glimpse of little Mercy James in London as her mother shielded her from view as the entire family convened for services at the Kabbalah Centre in London. Today we get our first real look at Mercy as she takes in the surroundings of her new home in the Mayfair neighborhood of London … say hello to Miss Mercy James:

After just 24 hours in the UK four-year-old Mercy James still has a lot to get used to in the world of her new adopted mother Madonna. She was spotted outside the singer’s £15million Mayfair home yesterday morning, in the arms of a woman believed to be her nanny. Madonna, 50, won custody of Mercy a little over a week ago and had been expected to fly out to Malawi to collect her. Instead a nanny flew with Mercy on a private jet to South Africa on Friday night before taking a first-class flight to Heathrow. Hours after landing on Saturday Mercy accompanied Madonna and her new siblings Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight and David, three, to a London meeting of the Kabbalah faith. Madonna’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie was also seen at the centre. It is understood that he has taken Rocco and David to his home in Wiltshire while Madonna bonds with Mercy in London. The family spent an hour at the centre in London before Mercy, wearing shiny white sandals, returned to the singer’s Mayfair home. Yesterday passers by got a glimpse of the girl as she was seen at the singer’s front door wearing a smart new pink frock as guests arrived at the home. It is believed that the singer was at the home as well as her car and driver were seen coming and going from the premises. An onlooker said: “Mercy looked slightly confused. It has obviously been a bit like a circus around her over the past few days so it’s not surprising. It was only a day or two ago that she was still in Malawi and now she finds herself in the middle of London without her friends.”

Awww … there she is. What a little cutie! While I’m sure that all the sights and sounds of London can be a bit daunting for little Mercy, I’m sure all the hoopla would have the same effect on any child that age. I’m very happy that Madonna has finally been allowed to add Mercy to her family as I’m sure they will all live a very long and very happy life together. This little girl’s life has already changed significantly … and her new life has only just begun.

Last month we learned the heartbreaking news that Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty had called off their extra-marital affair (for the second time in 6 months) and ended their almost year-long romantic fraternization … but apparently the break-up didn’t last. The couple were spotted together again in Southern Italy this weekend (the location of their first romantic tryst last year) and they were lookin’ awfully coupley together again. Yes, Balthazar is still technically married but … meh, it’s not like the couple really care much about that:

Sienna Miller has fallen back into the arms of Balthazar Getty — just a month after they split. The pair were spotted on a romantic holiday in southern Italy yesterday, and looked very much like they had put their break-up behind them. Sienna arrived in Positano with Balthazar’s mother on Friday. He didn’t appear until yesterday, when they took a boat together to Nerano — where they kissed and canoodled over an intimate lunch. They joined a group of family and friends for a meal at a restaurant called Lo Scoglio. But Sienna mustn’t have been satisfied by her menu choice, as she was spotted trying to eat Balthazar’s ear at the table. The group then made their way back to Positano — the same Italian town where a topless Sienna was first spotted kissing Balthazar on a yacht last year … Reports emerged last month that the couple had called time on their affair, and Sienna has said in interviews that she is still in love with old flame Jude Law. Make up your mind, love.

Old habits die hard, I suppose. It should be clarified that altho Getty is still married to his wife, I understand that they are now more formally separated so I guess Sienazar have that going for them. This reunion so soon after their break-up shouldn’t really come as a big surprise. The couple first “broke-up” last November before getting back together a few weeks later. After all this time, it’s clear that the couple can’t get enough of one another — mebbe they should just drop the pretense and get together officially. I’ve heard that some men marry their mistresses … this could be one of those success stories.

Congratulations are in order for Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves who, according to a new blogpost published on Matthew‘s official website, are expecting their second child together. As you may recall, the couple welcomed the birth of their firstborn son Levi Alves last Summer (who we first met on the cover of OK! magazine) … and Matthew used the occasion of Father’s Day yesterday to break the news to the world that Camila is pregs with their second child. Here is a pic of the happy couple together earlier this month and the full text of Matthew‘s announcement blogpost:

“Happy Father’s Day. It’s my first, and the last 11 months with Levi and Camila have been the most rewarding adventure to date. We have more blessed news to celebrate this Father’s Day that makes this time next year double the fun. Levi is going to be a big brother … Yeah, we pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time. Camila and are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows, and we thank you for all the well wishes you send out way. Viva la evolucion, naturally, and in the mean times and all time, just keep livin, Matthew and Camilia.”

Aww … well good for them. I suppose it shouldn’t be too surprising that all of these celebs are spawning so soon after the birth of their first children (Gwen Stefani did it, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are doing it … now Camila and Matthew) so that their children can grow up close in age. I know that many of our parents had their children very close together in age … it’s just a bit weird to know all the celebs are doing it, too. It looks like the celeb baby boon is still very much alive … congrats to the expecting happy couple!
