Last December the world got its first set of dolls based on the wildly successful movie franchise The Twilight Saga … then earlier this year, Hot Topic got in on the fun and offered their own Twilight action figures (sold separately or in pairs). In anticipation of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, a doll based on the character Jacob Black got thrown into the mix … and now we learn that Barbie, the most famous doll in all creation, is jumping on board the Twilight bandwagon:

Miley Cyrus took some time away from her bizzy filming schedule in Savannah, GA this weekend to fly off to Dallas, TX for a surprise performance at the Jonas Brothers concert there last night. Miley shocked the audience when she emerged on stage with her (once again) boyfriend Nick Jonas as the pair dueted on the song Before the Storm which they wrote together for the new Jonas album:

If there was any lingering doubt that Niley are back together together then this should erase all notion of that. In what can only be described as the latest blow to poor ex-manfriend Justin Gaston, this impromptu duet seems proof positive that the young lovers are back in lurve. So … I went ahead and did the iPhone upgrade from my 3G to the 3G S. Altho I wasn’t all that impressed with the changes that were made in the new version of the phone to the previous version of the phone I admit I was impressed with the processing speed and the ability to record video (and autofocus). It turns out that I am able to sell my iPhone 3G for a considerable sum at NextWorth.com so the cost to upgrade is minimal:

Because the line at the Apple Store at The Grove was gargantuan on Friday night, I decided to wait until Saturday afternoon to do the upgrade. I went to the Beverly Center Apple Store and got in a fairly short line … then the power blew inside the Apple Store. Without power, they cannot activate phones … so I went off for a Starbucks coffee drink and came back a bit later. The power was restored, the whole process had me in and out in about 15 mins. No sweat. Thus far, I’m enjoying the upgrades … but I still with the battery life was longer. Ah well, mebbe the next new iPhone will get that part right. I have to give a shout out to Pink reader Brett, from Louisiana, who I met at the Beverly Center yesterday. It was my extreme pleasure meeting you … enjoy the Summer here in SoCal :)

Last month we got to see a batch of very fun, very colorful photos from the latest Tous jewelry ad campaign featuring Aussie princess Kylie Minogue. Today we get to see a bunch of behind the scenes photos from that photoshoot … behold:

A surprise party in honour of Ms Kylie Minogue’ — the face of Spanish jeweller Tous, which launched in the UK this year — was the theme of the latest ad campaign for the brand. Cue a Parisian hotel suite filled with balloons and party paraphernalia. The photo shoot’s creative team, led by renowned German photographer Ellen von Unwerth, prepare for a shot on the ornate bed. Kylie with Rosa Oriol de Tous, co-president and design director of the family-owned jewelery business. Founded in the 1920s, the brand now has over 350 stores in 42 countries, including shops on London’s Regent Street and in Westfield shopping centre … The team sets the scene for one of the key campaign shots. “It was a party scene so the acting wasn’t difficult. Everyone was so joyful and energetic and we just had such a fun time with it. But I promise it was lots of hard work too,” says Kylie of the all-day shoot … Although Kylie had her modeling hat on in Paris for Tous, she chatted on set about a possible new album: “You know, a lot of people keep asking me about it, and I’ve also been thinking a lot about it myself…so I think the two combined is a sign that I should start working on it, and soon,” she jokes. The result — a campaign shot featuring a gold necklace (£173), bracelet (£179), earrings (£1,111) and ring (£1,087), all Tous. “There is so much sentimental value in jewelery,” says Kylie. “When I was eight my parents gave me a gold charm bracelet with a little frog on it. Don’t ask me why they chose a frog, but I love it! It’s tiny, but I still have it. It’s amazing that I have never lost it.”

I really love this campaign … it reminds me a bit of the opulence and colorfulness of Sofia Coppola‘s film Marie Antoinette. Kylie is such a doll … and her talk of a new album is very exciting. As some of you are well aware, Kylie will be touring the US this Fall for the FIRST TIME EVER and I think those shows would be the PERFECT opportunity for her to try out some new material on the fans … just a thought. Twilight star Taylor Lautner was spotted roaming the streets of Toronto, Canada all by his lonesome this weekend after flying into town for the Much Music Video Awards which take place TONIGHT! Lautner will be on hand to present an award or mebbe just present his lovely visage to all the rabid Canadian Twilighters in attendance at the awards show ce soir but spent part of his yesterday just chillin’ around town … here are a few photos:

Fortunately for Taylor, the Canucks were none the wiser that he was roaming the streets — alone — otherwise he might’ve gotten swarmed to near death. I believe that Lautner is the only Twilight start who will be attending the MMVAs tonight so he’s sure to get all the lurve at the event itself. Be careful with him you Canadians … we’re gonna need him back in one piece when you’re done with him.

Today is Father’s Day (happiness to all the dads out there) and we get to check out a couple pics of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz celebrating his first Father’s Day weekend with his firstborn baby boy Bronx Mowgli here in SoCal. Petey, Bronx and wife/mother Ashlee Simpson-Wentz made their way about town yesterday … and paid a little visit to the Famous Clothing store here in LA to pick up a few things:

Bronx may have come out of the store with a brand new Famous onesie but it’s Pete who is enjoying the best gift of all. I can only imagine what this first Father’s Day means to him. Much love and happiness goes out to Pete and all the amazing dads out there … enjoy your day!

After the confusion yesterday over Where in the World is Chifundo Mercy James?, we learn today that little Miss Mercy has finally been united with her new family in London, England. Madonna and kids made their way to the Kabbalah Centre in London to meet up with her ex-hubby and father of her children, Guy Ritchie, for a little churchin’ … and from beneath one of the umbrella screens a little, tiny hand popped out — belonging to Madonna‘s new daughter Mercy James:

It’s the most gentle of gestures – a tiny hand holding tightly onto the jacket of the woman carefully cradling her. This is the first glimpse of pop star Madonna and her new daughter Mercy James – who were united yesterday after the child flew into Britain. Hours after the four-year-old arrived on a flight from Malawi to Heathrow she got a taste of her new life as she joined her family on a trip to London”s Kabbalah Centre. Hidden beneath a sea of shielding umbrellas Mercy was briefly glimpsed as she joined older sister Lourdes, and brothers David and Rocco at the centre. Even Madonna’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie was at the centre to meet the new arrival, whose adoption he publicly supported. Madonna, 50, had flown into Britain from New York with her three other children hours earlier. It is thought to be the first time that she has seen her new daughter since she travelled to Malawi in April when her adoption bid was initially rejected before being approved this month. Malawian police arranged for the airport terminal in Lilongwe to shut so Mercy and her new nanny Joanne could leave privately on a private six-seater Cessna Citation plane. They headed to Johannesburg on the first leg of their journey. From there the group flew first-class on a night flight to Heathrow, landing at 6.30am. Earlier Mercy was said to be filled with excitement at leaving her temporary home at Kumbali Lodge in Malawi. One member of staff said: “She was running around, singing to herself and telling everyone how she would be flying for the first time.” She said goodbye in her native language, telling staff: “I’m going now, I’m going on a plane, I’m going up to the sky.”

Yay!! At last … Mercy James is at home with her loving family! This union with her family has been a LONG time coming. I have to say, while the cute little story about Mercy “running around” is cute, I find it highly unlikely that anyone who has been allowed in close proximity to her would be talking to the press … no way. Even still, I’m sure the precious little girl was very excited (prolly a wee bit scared) to begin her new life with her new family. Madonna will be hittin’ the road again soon so she’s gonna have her hands full with all those kids plus a new concert tour. Hopefully we’ll be seeing a better picture of Mercy with her mother very soon :)
